Dealt with George over the phone. Called him on a Monday or Tuesday and he quickly set-up an appointment for an estimate 2 days later for which he showed up for ready and on time. I was impressed with his honesty and openness during the estimate. He gave me 2 prices for 2 separate jobs.After the estimate, George called me back a couple times to see if I had made my decision. He didn't pressure me or anything though.I decided to go with George because he seemed to be able to get the job done quick and I needed that because I was holding a Memorial day BBQ and I wanted the house to be done. George guaranteed and he delivered on that guarantee. His guys showed up Monday and were ready for work. They spent 4 full days working on my house from 9am to 7PM.After looking at the color book, my wife had decided to go with 3 colors instead of the pre-agreed up-on 2. This forced George to charge me an extra $500 which I was fine with as it wasn't what was in the original estimate and was more work for his guys. Again, he was up front and honest about it.Overall his guys did great work. The house looks fantastic. They even painted a couple really hard to reach area. The only minor complaint I would have is that the guys broke a couple things around the house (a garden hose rack and a outdoor light sensor). I told George and told him the damages came to about $100 to replace the two items. He didn't argue or anything and just credited me the $100 out of my final payment. Again, very fair and honest. I would use George and his company again down the road.

We decided to decline the Geo Parks bid, so he did no actual work for us.

Very professional crew, on-time, high quality work, reasonable pricing. George Parks, Jr. was courteous, fair and professional. I would definitely use them again.

George Parks Roofing came out and submitted an estimate for the work. We approved it and they went right to work. They did the job in one day which was great as it minimized the inconvenience to our tenants. They also sent us a video of the work done since we live an hour away from the rental house. They also repaired the beams from the carport with no additional cost. As they were leaving they accidentally backed into one of the rental homes causing some damage to the stucco and the window frame. They came back the very next day to repair it. The paint color didn't match exactly and the window frame was not repaired so they came out again to insure that we were happy with the job. I really appreciate their responsiveness to this issue.There have been a couple of heavy rains since then, and no leaks! We were not aware that they required a deposit for half of the work up front, we had sent our "manager" a check for the full amount once the work was completed. So, when they came I called the office and they waived the deposit since it would have required me to drive it over that day. Overall we were very happy with the work done.

George Parks Roofing and Painting had done excellent roofing work (to the roof of our home) and painting work for us previously, so when we noticed some leaking issues in the garage after the recent heavy rains, we had them come once again to perform similar (but fewer) services to our garage roof. Just as before, we were extremely impressed by their responsiveness, professionalism, promptness, and thoroughness in assessing the problems with our garage roof and finding the most cost-effective way to solve our leaking problem, since we could not yet afford to replace our roof. Just like with the roof of our home, our garage roof had been improperly installed over two prior roof layers, causing numerous problems. When the rains returned, we could not have been happier and more relieved to see the leaking had finally stopped. We are confident and pleased with their quality and value of work, and look forward to being able to have them properly install a new roof on our home and garage in the future.

George Parks was one of 5 bids I received. They were by far the most competitive and their professionalism and efficiency was greatly appreciated. Chris was incredibly professional and thoroughly explained the process and time frame to me in a clear and understandable way. The job was done in two days and looks fantastic! Moreover; they left the job site clean and tidy...this is a sign of a true professional IMHO... I have even put the video Chris made of my roof on my Facebook page to let all my friends see what a great job they did. I have also referred him to my neighbor who is anxious to have George Parks Roofing fix their current leaking issue. They really did a great job. Couldn't be happier.

Great phone conversation. Professional attitude and business. Gave prompt service to recover the roofing that had lifted away in the previous winds.

