Description of Work: They did our front yard. The end product was fine, but the patio was laid out incorrectly and we only met Mr. Dandy once. The workmen were great! And the price was affordable, but we would not use them again.

Description of Work: Mr. Dandy said he was very busy and that he would obtain my landscape plans from the designer. I did not hear back from him after that.

Description of Work: Very happy with the job they did on my yard. They took out old yard and installed beautiful sod. Crew was always here on time and did a fantastic clean up job after every day. This was no small project and they finished early. Will call them again if I ever need anything else done.

Description of Work: Our fountain needed servicing in the landscape Tom created and he was here when he said he would be and cleaned it up quickly, It's running so much better. He sure knows his fountains and does a good job. Always willing to help and he has so much knowledge and does such a good job. It's a joy having him around and working for us.

Description of Work: Mr. Dandy seemed quite willing to work with me but his estimator refused to consider setting up an estimate appointment at any time other than 1 PM. He said he could not do 3 or 4 PM because he needed adequate daylight to assess the job. When I pointed out that my back yard has plenty of daylight at 3 PM he hung up. So, if you can’t get off work at exactly 1 PM don’t waste your time with them.

Description of Work: They did the following for us: - dug up the front yard and re-leveled it, planting new grass and all new plants. The did some hardscaping as well to align the walking path with the new lawn layout. - front yard/ backyard excavation and removal - built a garbage bin holding pen for our two large bins - redid the sprinkler system putting our plants on a drip system - soil replacement - gate building - DG install - water fountain install in two areas - built mini raised vegi garden beds - planted all our new plants - did a one month checkup post finish

Description of Work: Removed existing landscape in front and back yards including a 20 foot tall Melaleuca tree that had broken our front sidewalk. They tore out the front sidewalk and replaced it with stone top tumbled pavers. In the back, they saw cut the existing patio and added stone top tumbled pavers as ribbons throughout and surrounding the patio. They also poured new concrete to extend our existing patio. The plain concrete on the patio was stained. New irrigation was added to maximize a drip system; new mulch and nutrients were added to the soil; new plants and trees were planted; moved a fountain in the front and back yards; wrapped two existing deck pillars with a stone facade with a capstone standing 42" high; added a new patch of hybrid, dought resistant lawn; and added exterior lighting to the front and back yards.

Description of Work: We met with the owner and had originally needed quote for landscaping for our front and backyard. Total square footage of lot was 5200sf with 1600 sf house and attached garage. Needed to replace concrete patio in back as it was becoming uneven from nearby eucalyptus tree. Move retaining wall back about about 8' which would require slightly taller block wall, planting plan for new plants, irrigation line and flower bed. Owner had provided recommendation for us to work with his landscape designer because of amount of work involved. We were glad to start process but after looking at overall cost for major items and additional home improvements to suit our needs, we decided to buy a bigger house. The decision had nothing to do with cost or experience with Dandy Landscaping. He was professional, on-time with our meeting, and responsive. He understood our decision and remained professional after I informed him of our decision. The cost we paid for the intial work the landscape designer had performed. It was a downpayment for a total cost of $600 for design which would have been deducted from construction cost if we went with Dandy Landscape Construction.

Description of Work: We are working on our yard in phases. So far Tom has replaced our irrigation system for the lawn and orchard. He has put in DG, Sod, bark, and plants. Tom has also laid bricks and flagstone. He has removed a tree and pruned another. He also pulled up a long hedge of juniper bushes. He has repaired a garden wall and installed underground electrical lines for future lighting.

Description of Work: I used Dandy Landscape Construction for fencing work, two months ago.

Description of Work: We did a complete overhaul of our backyard. Dandy Landscape helped us come up with a new design for the backyard that we all could agree on. Once that was done, they created a beautiful new patio, put in drains, reworked the irrigation system, removed the existing lawn, put down new sod, and delivered / installed countless plants. flowers and trees. Once the landscape and hardscape was complete they also installed lights and a patio cover.

Description of Work: Filled a 30' x 10' x 4' (swimming pool size) koi pond with clean fill and top soil, installed sprinklers, and plants. Also transplanted an extremely large flax plant into that same area, and put down hybrid sod in a 15' x 10 foot dog run. The koi pond fill was extremely hard, because there was no access to the area except a small sidewalk next to the house; so all soil had to be brought in with wheelbarrels one at a time. I started to feel really bad for the workers by the third day.

