George, himself, was very responsive, and the work was done ahead of time and with great care. I can't comment on the price as I did not shop around much. But I didn't have to: I wanted a professional job done by a family-owned business focused on roofing. I got it...

This is a wonderful company! I am so impressed. I knew I needed a roof but didn't realize how badly I needed a roof until an electrician pointed out to me that he could see the sky through my roof when he was in the crawl space!! Well this is supposed to be an El Nino year so many roofers were charging exorbitant priced and were booked way out. I found George Parks and they responded immediately to my message and within days they came out to give me an estimate, working around my work schedule. They too were booked way out but they managed to get my house painted and a new roof put on just in time for the rain. I know they had to rearrange many schedules in order to fit me in. They were so professional, so very nice, and the work was beautiful. Such kind workers. They cleaned up everything thoroughly...I just love this company. I needed a lot of work on this house, including repair of some water damage on an exterior wall. It is just beautiful now thanks to George Parks Painting and Roofing. Wonderful company! Thank you! I just had George Parks Roofing complete a roofing project for me at my home in Tustin. They did an excellent job on the project which included some additional work with replacing some fascia which they did a great job on. Their crew was very good and cleaned up the site daily. I could not recommend them more highly!

Tried on two separate occasions - September 3rd and September 7th - to contact this company for a quote. I have a rental house in Woodland Hills that needs both roofing and painting and I liked the thought of one company doing both at once. I left detailed messages on the 800 and the 818 phone number, with two return phone numbers for me. No return call. No contact saying they were too busy to take my job.

FANTASTIC! Everything was so effortless. I called, Chris showed up to bid within a couple of hours. We made a deal that looked good to everyone and Chris announced that they would be starting in 2 days. With a crew as large and professional as George Parks, everything moves fast. Thank God for that, because on the afternoon of Saturday 7/18, the crew had just finished getting the last shreds of old shingles, tar paper, etc. off the roof and I had gone out to bid them farewell ... but they said, no, it's going to rain (pointing to the giant rolls of roofing paper in the truck bed). 8 guys went up on that roof, working as fast as they could putting paper down before it started raining, and while it rained and poured. Thanks to those men and George Parks Roofing & Painting, our house was protected from damage. You see, Chris had been carefully monitoring the weather and had the crew and materials on hand exactly when they were needed! Kudos, Chris. The entire time the roofing operation was underway, the stucco repairs were made and paint prep was done, so when the shingles started to be applied, painting began. The painting of our house went very fast. Their workmanship is very meticulous. I can see no errors in their work nor any tell-tale signs that painters have been here. The only paint they left here is exactly where it should be.

I could not be happier with the job that George Parks and his crew did for me. Chris Parks, his son, explained each step that had to be done and why. He and or his father stopped by each day the crews were working to answer questions or make suggestions. The crews were amazing...worked long hours...starting early and stayed late if they needed to. They also did a great clean up job at the end.

After the excellent roofing repair job done by George Parks Painting & Roofing in October, 2013, we had Chris Parks give us an estimate to paint the house in the spring of 2014. Our home is over 6,000 sq. ft. and it needed not only full re-painting (including the garage doors) but there was considerable wood and window frame deterioration that needed repair. Chris and his team were a pleasure to work with. Chris helped me get through the Homeowner's Assn. approval process very quickly, hand delivering the paint samples to the Architectural Committee and giving them all the details of our project. Once the painting began, under Chris's supervision, his crew took great care to make sure there was no paint over-spray on the pool area or walkways below. Our homes have very small side yards and Chris made sure the neighbor's house was adequately protected from any over-spray as well. His guys spent days sanding and sealing all of my damaged wood window frames and wood door frames before painting them.. They clearly are a very professional company with all the appropriate equipment (scaffolding, ropes, etc) to handle a job as large as mine. Before the end of our job, Chris, my husband and I walked around the house to pick up any minor spots that needed touch-ups and they were taken care of immediately. Chris wanted to be sure we were 100% satisfied before making our final payment. The exterior of my home looks beautiful and I still get compliments from neighbors who pass by. I can't recommend Chris Parks and George Parks Painting and Roofing enough. If you have been putting off painting your home because it just seems too overwhelming, just call Chris Parks and in no time, your job will be done competently, carefully and most of all professionally. When I am ready for my next interior paint job, I will be calling Chris again for sure. Working with George Parks Painting & Roofing was the best experience we have ever had with any contractor!

