Both Mitch (owner) and Mike (service) seem friendly and anxious to please. However, there appears to be inadequate communication between Mitch and his staff. When salt was added, I had to call the office to have the extra charges deleted from my bill. The charge for filter cleaning jumped to $105. Mike told me conditioner might be needed for the pool(at $30). The worst problem was that Mike didn't have a clue how the equipment works. He could not set the controls and he did not keep the pool clean. He said my pool was the cleanest he serviced...I guess that is why he usually spent only approximately 10 to 15 minutes a week on it. My new tile has calcium spots and algae developed. The pool water goes through the waterfall, and all surfaces touched by water were a slimy green. I told Mike about it and he said the filter may need cleaning. I had him clean the filter (at $105), but that didn't help, so he said my salt cell may need cleaning (another $20+). That is when I joined Angie's list. I called a company with an A rating and happy customers for an estimate. When the new company gave an estimate and before he even got the job, he re-set the controls on my equipment and added the salt I needed. He has serviced my pool only once. He even got into the pool to scrub the tile. The green algae is gone! The pool and the waterfall look great!! I can't wait to do his evaluation! He is great! THANK YOU, ANGIE!
Description of Work: The agreement included weekly maintenance and servicing of our pool to keep it clean and in good working order. Mitch (the owner) assured me the $95/ month included weekly cleaning, salt & chemical supply and maintenance. When I asked what other expenses I should expect, I was told there would be filter cleaning at $50-$75 when necessary and any pool repairs we wanted them to do. We had recently redone the entire pool area, including all new plumbing, pebble surface and all new technology pool equipment. I had been warned that not all pool companies were acquainted with the new technology, but Mitch assured me they were.Pool King serviced my pool 5/13/11 to 7/30/12.

After 3 years of servicing our pool, they decided not to show up for 2 weeks. When I called to inquire, they told me that the main service person's had thrown out his back. They said they were going to come to service our pool soon, but instead they called me the next day and told me they had decided not to service my pool anymore because they were not charging me enough money. Instead of approaching me and telling me they needed to charge more money to service our pool, they just decided not to show up. They're not reliable where they start off very strongly and they end up not living up to promises.
Description of Work: They serviced our pool for approximately 3 years. When they showed up, they did a good job. The problem was whether or not they were going to show up!!!