They only spent 30 minutes on my roof, and not even close to the maximum of 2 hours allotted by the Big Deal. Also, while one person worked on the roof, the other person gave me a sales pitch on painting my house and reroofing it "whenever I would need it". In the end I felt like I paid for a sales pitch. When I complained about the price and the time spent, they only claimed that they didn't get paid nearly the amount of the Big Deal price. UPDATE I feel compelled to reply to the provider's response. Mr. Parks states the big deal was for up to 2 hours Roof Maintenance. I believe most people would interpret that to mean no more than 2 hours of work for the price. Only a lawyer would interpret that to mean 30 minutes of work is okay. Mr. Parks states the job was 40 miles away and for a roof over 3000 sq. ft. Does that mean if my roof was 1500 sq. ft., they would spend 15 minutes on the job? Perhaps he should have put limitations in the fine print of his offer pertaining to distance and roof size! They arrived in a dingy pickup truck, hardly a first-class impression. I expected they would touch-up caulk/seal the roof vent pipes, air vents, flashings. They did very little of this. In fact, I believe they only caulked one drain and repositioned one tile, both of which I informed them about. My roof is 17 years old, and I believe more caulking would have been appropriate. Only one man did the work. The other man held the ladder only during ascent and descent. With regard to the bird droppings, I had a leak caused by accumulated bird droppings which blocked the rain cap on the chimney. Since they spent so little time, I asked that they remove a pile of droppings around the rain cap. I believe they could have easily accommodated my request, and solved a real maintenance problem. I was told by Mr. Parks that Angie's List takes $120 of the coupon, and he only makes $79. He should probably not offer Big Deals, unless he uses them to get a foot in the door. I realize there are other excellent reviews, but in my case, they have a very disappointed and dissatisfied customer. I have changed some of my ratings based on their response to my review. Their Big Deal turned out to be a Bad Deal for both of us.

I was pleased with the experience and outcome of the work done by George Parks Roofing. From the start through completion all appointments were easily scheduled and reliably kept. My contact was with Daniel. He was very knowledgeable and willing to take the time to explain all details and options. I felt confident in their expertise. Daniel was accessible, and stayed in communication. All materials and debris were removed and cleaned up thoroughly. Another notable comment - before the scheduled start date, we had a sudden strong rain. A small ceiling area had been slightly damaged and was starting to leak. Daniel volunteered to come out and place tarp over the area - without extra charge. I think George Parks Roofing gives quality, service and value.

Called George for an estimate on a Saturday morning and he was able to come out in less than an hour. He gave me a bid that was substantially lower than the estimate I got from someone else. While up on the roof he noticed a few things and suggested certain repairs that the other guy missed and I knew I was dealing with someone qualified to work on MY roof. He shot me the official estimate/bid through email the same day and I was able to schedule the work to be done on Tuesday. He came personally with one of his workers and they got the job done exactly as promised. He was very responsive as I was able to get a hold of him any time between Saturday and Tuesday. He even took pictures of all the work he did and emailed them to me for easy reference in the future. This experience is truly why I am glad to be an Angie's List member.

Overall, I am happy with happy with the work. However, there were some issues with flashing, window trim, and a few other minor areas.

Have a 1938 house that needed the roof redone. Roof had 4 layers of shingles over a Shake shingle base. House approx. 1400 sq. ft. Two car detached garage and a 30ft by 15ft flat roofed storage area all needed to be roofed. We called for an estimate back in November, Chris Parks came out to the house and surveyed the project. He came back with quote in three days. We liked the estimate, felt Chris was honest, and were sure we were giving the George Parks company our business. They were ready to go. My wife and I then decided to add eaves to the buildings. We elected to do this ourselves. We pulled a permit with the city of Glendale and spent the next three and a half weeks adding the eaves. Luckily for us the weather held out and it didn't rain. Chris waited patently to perform the work, even offered to send out an associate to give us an estimate on the eaves. But we performed the work on the eaves as a family. We called Chris after the city did the finale inspection on the eaves. He arranged for his crew the next day.They did a great job. Roof looks great. Arrived on time. Impeccable cleanup. Two days to perform entire job.

Great service, great work. It was a simple job, roof maintenance and small repairs. We had strong winds the next week and roof shingles all stayed put. George Parks Jr. was thorough, professional and hardworking.

