Garage Door Man

Had damage done to my garage door as a result of backing into it. I called them the next day and they offered to have him out that day, but due to my schedule he came out at a time that was more convenient for me. Performed all necessary repairs and had my door operational in under 30 minutes. He did not try pressuring me to buy a new door and was extremely professional. Strongly recommend and would use again in the future.

Because the garage door man was away, I had originally had to have his friend replace one of the springs to allow me to have use of the door (my spring had broken) . The garage man had left his friend's name and number on his recording instructing me to call his friend. I contacted the garage door man when I knew he was back in town and he scheduled a time to return and finish all the work. He was on time, actually a little early, and could not be more professional and kind. I put his number into my cell phone because he is the first person I will call at any point in the future if the garage door needs anything! He left my door aligned, sturdy, safe and the opening of the door is quiet. I could not be more pleased.

Perfect! We found this guy on Angie's List and he is a pro. He was assisted by another person and they both finished the job in a day. Now, the door is one f the best looking in the existing community. He was honest, responsive, professional and friendly. Would recommend to anyone who is anywhere in San Diego's North County. Slightly pricey but *fairly priced* with the quality of the custom work, materials, and service (The existing door size was absolutely not standard!). Warranty was also included!

Both cars were in the garage when the springs malfunctioned. Unable to manually open door. Called James, spoke w/Julie. James came out as soon as he completed another job, took him less than a half hour to fix. Friendly, nice guy. Would definitely recommend.

We contacted this company via e-mail from their web site. Jim Teague responded initially with questions about what type of door we wanted, size, etc. We sent back the info and that was the end. He never got back with us. We went with a company that was more responsive and professional.

Arrived promptly, was professional and ethical. A complete opposite of what we experienced with another company.

One of my three garage door openers stopped working, so I called the Garage Door Man based on good reviews on Angie's List. Jim returned my call immediately and, to my surprise, offered some suggestions to see if the problem could be resolved without any expense. As it turned out, the suggestions didn't work, but I appreciated the attempt. He then said it could be a problem with the motor, sensor alignment, etc., and we scheduled a visit. I asked Jim that if it was the motor, could he switch it out with one that I don't use, and he said he could, for $75. When he arrived he diagnosed a problem with the motor and showed me the broken parts inside the housing. He replaced it with the good motor that wasn't in use, and all worked fine. He and his assistant also greased all the moving parts of both openers and doors and made other adjustments to help prolong the life of my two remaining openers. Both openers now run very smooth and quiet.

Jim Teague responded to my phone call the same day I left the message. He arrived on time and did an excellent job replacing the springs and adjusting the garage door. He even lubricated and adjusted our second garage door for no additional. He charged me the price quoted and did give me the Angie List discount. He was very friendly and easy to work with. He did such a good job, I asked him to return to raise the garage door slightly so that my VW Van could fit in the garage. He was able to adjust the height and connections to the garage door assembly so that the door would lift enough to clear the entry for the van to enter without having to raise the door and add another panel. This saved me several hundred dollars I had requested raising the garage door with two other garage door companies, and the both said it could not be done. He also returned to adjust the door several weeks later at no additional charge.

Excellent service. My garage door spring broke, parking on the street is a pain so we were hoping to get it fixed quickly. He picked up on my first call and was able to fit me the same day. He was right on time and got the garage door fixed and working properly even faster than he estimated. Also replaced my old spring with one that has twice the lifetime cycles, which is very much appreciated. I will definitely be using him again in the future if need be.

Jim showed up right on time and the Service call went very well. He had a new sensor on his truck and he installed it and serviced the rollers/springs in about 30 minutes. This is the second time Jim came out to service my door. The first time was in 2011 and he replaced a spring that broke. He also installed a Keypad to open the door which comes in very handy when you have kids coming and going constantly! I called him a year ago to get instructions on how to change the code and he gave me instructions over the phone (no charge):) I am a very happy customer and will continue to use Jim, the Garage Door Man in the future!!

fast, easy, cheap... not the best quality nor communication of product but over all a good experience

Garage door malfunctioned so called highest rated guy in my area. He came within an hour (normal hours, weekday), diagnosed the problem, offered to fix immediate problem, replace worn out gear, or replace the unit. All prices were fair but I decided to replace the worn out gear while he was at it. The price to replace was good but it seemed like my old unit was made better, or less complicated, than the new ones, so I just went with the replaced gear. Jim was professional, prompt and was fair in his pricing. What more could you ask for in a garage door man. He is my go to guy for garage doors.

