We just completed the installation of a 72 panel solar system and two Tesla power walls. By residential standards this was a very big job and frankly we had a lot of concern going into the process. Fortunately, we chose Alive Soar to do the work and they were AMAZING! Since buying this property we have worked with quite a few contractors, service providers and material vendors and none has come close to matching the performance of Alive Solar. We are more than accustomed to people telling us they would be here on a certain date and then not showing up We have had our fill of people messing up jobs and not ever fixing them. We have been plagued by people who promised the moon, took our money and then made us miserable. NONE of that with Alive Solar. They did everything exactly when they said they would, at the cost that we agreed to and without any drama or upset. Adam and his team are true professionals and I hereby give them my very highest rating and recommendation.

Alive Solar made this skeptic a believer… I was skeptical about solar companies and solar sales companies for a very long time. With so many solar companies in the market today, I just wasn’t sure who to trust with such a large investment. By the way if you are looking for a tax rebate, now is the time to get solar. ALIVE Solar and Roofing (Adam Hammill and team) was professional and delivered exceptional customer service. We had several questions throughout the process, and Adam and his team swiftly returned our phone calls and emails. The team (from the owner, to the business office, to the on-site installers) all are competent and stay on the job until it is finished. We also needed a new HVAC system, and tankless water heater. He made recommendations that we used and appreciated. Make sure you talk to Adam and his front office staff before you select a company to install your solar system. We have been very pleased with our new system.

Alive Solar installed our system on schedule and on budget, in fact the final cost was exactly as quoted. Their time estimates were dead on as well in regard to permits, install time, and final approval to operate from SDGE. Overall the install looks and operates great. The sub-panel they installed looks better than the main panel as they patched and painted the stucco to match the existing. We're thrilled with the install from Alive and our only regret is not having it done sooner. I highly recommend Alive for solar.

We received quotes from two companies before choosing Alive to install solar panels on our house. Adam was very helpful in running the numbers to see how many panels were a good fit for our house based on our current SDG&E bills and the locations on our roof that would give the best result. I think he drew up 6-7 different options before we picked the one we wanted. He was very accommodating and when it came time to install them it was a painless processes. We made a decision to replace our roof after discovering a few leaks. We had approximately 9 different companies to evaluate our roof as to whether to repair or replace. We decided to replace. We chose Michael Shannon of Alive Solar & Roofing because they were more knowledgeable regarding our skylight and roofing needs. Once scheduled, the roofing crew showed up everyday until the roof was done. They would clean up daily around the property and upon the completion of the job.They were through, professional, friendly, courteous.. They did an excellent job. Mike explained each step along the way. We also had their solar division remove and replace our existing solar panels. They also did an excellent job. Great customer service and very responsive. All in All they were a great group of guys. Would highly recommend this company. Fair and honest.

Smooth and efficient

After making the decision to purchase solar I ended up getting 5 quotes. I was getting solar due to a leaky roof and wanted to bundle the two projects together. Alive Solar was the only company that embodied customer service and actually walked on the roof and found the leaky area before providing quotes. At the time that I was getting quotes there was an approaching deadline to stay on the tiered rate structure. All 5 quotes acknowledge that it was a tight deadline but Adam and Alive Solar were the only ones to do anything to ensure we could meet the deadline. Without signing yet signing a contract they helped get some of the paperwork started to give me the best chance possible of meeting the deadline. Once signing with Alive they did everything in their power to ensure our install went as smooth as possible. There were several hiccups outside their control (ie. SDGE being slow to perform inspections and SD Metro Credit Union requiring me to show up to get my loan moving as they were not responding to e-mails or phone calls). However in both of these instances Alive kept me up to date and followed up when they had information. The install went smoothly and to plan and I am happy with my new roof and solar system. The system has now been live for about 2 months and I am producing just the right amount of power as was described to me. This matched my usage quite well. Alive would be a great company to choose for your solar needs.

It went great! 30 days start to finish even with 3 holidays. Very responsive customer service. Workers were timely and cleaned up after themselves. 5 months into having solar and it is doing exactly what was promised. It covers all of our electricity.

I would give Alive Solar higher than an A if I could. Their prices were the lowest for the quality of equipment compared with the 3 other companies that were recommended to me. (None of the others were recommended as highly as Alive though. Several of my coworkers used Alive and had just as positive of experiences with them as I did.) They processed all of the paperwork promptly and completed the job ahead of schedule. The installers did the job right and were very professional and helpful. Adam always returned my calls quickly and answered all of my questions patiently and honestly. I am very grateful to Adam and his company for making solar installation such a positive experience for me.
