It turned out OK. They didn’t have any supervision on the site so I supervised them and needed to let them know they couldn’t glue the roof tiles back in; they needed to screw them back in. Also, I asked them to paint the wall, which is about 20’ long and they refused to do this per the contract verbiage. I negotiated with them to provide me with 2 gallons of paint. The panels also needed to be changed from 200 to 225 amps. The size of the panels wasn’t relayed to the project manager. The work was scheduled but the sales person told me the the project manager would contact me before they came out and this did not happen. Their price was the same as the other three estimates I received.

It was a good process. The pricing was on-par with other companies.

Working with them has been excellent. Sinuhe was particularly great to work with. Their pricing was competitive and I’ve referred them to others who have used them as well.

Because of the nature of our problem, the issue we elevated to the attention of upper management. My contact worked to get me in touch with the appropriate people at the leasing company to solve my problem.

It took a pretty long time to get the right proposal. It felt like they were yanking me around on price (I still think I overpaid a bit) because I reached out to them through SunPower, as opposed to finding them on Facebook. If you found them on Facebook, they gave you a certain deal/discount. Once we locked in on the work, it took them a little while to schedule the installation. The installers were very good - they were done a day earlier than the original plan. They're noisy, but that couldn't be avoided. They kept the mess to themselves and did a decent job cleaning up after themselves. After the installation was done, they had the same quality checker guy come out twice, and he ended up spending close to 2 days fixing whatever the installers didn't do correctly. So I rated quality high based on this guy's output, not the original installers.

Installation was very smooth and professional. Follow up to explain the system was excellent. It took me a long time to choose a system, during which the price went up. Baker honored the original price and upgraded my inverters after there was some confusion about which inverters I was allowed to install on my house. I was very happy with the service. It has only been a few months, but everything is working fine so far.

The estimate was fair, good and thorough. They came out and told us our options.

The work went very smoothly and I have no complaints. One reason I liked them was because they had good reviews on Angie's List. I got a big system for my house because I use a lot more kilowatts than the average person.

The finally representative came out to explain how the equipment runs. Showed me on the computer how it is monitored. Flipped the switch on in January and pretty pleased with the results so far. Everyone I had contact with were beyond expectation. Highly recommend this company!

I was interested in going solar and was introduced to two solar companies at a community forum. I interviewed both of them and received similar, but different information. Not feeling entirely comfortable with the two companies, and since there are an abundance of solar companies in San Diego, I joined Angies List to get a better read on local companies. Baker Electric Solar showed up as a top rated firm. Since Baker Electric is a long-standing, reputable commercial electrical contractor in town, I chose to hear what they had to say. They exceeded my expectations from my first point of contact with them through the SDG&E approval and flipping of the switch. Very professional firm. They deserve their top rating on Angies List. I too am now a fan.

ystem would.n our meetings, it was just an easy decision.This started in early Sept.2013. Met with Baker and two other companies. Michael, from Btaker,was just so much more professional it turned out to be a no-brainer. I chose the 20 year prepaid lease and am very happy about it. After some delays, not too great, the system was tyrned on Jan.9,and we are generating exactly what they said the system would.

We called 3 companies for estimates for solar panel installation at our home. Baker Electric Solar was the only company able to provide a complete system spec and a full estimate based on one visit. Other companies sent a sales rep who gave us vague and non-specific information, saying they needed to send a technician out for the next step. One company tried to sell us panels from a manufacturer who announced in March that they were getting out of the solar panel manufacturing business. We decided on a lease as the best option for us. So we know exactly what our electricity will cost of the next 20 years. There were some delays but they were the fault of the leasing company, not Baker Electric Solar. But Baker Electric Solar compensated us and other affected customers with a generous gift card. That was good for us and good for their reputation as tops in customer service.