Description of Work: Tom's crew turned a dessicated and ugly patch of lawn adjoining my driveway and house into a beautiful slate-flagstoned patio surrounded by an irrigated planter border and a low stucco-ed wall. Concealed piping runs to the center of the patio for a fountain in the future. An eyesore was transformed into a beautiful sitting area, and a liability to an asset.

Description of Work: I recently found it necessary to have additional landscaping done, and contacted Tom Dandy Landscape Construction to perform the necessary work. As usual Mr. Dandy and the workers arrived on schedule and began working immediately on removing a dead king palm tree which had suffered frost damage during a recent freeze and had subsequently died. We added an additional three queen palms which were purchased by the landscape company after we had discussed the various options available to us. They were very healthy and quite large and definitely were a bargain. They look wonderful and have filled up the space nicely. In addition, we wanted to have two very large trees topped in order to prevent the possibility of them being toppled over during an extended rainy and/or windy period. They were near a busy street and could definitely cause damage and possibly injury if they toppled over during such a time. This type of work requires a skilled landscaper to safely remove such large tree parts without any damage to the surrounding vegetation and the adjacent common areas as well. This entailed preparing the neighboring area well in advance of the actual cutting to ensure the job was done safely and properly. A wood chipper easily removed all the debris that remained after the topping and a thorough sweeping left the entire area neat as a pin. The back and side of the house where the work was performed look great with no evidence that such extensive work had recently been accomplished other than the fact that the two trees are now quite a bit smaller and a lot safer. They will grow slowly and fill in nicely in the next few months.

Description of Work: They removed 8 bushes and 1 small tree and removed a dead tree limb on a very large tree.

Description of Work: We contacted Dandy Construction to move a king palm tree from the front of our home to the back, and to discuss various options for the front area where the king palm had been removed. The king palm was placed alongside a queen palm already planted outside the wall behind our house. Other plantings had died and the front area had become somewhat of an eyesore. Tom Dandy brought numerous pictures and information regarding various paving materials that could be utilized attractively in the area, as well as ideas on ways to achieve our goals. We decided to install quartzite flagstone, along with a small retaining wall on the side, also covered with flagstone, where shrubbery could be planted. We wanted a gray color that would go well with our existing driveway and we asked Mr. Dandy to choose one he felt would look the most appealing and be the most durable. He had many ideas and explained various options which really assisted us in making the right decisions for this specific area. The charcoal color chosen was absolutely beautiful and blended extremely well with our driveway. He and his workers decided to work the entire weekend because of the imminent threat of torrential rain which could, at the very least, delay the finish of the project. They replaced underground drain hoses and reinforced the area with rebar to ensure the durability of the flagstone if the occasion ever arose where it was temporarily needed as a driveway extension. Mr. Dandy took the time to accompany us to a local nursery where his knowledge and expertise of various shrubs and plants were of immeasurable value in choosing the correct plantings for our specific area.

Description of Work: We recently had our 1978 courtyard updated by Tom Dandy Landscape and his crew. Tom had gotten good reviews from a previous job so I did not get competing job quotes. I don’t know how good his price was but the work his crew did was outstanding. The job turned out better than we had hoped. The job included stamped concrete, new sprinklers and electric lines to the lights, 2 plant beds and containers, cover a large area in newer stone, a water feature, and new plantings. Tom was on the job every day to keep things going smoothly and his work crew worked tirelessly and with expertise. Several times Tom did things for us that weren’t in the contract – like carrying heavy boxes up a steep hill or extra electrical instillations. Tom was good at suggesting changes (like putting in lights) that worked out better than our original contract. He worked tirelessly getting the water flow just right in the water feature and hunted all over our back country for just the right rocks. There are a lot more good things I could say but it would be better for you to ask Tom to show you our completed job. He will probably do more work for us.

Description of Work: Recently this company built a split face fence wall around the back and side of our property (approximately 112 feet). The wall is 5' high across the back and 4' high on the side, with standard cap and included a cedar/Douglas fir gate 3' wide and 5' high. They also built a wooden fence around pool equipment measuring 7' front panel and 3 1/2' return to wall, including cedar picket 2" X 4" Douglas fir rail and 4" X 4" pressure treated post.