Chris and his team did an excellent job repairing and restoring two critical areas of the house: the roof and an exterior/interior door. The roof had not been installed properly by the previous owner and had two layers of old roofing underneath an improperly installed top layer. The roof had begun leaking from both rain and drainage from a faulty AC unit due to numerous damaged and exposed areas that caused water to travel underneath the more secure areas of the roof and penetrate the ceiling into the house. Chris took a comprehensive approach to cost-effectively repairing and restoring the roof to prevent further leaking. We trust they were successful in protecting our home and know they will return if we run into any problems that can be resolved. They also took great care in sealing all openings on the roof and painting them with a weatherproofing finish in a beautiful color to complement our home. The exterior/interior door and jam were never fully primed and painted since we had it installed several years ago. Chris's painter took great care in cleaning, repairing, restoring, priming and painting the jam and door. It was a lot of work due to lots of wear and beveling, and he did an excellent job. Chris and his team were professional, attentive, timely, thorough, worked expediently, and took great care to ensure the job was done properly and that we were comfortable and confident with the work. We're confident we will use their services again in the future.

I was not comfortable going with an estimate given without seeing the roof. I was concerned that once they got started, they might try to say that more work was required than they thought and that the cost would increase.

A great experience. Chris Parks handled the process throughout, and was very fast and thorough in his planning and execution of the job. All the guys on the crew worked hard and the results are very good. I called initially to have them check out a leaky section at the back of my house where the previous owner had installed shingle roofing over an area that didn't drain properly due to lack of slope. Water was pooling and leaking down into the room for a while. I knew that whole section would need to be re-done, and Chris suggested a plan to do it properly with roll roofing. He pulled up a section of the rotted roof first to get an idea of the condition of the timbers underneath, and was very upfront about the fact that he didn't know exactly how much of the existing lumber could be saved, but that he would try to only replace what was necessary (in addition to the roll roofing of course). Since we were on the roof anyway, I asked Chris to have a look at the rest of the roof and assess its condition. He walked around and checked our various different things like the flashing, the mineral loss on the shingles, and whether there might be one or more old roofs underneath (there were). He suggested that a whole house re-roof would be a smart idea, given the overall poor condition of the roof. Numerous broken shingle areas, lots of mineral loss, cracked and shoddily installed flashing, and so on. He did not, however, attempt to pressure me into doing the whole project. He just gave me his professional opinion and took a lot of time going through each of the items and why it was a problem. He suggested that I would ultimately save $ by re-roofing the whole house now (since it'd have to be done soon anyway) rather than doing a partial patch on only the leaky section. But he went ahead and quoted for the job both ways as I requested. I decided to go with the full re-roof, and Chris squeezed in the job almost immediately. I think it was less than 2 days after I called him. He had a cancellation that led to there being a crew available, and got all the materials lined up immediately and went to work. The tear-off guys arrived at 7am on Friday, and the whole job was done by about 2pm on Saturday. Amazingly fast, and the quality looks really good. Not being a contractor/builder myself, I am no expert. But I can recognize the quality of their workmanship. Little things like painting the flashings and vents to match the shingles also made a difference. There was one piece of material that wasn't available, so Chris said a couple of the guys would be coming back on Monday to finish up one small section. I'm sure they'll be as professional and efficient as the rest of the job has been. Highly recommended. Looking forward to hiring them for some painting work in the future.