Selected Baker Electric Solar for our 7.1kW photovoltaic solar power system. They and Cosmic Solar were within $.01/Watt on their proposals, but Baker was more certain they could complete the project prior to the end of the year. Solar Alliance of America also bid, but they were nearly $10K higher overall and their high pressure tactics were off-putting at best. |Baker's salesman was the only one to actually climb up on our roof to take additional measurements and revised his proposal as a result. He was also the only one to follow up on his proposal. Installation went well with a pleasant and professional crew taking two days to fully complete the installation. County and SDG&E inspections were done when expected with no problems found. There were several status updates and progress reports throughout the project and all appointments were punctually kept. For the amount of money we spent, we expected top notch service and were not disappointed. Baker Electric Solar is worthy of top ratings.

Our overall experience with Baker was excellent through all phases of the project. In the sales phase, they were responsive and provided options for us to consider as we evaluated different scenarios. They took the time to answer all of the detailed questions we had about every aspect of the system design and installation methods, etc. They were price competitive and low key through the sales process. We looked at approx 11 other providers and chose Baker because of their reputation, the professionalism of their approach, and the positive experience of some of our friends who also used Baker. Once the contract was signed, they executed the project flawlessly. Drawings were completed on time, permits were pulled quickly, and Erica Tanner, the project coordinator, kept us informed all along the way. When it looked like we might cause a delay to their installation schedule because we needed to move a pool heating system, they moved their date out and then back in again without any fuss when that other work was completed on time. The installation crew was professional and the work was performed neatly. Conduit runs were clean and electrical panel and meter installation was neat. After inspection and SDG&E authorization, the system was switched on and is operating without any issue. All in all it was a great experience.

We have used them. We are waiting for the project to start, they are waiting for approval from the city and permits to be pulled. I interviewed eleven companies and I picked the one that seemed to have the best combination of capability, permanence, price, review, all of the various parts and pieces and the products they used.

The staff of Baker Electric were very personable and professional. They completed all parts of the project at the agreed upon times. They were very careful of the tiles on our roof. The number of panels they recommended for our home have generated enough power to almost entirely eliminate our electric bills. We highly recommend their service.

Baker Electric Solar we used. It's a twenty year lease, it was pricey, but it's less than it would be paying for electric. I started on the San Diego website and I had three different companies come out and Baker has been in business for over forty years, I went with them because they are not a fly by night operation. They are going to be around and will stand by their product. Also I went to the manufacturer of the panels that I was going to put up, Sun Power, and on Sun Power's website they recommend Bakers. They had a professional come out and do an estimate and he was very helpful and then the other guy, the guy who installed was wonderful and then a guy who came after the install and did the checking, he was also wonderful. So all the people that they used were very professional and very prompt and knowledgable.

Baker Electric Solar was very professional and helped us through our solar system installation and electrical upgrade. They came when promised and completed the work quickly and efficiently. All of their staff was courteous and helpful. We would use them again.

It went well overall. They had plenty of people taking care of me and everyone worked very well for me. At times, I felt there may have been a lack of communication within the company. Everything has to be signed off by the city when it’s completed, and there was some delay getting that taken care of. I don’t feel it was anyone’s fault, as the city was hard to deal with. They did a great job coordinating the entire job.

They were great. They redid the solar panels and we were able to come to an agreement on the cost.

It turned out very well. They kept to their word and were on time. We stayed within budget and it was a good experience.

It was the first time I had solar put up, but they have a very good reputation here in San Diego. They are good on follow up and they did excellent work. I had a part that was bad and they were prompt in coming out to replace it.

It was a good experience. They were going to give us a referral fee on one that I sent it and I still haven’t received it. But other than that, everything was good and they were low pressure.

I called and made an appointment with Jason. He arrived at the apppointed time and provided me with a comprehensive proposal with numerous options (roof and ground mount; purchase, monthly lease and prepaid lease). After doing a great deal of research and getting about six bids I decided to go with Baker. I called Jason and told him that I wanted to do the prepaid lease on the ground mount. After providing me with a proposal for a ground mount system, he told me Baker would not do the ground mount.Why would a company provide me a proposal for a service they refuse to perform?