They showed up and pressure washed the house. They sanded all the problem spots and made minor repairs where needed, including some that were not included in the original quote. They were very thorough. They covered and taped off everything including windows, plants and patio furniture before they started spraying. They sanded the front door which was natural wood and varnished that as well. The front door was not included in the original quote but they threw that in because it was agreed that it would make the door look better. The whole process took four days and we are completely satisfied and pleased with the job they did. I would recommend these guys to anybody.

We went with Chris because of the Angie's List review, and he did extremely well. 1) For the quote, he went up on the roof, and came down and told me the price. This was different from the other contractors, who all said "we'll have to go back and work up the estimate". He later sent me a written bid to verify, and it was exactly what he quoted me on the roof. 2) Chris was a straight-shooter - he didn't try to sell me any extras (some of the other contractors, when they went back, put in "extras" that we didn't need which jacked up the price). One roofer from a different company tried to sell me insulation (which we already had in the roof); another added solar panels to the bid (interesting, but all we needed was the roof to be fixed). Chris gave us the price to FIX THE ROOF, which was exactly what we asked for. 3) He came back on time, did the work, and cleaned up well. 4) For most roofs, you won't know whether the job is done right until it rains. He called us up the DAY after the first rain, and asked us if everything was OK. Overall, this was a simple job, and easy to screw up if you don't watch the details. Chris watched the details, and did a very good job. I would recommend this company to anyone needing roofing repairs.

I was not here, my husband was here. The work was fine. We would possibly use them again, depending on the price.

. I hired this company because of the reviews and they were a "one stop" do it all for my needs. They were able to meet my time-line. Am I satisfied with the result? Yes, I am. I wish I could post pictures. I was able to not take off work while the job was done. Minor clean up was daily, complete tras haul at end of job Were there some issues? When isn't there any issues with anything in life. The important difference here is the issues were not earth shattering, minor, and most importantly solved to my satisfaction. So much so I'm planning on bringing them back for more painting. Would I recommend them to you, without reservation, yes, with the caveat of not overshadowing, but just being aware what is being done daily. Thanks Chris and George. Little bit says thanks too.. The cats, weird creatures they are, however, say good riddance!!! :):)

This was our second encounter with George Parks and his team. They had replaced our spanish tile roof in 2011. Same exceptional service-honest, timely and everything done to spec. Beautiful work! Thanks George.

They did a very good job. They didn't charge me additional charges. I wasn't here but my husband said they were okay. The price was right. We got the coupon and it worked exactly for what we needed. I don't know what they would normally charge so I don't know if I would be using them again. It would totally depend on what they charge.

They were fast , got the job done in a timely manner and everything was clean when they left.

The tiles on our roof were installed about 12 years ago, but apparently they loosened over the years. In addition, many of the tiles were broken. Accordingly, George Parks' roofers had to perform a good deal of maintenance, and they did an excellent job. The tiles are now nicely aligned and appear to be adequately secured. Chris Parks explained the details of the job to my wife and me, and recommended some additional long-term maintenance (without applying pressure), which we are considering. We felt that he was honest, and that he didn't try to sell us anything that we did not need. Both Chris and his workers were a pleasure to work with, and everyone genuinely cared about the quality of the final product. Communications were maintained throughout.

The paint job (consisting of three different colors) looks beautiful. The guys did a really careful job, making sure to achieve complete coverage without cutting corners. Moreover, they did a nice, neat job, making sure first to cover our furniture and patio with plastic, and cleaned up thoroughly when they were done. They were also a pleasure to work with, communicated well, and genuinely cared about the quality of their work. Chris Parks skillfully managed the job throughout, from initial bid to determining level of customer satisfaction. He effectively explained the details of the job to my wife and me, and maintained communications with us throughout.

Mr Parks came out to the house to see the roof and sent a written estimate in 2 days; the cost was reasonable compared to others I had gotten, but frankly that he came out himself (one competitor based the bid on Google images), that the estimate was written and that it came immediately after the phone estimate also played a part in my decision, as was Chris Parks's willingness to explain obscure (to me) areas in the contract. The crew started work right away and did an excellent job -- it was tested the day after completion by an early rainstorm. The extra insulation was an add-on I asked for, and it was completed quickly also. Overall a company I would be very happy to use again; easy to deal with, work of very good quality.

