Service took longer than anticipated

They maintain my yard monthly and do a good job.

The team ahowed up on time and worked diligently till the job was done. They were done pretty quickly so we had them clean up a few more things

Honest, hard working, courteous, on time, responsive. I contacted A Passion for Gardening and Pedro, the owner, was able to come out the next day for a quote. His quote was spot on and comparable to other quotes we received. Pedro was friendly, easy-going and responsive. With a great quote and friendly persona, Pedro got the job. He worked with us on when we needed the work done. Pedro and his crew showed up when they said they would, and started work right away. When I told him that the one 6-ft panel of fencing that we thought we would be able to save was not saved, he only charged us for materials and not the extra labor. He explained to me that he likes to use screws when building a fence because the boards won't get loose like they would with nails or staples. Pedro's crew worked hard, cleaned up all fence debris, and completed the job in one day. We have a beautiful, sturdy fence, and I couldn't be more pleased with the fence and with Pedro and his crew. -- As a side note, I asked Pedro about other landscaping issues that we have. He was just wonderful, spending 30 minutes giving me advice and different options as to what we could do. He gave me some price estimates and they were comparable to or less than other prices I've received. He did this without the promise of another job. "Wow" is all I can say. --- Note: The price of $2,000 was the original quote. When I told him he needed to add an extra fence panel, he only charged me $120 more which was the cost of the materials only.

Great! In addition to being professional, the owner and staff at a Passion for Gardening are very knowledgeable, and have an eye for aesthetics. E.g., the retaining wall has a nice variety of stone shapes and colors. It really makes a difference in the look of our property! The concrete driveway looks great, too. They are now completely redoing our front yard including changing our the sprinkler system, minimizing the grass areas, and installing drought tolerant plants. Highly recommend!

Pedro, Emiliano, Juan and the rest of the team do outstanding work. From replacing my driveway with pavers, to removing my lawn and installing water-friendly plants, to providing yard maintenance, they are number one in my book. I ALWAYS call Pedro ( aka the plant whisperer).

Excellent. Pedro's crew even leveled the ground. Just ensure you confirm and double check job details as some of the crew are Spanish speakers.

The work was average. Basically, you get what you pay for.

Pedro is a nice and honest guy. He was helpful in coordinating to buy the materials and ordering just the right amount. He started the job when he said he would and everything was done in three days. He always calls back, as well as returned a few times to fix a few things on the irrigation.

I was very un-pleased with the whole process except how easy it was to pay for the service. Once I had paid, I was to select which days work best for an appt.. That appt time came and went. I contacted the company, which seemed to be only be 1 person, the owner and very overwhelmed. He asked me to text him my address in which I did. I had yet to hear back, so I called again a couple of days later. Again another "did you text me your address?" and while I proceeded to say I did but you never called me back, I got another "text me your address again and I will call you back". No call back. So I called Angies list to inquire about a refund. They were very helpful, but I contacted the company once more before I cancelled. He finally told me after I threatened a cancellation that he would be by my house that following Fri.. He showed up on time and with 10 plants already picked out. Thats not the deal if you read what I paid for. It was 10 plants you pick (drought or succulents) and a 30 min. consultation, which would be 2 visits. While I already knew what I wanted and didn't really need the consultation, the consultation would have been nice as maybe the company had a better idea. Those plants that he showed up with were 10 succulents. If you had any idea how big my yard was, which was approx. 3000 sq. feet and this being a 1/3rd, 10 succulents were not going to do the job. Drought tolerant plants can grow 3-5 feet wide and that would have been my selection. So to conclude, I didnt not receive the plants I wanted, the appt. took 4 weeks and he asked for additional monies for potting soil he used around each plant, once planted. Which he used prior to letting us know of the additional cost. We did not pay him for this reason.

The crew arrived on time, very professional and helpful. They worked without break until job was completed.

Mr. Yanez met with me, and I showed him the area where I wanted new plants planted. The following day, he showed up on time with his crew. He showed me the plants he had selected before planting them. The plants were appropriate for the area. His crew planted the plants including soil amendment in about one hour. The plants look great and are doing very well. It was a pleasure doing business with Mr. Yanez and his crew! I will definitely hire them again and will rely on Mr. Yanez's expertise to select more plants for other areas.

Slow but completed. Had an upgrade because desired tree was not available. description of services vague. Overall, satisfied.

In December 2016, Pedro came out and he was supposed to be planting some succulent plants and give me a quote for ground landscaping cover with small rocks.. At that time I just had a back surgery. I have been texting with Pedro back and forth in Feb and March. Pedro quoted me between $650 - $700 extra on top of the $299 deal that I already purchased to include ground landscaping cover with small rocks on top. He also mentioned about removing the trash which essentially was not even that much to take away since we have a very small yard and again he quoted me between $650-$700. We got into an argument, and now have a hard time having him return my calls.

Very informal; estimate not in writing. But very willing to accommodate to client's vision. Brought a nice assortment of plants.

The crew arrived on time and worked efficiently all day. They left the yard clean and hauled away all the cuttings. I was satisfied with the work and the crew and would call on them again.

Not contacted by Angie's list provider and want refund. Found another provider.

Good, but drip system for watering was extra

It didn't. I had to call Passion for Gardening to set up the initial appointment (he was supposed to call me). Pedro the owner barely speaks english and cannot communicate well at all. He took notes and estimated an additional $800 to add drip sprinklers and mulch (for 20 plants). I thought is was excessive as my total bill would now be $1,100. I agreed because I already sunk the $299 into this and needed to get it done. I tried to schedule an install date right then because I do not live at the house and want to make sure I could be there. He he would not do it, he said I needed to text him later when I wanted the work done. I texted him the date and he accepted, except he showed up a week early, apparently cannot read or use a calendar either. I drove 150 miles to be there on the agreed to date and he shows up empty handed. He thought it was a design consultation!! I asked him what happened to all the notes and drawings he made the last time we met? He said he was not sure who I was when I texted him. He did not bother to ask me that? He said the mix-up was all my fault because I did not automatically tell him the who, what and where of the project all over again to him. He took no responsibility for the mis-communication. That is one **** of a way to run a business. He is clueless, rude and unprofessional. I fired him because I do not want to do business with someone so unorganized and irresponsible. I am now asking Angie's List for a full refund of my $299 and will most likely not do business with Angie's List again.

This company did a fantastic job on our yard. Marcos and Juan showed up early, worked hard, and got everything done that we wanted to within 6 hours. Our yard looks great, they hauled away all the yard waste for only a small additional fee and we were so pleased with the work.

Paid for service on March 9, now it is March 29th, and the company has not contacted me. What's up? I want a refund.