I had a very negative experience with George Parks Painting & Roofing (GP). But please keep in mind that I did not use them, so my comments go solely to their professionalism in providing estimates. I have no knowledge of the quality of their work. I gave them a "D" because that is "Bad" on the Angie's List scale; and my experience was bad bordering on "Lousy." I gave this grade with the knowledge that my score would not factor as highly into GP's overall rating as someone who had used them. Let me start with the good: they were the most responsive of the roofing companies following some rain here in So. Cal. Many of the other companies simply did not respond, or took a long time to do so, or responded right away indicating they could not come out for a long while. GP responded quickly and came out to do the estimate quickly. I appreciated that. Now the bad: Park brother Dan came out to estimate the cost of two repairs on my house: (1) replace a number of Spanish tiles on my roof that were broken; and (2) fix/repair a garage roof turned deck that was leaking into the garage. I made clear that these were two separate projects, and they may be doing one, both, or neither, depending on their estimate. Dan took a cursory look at the two locations I indicated, listened to my description of what I wanted done, and gave me an estimate of $650 for (1) and $3,000 for (2). These were in line with other estimates I had received. After I received the estimate, I emailed them asking to confirm that they would do some things that had been identified as necessary by other roofers who had provided an estimate. Unlike GP, these other estimators had actually pulled up the flooring on the garage roof to look at the nature and scope of the problem. Brother Chris, not Dan, then emailed me back and said it seemed like I was expanding the scope of the project -- and he would like to come out to take a look. Now, I had not expanded the scope of the project. It was the exact same repair, I just wanted to ensure that they were going to do it correctly. So I invited GP back to take another look. At this second viewing, Chris did pull up some of the garage flooring to look more carefully at the scope of the repair for (2) above. Nothing at all changed about (1), the Spanish tiles. Chris said that (2), the garage roof repair, looked "more involved" then they had originally thought, and he would have to get me a new estimate. This is the point where I started to get concerned. GP had come out and provided an estimate for two jobs. I described very clearly what the problem was. I did not instruct them how to solve the problem or what to examine in order to make that determination -- they are the experts, not me. Now they wanted to change their estimate based on a second viewing. Well, they didn't provide a second estimate on (2) -- they just said that, after consulting with their father, they wanted no part of repairing the garage roof because of concerns with replacing the deck (note: I subsequently had it done by another roofer for the same price GP originally estimated and was done perfectly -- no leaks and the deck looks as it did before). I was not happy with that -- after all, they had already come out and given me an estimate -- but I couldn't force them to do something they didn't want to do. What got my really upset, was that they changed the price of (1), the repair of the Spanish tiles. Remember, I had told them from the get go that these were separate quotes. Nonetheless, they claimed that they quote on (1) was "low" and "allowed for no profit" because they had anticipated getting both jobs. I told them that their understanding was exactly opposite what I had originally told them, but I would not hold them to the original estimate. They sent me a new estimate on (1): it was $1650. That's a 150% increase! Chris gave some c*** and bull story about how the original estimate did not include "50 additional tiles" that may be necessary if some were broken. But, then, neither did the second estimate -- except after I emailed asking why it had increased so much. In other words, this was a post facto excuse that had no basis in reality. After going back and forth on this point a few times -- and getting no resolution -- I walked away. I should note that they were always polite and professional in their communications. But I find it incredibly unprofessional for a company to provide a poor estimate (i.e., not look at the solution to the problem posed carefully enough to provide an accurate number), withdraw from part of the project upon second inspection, and then jack up the cost of a separate part of the estimate.

Around 7:00 in the evening one of the unit owners in the condo complex I'm president of contacted me about a leak in their unit. Our regular roofer was unavailable so I took a chance and called George. His son, George Jr. and an assistant came out first thing the very next day. George took a look at the roof and was unable to spot the leak from the outside. He mentioned that with rock roofs like ours, it's often very difficult to find leaks and nearly impossible to patch them. He said he would try to locate it, but if he failed, it would most likely mean we would have to replace the entire roof (not something I wanted to hear), but he would need to see where the leak was inside the unit before he could give me an answer. The unit owner was at work and it took her about 15 minutes to arrive. The guys waited patiently without complaint. After locating the leak inside of the unit, George Jr. went back up on the roof. He noticed that a pipe near where the leak was was cracked. He sealed the pipe with a little caulk and told me if that didn't work, to give him a call and they'd come back to take another look. So far the repair is holding, we didn't have to replace the roof, and they didn't charge us, even though they were here for over an hour. I was extremely pleased with the entire experience. The guys were friendly, polite, and explained everything to me in detail and made sure I understood. Instead of just opting for the expensive route for us (and the more lucrative route for him) George took the time and made the effort to help save us money. I would highly recommend George Parks Roofing & Painting to anyone looking for superior quality work and customer service.

