Called Leslie's to request an estimate for fixing the broken heater for our pool. The person asked relevant questions regarding fixing the heater (age, model, condition, etc.) and set up an appointment to come out. I asked how much an estimate would cost. I was told it would be $49.00 for the estimate and $20.00 for the trip. The technician came out today, thinking that he was there to sell us a new heater. We explained that we wanted an estimate to fix the existing heater. He then determined the cause of the problem and gave us an estimate of the cost. He then requested payment of $90.00. I told my husband that the quote was $69.00. He went and talked to the technician, and reported back that it was now $110.00 (the tech had forgotten to add the trip fee). Not wanting to argue with the technician, we paid the $110.00. I called their customer service department and was told that the $110 was correct, that the $69 was for an estimate for a new heater. I stated that I had fully explained that I wanted our heater fixed, not a new heater when setting up the appointment.. I did not feel it was our fault they quoted the wrong price and sent the wrong person. The woman I was talking with (Sally) said that I could discuss it with the manager, put me on hold for five minutes, after which I got a busy signal. My conversation with Sally also involved being put on hold for five to ten minutes twice. I felt that the customer service was very poor, that they did not honor the quote that they had provided, and a cost of $110 was very high for five minutes work. Not to mention that charging a customer $69.00 to sell a them a new heater is just crazy!!

LESLIE SWIMMING POOL SUPPLIES IS CONVENIENTLY LOCATED IN ESCONDIDO. ALL OF THE STORE PERSONNEL WERE VERY HELPFUL TO THIS NEW POOL OWNER. I WAS STEERED TO THE APPROPRIATE FLOTATION DEVICES AND HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASES.
