I have used them for a few years. They do all my plumbing work, They are timely, if there is any problems they are right on it, and the work is without fail.

Watch your wallet around this group. IT IS IMPERATIVE TO GET A WRITTEN ESTIMATE OF COST BEFORE THEY BEGIN WORK. They bill by the job, no matter how much time they actually spend on it. In our case, the plumber actually worked about 2 hours and had about $100 in parts but we paid $1,200. Normal rates in our area are about $90 per hour. We had a leak below the slab. The plumber came out on a Monday morning at 8am and told us we needed to have a leak detection service determine where the leak was before he could do anything. After we paid separately for leak detection (about $250) the plumber began the replacement about 11am and was finished by about 1:30pm. It required bypassing the line in the slab with about 20 feet of 3/4 inch copper line. He also replaced a 3/4 inch valve. I opened all of the walls so the plumber had access to the pipes and also went to the store to buy insulation for the pipe because he did not have any with him. After the job was done the plumber presented me with a bill for $1,368, including $40 to be one of their preferred customers. He told me it was company policy to bill by the job, not by the hour, and this was the normal charge for this job. I paid him via credit card. The next day I looked into normal rates for plumbers in our area and found them to be about $90 per hour. I stopped by KMP's office in Solana Beach and spoke to one of the owners about what I felt was an overcharge since the plumber had spent at most 6 hours at our job (only 2 hours actually working) and the parts cost less than $100. I offered to pay them $800 which I felt was more than fair. The owner reduced the charge to $1,200 and claimed it was their policy to bill by the job, not by the hour. I asked why they also did not have a policy of letting the customer know this ahead of time and why they did not provide an estimate prior to the work. He did not have answers for these questions.

He could have communicated better with us. He did good work, but he would sometimes say rude things. He was responsive and he came to work right away.

Good job and no problems thus far. Were timely and professional.

I called KMP the day before having just moved into a new home. Had the issues mentioned above, and it was underscored by not being able use hot and cold laundry water feeds. They came out the next morning and took care of it. They knew I had to go into a work meeting at a specific time and were sensitive to my schedule. I will call them the next time I need plumbing work done.

They came out very quickly, which I was pleased with. The estimate didn't include a lot of things that my other estimate did. They were also not approved by my insurance company, which is why I didn't use them.

We had a good experience with them. They showed up on time and did good work. Their price also was reasonable

They were very fair in what they charged. There were two guys here for four or five hours and they only charged me the minimum because they couldn't find the leak. They didn't come up with he solution but they weren't bad. They were very nice. I have no complaints.

My experience with them was very good and I would use them again. The price is based on what is being done rather than an hourly rate.

In general I was happy with it and I would call them again.

Handle broke over the weekend and water was dripping but it was a slow drip and I didn't want to pay extra for weekend services so I waited until Monday to have plumber come. On Saturday, KMP plumber quoted me $217 for job. When guy came on Monday, price was at $299. They did honor Angie's List 10% so final price was $269. Plumber arrived very promptly and did a good job from what I can tell. Seemed like a lot of money since I saw that the replaced cartridge costs about $10 online. If in a pinch, I might use them again but I would probably call someone else first to see if I could get a better price.

Great Experience

Richard Reason of KMP Plumbing arrived on time and went to work quickly and efficiently. He was done in 15 minutes and not a single tile had to be removed. Our faucet was quiet for the first time in over six months! One of the reasons the other plumbers didn't know how to help us is our fixture required special tools which most plumbers do not carry on their trucks. Our hardware is commercial grade (meant for hotels and resorts) which is unusual for a home installation.

THEY DO A "NO TIME AND MATERIAL". THEY CHARGE BY THE JOB WHICH DOESN'T REALLY GIVE YOU AN IDEA ABOUT THE COST OR HOW LONG THEY WILL BE HERE. THEY ARE VERY COSTLY.

GREG MARTIN, AND HIS PARTNER NAYHEM, ARE VERY EXPERIENCED PLUMBERS WHO SHOULD CHARGE A LOT MORE FOR THEIR WORK. THEIR QUOTE OF $4,900 WAS HALF OF THE NEXT LOWEST QUOTE WE GOT. WE WERE A LITTLE HESITANT TO USE THEM BECAUSE OF THIS, BUT THEY WERE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, AND WE WERE IMPRESSED WITH OUR FACE TO FACE MEETING. THESE ARE THE KIND OF GUYS WHO PUT ON BOOTIES BEFORE THEY COME IN YOUR HOUSE, MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS COVERED, AND CLEANED UP. SHOW UP ON TIME, AND READY TO WORK. RE-PIPING IS SUCH A PAIN, BUT GREG MADE IT EASIER BY COMPLETING THE WORK ON TIME, ON BUDGET, AND BY TAKING GOOD CARE OF OUR HOUSE. I WOULD DEFINITELY USE HIM AGAIN, AND HAVE REFERRED HIM TO MANY OF MY FRIENDS.