We had an old composition shingle roof with three layers and a large wood patio overhang that was rotted. George Parks Roofing performed the teardown of the overhang, which left us with the need to rebuild the eaves and fascia along the entire back side of the house. They did this work along with the roof, which is approximately just over 1200 sq ft. They started on a Thursday morning and were completely done by Friday mid-afternoon--less than 2 days from start to finish. They worked quickly and efficiently and the entire crew was punctual and professional. Project foreman Chris Parks was exceptionally professional, honest and fair. He listened to specific requests, understanding our concerns for ensuring that other aspects of our home such as the rain gutter system, exterior paint, etc. remained in good condition, avoiding damage by the roof work that was performed and accommodated us to the best of his capabilities. He paid particular attention to details such as accurate measurements of the roof to ensure that the right amount of material was purchased and delivered on time to avoid any logistical problems and interruptions to the workflow so that the job could be completed within the quoted timeframe. He personally oversaw all aspects of the project turnkey and returned the next business day to perform touchups - patch and paint - to the eaves and stucco that needed repair. Once touchups were completed, he also oversaw allfinal trash removal, including nails and other debris that resulted from the roof teardown. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the integrity of the company, its professional and practical approach to doing business, the excellent workmanship and accountability. We interviewed several companies that attempted to upsell unnecessary services and were more concerned with doing dog and pony shows to close the sale at grossly inflated prices. We chose George Parks Roofing because they came in at a comparatively low bid to some of the other predatory companies, and George Parks pricing was truly right-sized for the job and for the house. They use high quality materials and their openness and willingness to educate and collaborate with us on the process was not only reassuring but well appreciated.

The power washing/painting took 5 days with one day for drying before stucco repair and paint. All windows and doors were covered with plastic sheets that were removed at the end of each workday. We have a lot of greenery close to the house. Everything was protected from paint spatter and not damaged by the workers. The roofing work was done after the painting, so the painter returned upon completion of the roofing work to touch up any scuffs or smudges created by the roofing crew. The roofing work took 4 days. The crew asked me to move our vehicles to the street to make sure they were not damaged. They also checked as to where I would prefer they staged their materials. I appreciated their care and concern. They cleaned up every day so there was not debris or nails strewn. When the job was completed the clean up was very thorough. I was especially impressed by the worker with the large magnet-on-a-stick who was trolling for nails. Since completion I have found only two nails in the flower beds; nothing on or near the driveway or sidewalk. Kudos the cleanup. It has rained a few times and I happy to report that we have no more leaks. Chris, the company's rep who made the initial estimate checked in with me daily, usually in person to update me on where they were in the process and to see if I had quest ions or concerns. Chris and I did a comprehensive inspection of the work before I gave him the final payment. I am totally satisfied with the service and work. I work with George Parks again in a heartbeat.

The job was done well and efficiently. It was good that they were able to take care of both the roof and painting so I did not have to coordinate the scheduling between two different contractors. They finished the job quickly, it came out looking great and they left the place clean at the end of every day and when they were finished. We were out of town when they did the roof, but during the painting phase we hardly knew they were there. The side door and frame they replaced on our garage was a better than they took out. They didn't have to do that upgrade, but they did. Chris Parks was in charge of the job and he was very concerned all along the way that we were satisfied and he took the time to answer all our questions and promptly took care of anything we were concerned about. He knows his stuff when it comes to roofs and painting. The crew that did the job was friendly, professional and spoke English. To do the roof job they had to remove all the roof tile, repair wood damage and then lay 2 layers of 30 pound paper and put the tile back on, replacing any broken tile. The paint job had a lot of French Windows and rod iron work to be painted.. All the wood repairs blended in, the paint job looks great and we had no leaks during the last big rain, so we are satisfied with the job. Chris was also very responsive to our phone calls and emails.

I think I pretty much covered the start to finish process in the above paragraph.But I could only add that if you want to have a quality experience and exceptional craftsmanship give them a call.. .

It went perfectly. Very professional from start to finish and stayed within estimate. Job was done in just a few hours and everything was cleaned up before they left. Would definitely recommend their services and use them again.

They were very responsive from the outset, returning our phone call that same day - which was much better than most of the roofing contractors that we approached, some of whom didn't get back to us for over two weeks. We scheduled an appointment and within a few days they had started the job. They were very good at cleaning up after themselves, and took care to remove any debris from our neighbors yard, as well as our own, helping to make sure that we didn't cause any unwanted trash in our neighbors yard. They also upgraded the type of roofing composite that was used on our roof, at no additional charge to us, which helped us make sure we kept within our budget for the job.

The job went fine. Daniel Parks arrived with Fidel, the painter. Fidel prepared the patio (sweeping etc), applied primer, paint, and the patio looks like new. I especially want to compliment Fidel.