He was very professional, punctual, and efficient. He patiently explained about the broken spring which I didn't realize it was broken. He likes his work, I could tell by his positive attitude. He takes pride in doing a great job. It was a pleasure having him do the work.

Jim returned my call promptly. We explained our situation ( garage door wouldn't open) and he diagnosed the problem from the phone. Arrangements were made for him to come to repair the broken spring at 11am the next day. He arrived on time and did exceptional work. Jim was professional and courteous. He even set our garage door to muffle the noise as we told him it has sounded like a screaming dinosaur for years! The door works great and is so quiet now! Jim installed new garage door springs to replace a broken spring. He did the work professionally and a very good price, better that most of the quotes I got. He was friendly and did the work quickly. He even greased and adjusted the the door he repaired. He also greased my second garage opener at no extra charge. I will use him again if I have any garage door problem.

Jim was great about accommodating our schedule and was able to accept credit card payment over the phone, emailing the invoice. Great service, efficient, timely.

The exprience was great. He arrived on time with the right tools and parts. After completing the spring replacement he showed me how to lubricate the door to make it last longer and operate much quieter. He was done in about 30 minutes all the while talking with me. All in all, he provided wonderful service and I would be happy to use him in the future if the need arises.

I called James and explained what was wrong with my garage door and he knew without seeing it what was wrong and quoted me the price over the phone. When I asked James to come by and check to make sure of the job and quote, he said he was in the nieghborhood and he would be at the house within 15 minutes. 15 minutes later James was at my house and he informed me that the quote stands as is ($265.00) for replacing the spring and he had all the part to do the job then and there. After calling several garage company (about 6) they all quoted over $600.00 and some whanted me to chance the entire door and system which wood have cost $700.00 to $1000.00. Thank you James.

I called Jim to get an estimate because two of the garage doors were sticking. He serviced all three doors on the same day. He arrived early and gave me some tips on how to make them slide more smoothly on the railings. He is knowledgeable and did a great job. I will definitely be calling him again should my garage doors need repair.

Jim did an an excellent job in replacing my broken spring in the weekend and charged a very reasonable price for the service.

One of the torsion springs in my garage snapped- I called a couple of my neighbors to see who they had used in the past- Some outrageous amounts paid in the region of $700-$800. I went on Angie's List- Found Garage Door Man SD (Jim Teague) on Friday- He said he could make it out later that afternoon. That didn't work for me- So we scheduled for early Monday morning. Jim showed up right on time- And replaced the springs on my garage door (Both of them) - Then he serviced my garage door and made sure everything was in working order. He was in and out of here in an hour and it cost me less than $250 including the coupon. Could not recommend him more highly- He is punctual, a professional and charges appropriately for the services he provide- I couldn't be happier. Regards Niall Johnston

Owner answered my call promptly. After I explained my need he quoted a price. He then asked me if I saw his discount coupon. I had not but he gave me the discount anyway. He called 15 minutes before our appointment time to let me know he would arrive early. He arrived 10 minutes early, performed the work and departed with a smile and a thank you.

Great experience with this company. I emailed the company late in the week to have my garage door fixed on my rental. I had been told by my tenant that the hinge had come off and needed repair. I told this in my email to Garage Door Man and they were able to quote me a price to replace it via email as well as set up an appointment for the following Monday to repair it. The owner and team member arrived with the parts EARLY and upon inspection realized that only the springs needed to be replaced. I was impressed that they didn't try to upsell me to replace the entire hinge unit, since I was already expecting to spend $325 on that repair. They quickly replaced the springs, tested the automatic opener to make sure everything work correctly before leaving. All in all, they provided wonderful service and I would be happy to use them in the future if the need arises.
