It went great. This is the third time I have used Mr. Handyman. My personal choice is James, the one who was sent out the first time. I am about to call again. I am a 63-yr-old woman whose husband is about to come home from a nursing facility where he has been for three and a half years. There is lots to do and James has been doing much of it. The first two times he came out I had him assembling all sorts of things I had ordered online, e.g., a table and chair set, a patio canopy. I also had him move things around and other miscellaneous this and that. Those first two times he was excellent. The third time with the showers he was great. James always had a truck full of tools. He also read the assembly instructions before putting things together and left the instructions on the thing he'd just built for me to do as I saw fit with. (No, he did not spend a great deal of time reading instructions but he did review them regardless of how obvious what to do must have been.) The scheduling was just what I requested and I got an appointment quickly. Person I talked to on the phone, Lewis, was also very personable and helpful.

Handyman was very late (he said he had to come back from West Hills). I thought I had called a local shop. He appeared willing and tried very hard but he took a long time and did not replace the old thermostat housing so that it worked. I did that myself.

The provider was polite, efficient and flexible. We needed him to open up the bottom stair to allow a termite treatment and be flexible w/ the uncertain time arrival of the termite technician. He found the stair eaten a bit by termites and immediately replaced it. I was so happy he had the wood material and capability to take care of this on the spot. We were a great team. He sent me out for materials for the doors while he worked on the stair and sink. His organization and efficiency were appreciated. Overall I couldn't be happier.

It went very well. I have used this service repeatedly and will continue to do so.

It went great. Although I suspect they move slower because they are paid by the hour. I enjoy the friendly chatting, but please work at the same time.

very responsive, prompt, personable etc etc. Not happy with initial $500 quote to fix a simple fluorescent fixture, threatened to downgrade on "Angies' List", he reduced the price. All things considered, for now, would use again.

We hired Mr. Handyman to do bathtub caulking. The first guy who came out did a horrible job. It looked bad and came off very quickly. I called them up to let them know I wanted them to send someone out to re-do and it was not an issue. Someone was sent the very next day. He took his time and we haven't had the same issue at all. Would definitely hire again.

I purchased a large (4 x 10) exterior window shade from an on-line source, figuring I could install it myself. WRONG! When I found myself standing on a shaky ladder, electric drill in one hand, screws and brackets in the other -- with a 40 square-foot plate glass window looming a foot away from my face -- I realized I had bit off more than I could chew. I found Mr. Handyman on Angie's list and called them. I explained the job and they a) promised to send a technician out within ONE HOUR; b) promised that he'd have everything needed (including a STABLE tall ladder) to do the job; and c) agreed to charge for just one hour instead of their typical two hour minimum. (In fact, they asked me to think of other stuff that might need fixing because the job would likely take less than an hour to complete!) Their technician, FRANK, showed up 45 minutes later. He eyeballed the job, returned to his truck, unloaded EVERYTHING needed to install the shade, got up on his ladder, measured everything perfectly, installed the shade and tie-down brackets, patched the holes in the exterior wall that I had clumsily made attempting to do it myself, explained that their work was guaranteed, collected the payment and left. He was a very nice guy, too; fun to chat with for a few minutes. I got a follow-up call form the company today just to make certain everything was done to my satisfaction. Mr. Handyman of Beverly Hills, Hollywood and the Valley is a really professional operation. Watching Frank at work, I really felt more than a little stupid about trying to do the job myself. I could easily have fallen through the glass window... and if I ever got the shade installed at all, it probably would have been crooked, or worse, broken off the wall the first time we needed to use it! Their rate is slightly higher than I've paid for handyman work in the past -- but their work is a lot better. You get what you pay for.

We are already ready to use them again. They were wonderful. We would give them the highest rating. They were polite and came when they said they would come. He gave us a break on the price when something happened that wasn't my fault. They were nice, friendly and very competent.

They always showed up and did the work within a reasonable amount of time. Workman were neat and articulate, and seemed to really care about quality. The jobs were pricey but worth it, and any flaw was quickly fixed without further charge.

They showed up and did what they have to do but their services are a little expensive.

I am extremely pleased with the work, especially the work on the stucco wall. I like the fact that the handyman had such diverse skills. He did excellent work. The prices for the work is not cheap, however. In future, I would hire them for large projects where the quality of the work mattered. I would skip them for little stuff that I could get done cheaper.

He was excellent and very professional. He gave us an Angies' List discount, too. His price was just about the same as what Lowe's quoted me for the same work. I would definitely call them again.

The tech (Manfred) came at the time agreed upon and immediately started work. Everything was done within 4 hours and even though I had a coupon, I still believe that it was expensive for the kind of work done. However, the job was done and I am happy with the results.

First the clock seemed to start when I met the truck in the lot. I mentioned he would need the tall ladder for the curtains & it took 10 minutes just to move it off the truck. I had all of the hardware for my curtain rod dom west elm (not cheap) and was told I needed to buy heavy duty hardware from them for $40 or they couldn't guarantee the rod would stay in the wall (I had wall anchors?) that really bothered me. But, the biggest problem was my priority project of the squeaky floorboards under my carpet, again it was discussed during the appointment call. when the handyman arrived he said he could not fix it. He did not have the tools to do it. I was not very happy since that was the most important repair followed by the curtains.

I was actually pleased at the service provided. The gentleman was polite, competent, and explained each step of the process. He explained the cost difference of his going out to replace the glass himself versus a glazier. He showed up on time for both trips and in the end, you can't tell that the window was ever broken and it was a very difficult window to remove and put back in. Overall, I was very happy with the work. It was a tad expensive but the window was difficult to remove and I was with him all the time so I know the difficulty first hand. I think that the fact that he was on time and started immediately on the work is what impressed me the most. As a rule, I tend to look for independent handymen by referral but I did not have that option this time. While hesitant to go "commercial", I was happy and would definitely consider these folks again.

The job took way to long. Parts were not on hand, and many trips to the hardware store could have been prevented by having a variety of sizes on hand. Another problem was getting a late in the day appointment which made the first visit run into the evening. Way too expensive, even with Angies List discount.

Frank Scarpelli was great. Arrived on time and fixed all our problems we had with our door. I would highly recommend him.