This was a major project that needed immediate attention, and the work started within two days of signing the contract. I dealt almost exclusively with Chris Parks, and I found him to be totally accessible by cell phone and email, and very professional. While some roofing contractors will try and sell you on replacing all existing tiles, and extra unnecessary work, Chris did not try and do that. While I knew from my own inspection of the roof underlayment that all of the sheathing would have to be replaced, and that the heavyweight roof tiles would also need to be replaced, Chris provided me with a staged estimate and complete breakdown of what the estimated costs would be for each part of the project, from a simple felt and flashing replacement, to new sheathing, or a complete tearoff and replacement with new roof tiles. Since there was water damage involved from existing roof leaks, I also was prepared for any required structural repairs and/or reinforcement, the extent and cost of which really could not be determined before the existing roof was removed. Chris and his crew worked with me to find solutions to remedy rafter replacement and reinforcement problems in a cost effective way that would still result in a structurally sound and visually appealing roof upon completion. This was a twenty eight year old roof, and it needed plenty of work to get it back into shape. We discovered some inconsistent construction with regard to the original rafter installation, where in some parts they were 24" apart, and in others, they were 16" apart. There was one area of the house where it was obvious that a dozen new rafters needed to be installed which should have been their from the original construction of the home. One of the big problems we had was the vaulted ceilings, and how they were constructed "sandwich" style, with the roof sheathing nailed on top of the rafters, and the ceiling drywall directly nailed to the bottom of the same rafters. This made it impossible to replace rafters in some areas of the roof without having to teardown and replace about 1000 square feet of drywall ceiling, but Chris and his crew provided me with a number of alternative solutions, and with the addition of stringers and blocking, we were able to restore roof integrity to better than originally built without having to deal with very expensive ceiling replacement issues. From September 4 until final inspection of the roof by the City on September 17, the crew from George Parks, led by Alberto, worked tirelessly in over 100 degree heat every day except Sundays (work on Sunday prohibited by the City of Santa Clarita) and Chris was on site as needed and in constant contact with me and his crew. I have to stress here that in my experience with other contractors, Chris's availability by cell phone was remarkable, and on the few times I left a voicemail, I received a call back within a very short time. Another obstacle we had to deal with was the dreaded Homeowners Association, and their rules. Even though the roof tiles selected for installation were on the "pre approved" list, I still had to obtain approval to proceed with installation, and as this particular HOA is notorious for, they were not in any big rush to approve anything. Of course, if you are one day late with paying your fees, or leave your trash bins out for a minute longer than the rules allow, they are very quick to charge delinquency fees, assess fines, and send lots of letters from their attorneys who don't seem to understand that they work for the homeowners and not a management company or a handful of people who makeup the "Board of Directors". Chris was able to expedite getting an approval letter from the HOA in time for the scheduled delivery and installation of the new roof tiles. With respect to painting, the HOA rules require that the house be repainted with the same colors as the original, and Sinclair paint and Quaker paint had both gone out of business, so matching colors was not easy. Chris took samples of the existing colors and was able to exactly match the needed colors with the assistance of Dunn Edwards. This is another example of going the extra mile for a customer, just like throwing in a few extras like replacing the side entrance door to the garage and staining the front door to the house at no extra charge. For a project of this magnitude, and all of the problems associated with a thirty year old house, dealing with an HOA, and a City that is not exactly the easiest to deal with, Chris and George Parks Roofing did a terrific job, in a very reasonable amount of time considering all of the extra work that needed to be done, and the end of job "punch list" is too small and inconsequential to even talk about. As for costs, George Parks Roofing proposal was very competitive with respect to the marketplace. The costs for the additional structural repairs and necessary partial wood siding replacement, which added another $7,500 to the original estimate, were fair and reasonable. Considering the quality of the work performed, Chris's personal attention and availability, and ability to complete the job in a remarkably short amount of time, I am extremely satisfied, and would have no hesitation about recommending George Parks Roofing and Painting to anyone.

Chris came out, walked the roof, pointed out some minor issues, and said that while he could do the project it would cost about $750 but that it could be done cheaper myself or I probably could have the solar system installers do it while they were up there (putting some roof mastic/sealer around the pipes coming out of the roof). I most definitely will have them do the work if the solar company doesn't do it. There's no way I'm getting up on that roof myself. Based on my interaction with Chris of George Parks Roofing & Painting, I definitely would call upon them again for roofing or painting work. A pleasure to deal with.
