It was good. As far as calling themselves as handyman, I would not exactly call that accurate in getting somebody to come. Well basically for quite a days to work for a thousand dollars, a handyman should be somewhere around $35 an hour. But because I was in a hurry to get it done, I just want them to do it. But they did a good job at what they did. They were very nice but it was too way expensive. I would not use them for a handyman service but I will use them for a contract or a more skilled labor. So if you will have them come out and just do some minor things, I would not use them. But if you want somebody to do a good job about a big work that you have then hire them. The guy was super nice. If I have a big job and if I have that money then I can probably rely on them.

I called on Monday to schedule, and first availability was that Friday. I asked if they could do it any sooner, but they were fully booked and offered to put me on a wait list in case something opened up sooner. I received a call the next day that they had a cancellation and could come the next morning (nice to see the wait list was real and not something they tell you to appease you!) Gil arrived on time, I showed him the projects I wanted done in order of priority since i thought they would take 3 hours to complete...he told me he thought they could likely be done in the 2 hour minimum. He got all of my 3 original projects completed about 90 minutes...realizing he was finishing quicker than expected I checked my to "do list" and added one more small project that took us just under the 2 hours. Gil left all areas he worked in clean and how he found them. Yes, the hourly cost may appear a bit higher than other services, but you get what you pay for...they are professional, fast, efficient and do excellent work. I will 100% use them again, and will refer them to anyone else who needs odd projects done.

Service was great, just seemed a little pricey.

I was really happy with the quality and caliber of work. The handyman was punctual, polite, efficient, and an excellent problem solver. Our front door had been sagging for a while, and it had gotten so bad that it wouldn't shut any longer. The handyman removed the door and leveled it out. Now the door opens and closes like a dream! The door that connects to the garage was starting to do the same thing, and he was able to fix that door quickly. He also took a look at some other complicated issues around the house and planned how he would address them on his next visit. I am not someone who knows a lot about home repairs, and it was a huge relief for me to have someone trustworthy take control of the problems. My only small issue is that the price is a bit steep for a couple of hours of work, but it is worth it to me to have a licensed and insured handyman who knows what he's doing. I will definitely be using them again.

I wasn’t thrilled. The first man I spoke to told me and that it could be done in two hours. They didn’t send the person they originally said that they would. The one they sent spent most of his time talking and wasn’t organized. He took too long and could only finish about half of the things of the list. He also told me that he couldn’t use the product that I purchased for my sanded steps and told me to replace the lighting fixture rather than changing the bulbs. I would get everything in writing before working with them.

He was outstanding. I really liked him and his ability to do everything in a short period of time. I will definitely use this company again.

We live in an area where we have coyotes. We have 2 cats that are strictly indoors. Although we love our cats we don't like the smell of a litter box. We came up with a creative idea to have a cat door installed and used a small dog house (which is outside) and placed the litter box in there. It works well. No problems. Our house does not smell like a litter box, the cats use the cat door without any problems. The cat door was installed pretty quick. The guy who came out was very professional and friendly. We have used them twice in the past. I gave them a "B" only due to the fact that I thought 300.00 bucks was a lot of money to install a door but well worth it. Would I use them again...YES!!!!

The Handyman showed up promptly at 8:00am to go over the details of the job. I showed him the outlets and where he could get access to the cables. We also planned to replace a ceiling fan / heater in the bathroom. He gave us an estimate of 5 hours. I thought the job wouldn't be longer than 2 so I added the ceiling fan, but after the quote of 5 hours I wanted him to get started on the wall outlets and see how long it would take. He told me he would probably be done in 3 - 4 hours for both the outlets and the fan. He wrote a list of supplies and left to get parts. Came back in probably 15 - 20 min and started working. It took him the full 4 hours to install the two outlets side by side. I told him we would do the fan another day because I didn't want to go into the 5 hours. He goes to his van to do the calculations, which took an unusual amount of time (not knowing if I was getting charged for it), I went out to check on things and he said he finished the costs. He wanted to charge me $135 for two boxes and cables. He said he installed expensive HD cables, which was never apart of the quote or requested by me. It was a popular thing they were installing in all the house. I told him we don't even have cable tv. I just wanted to move the box just in case we ever got it. Then I asked for the receipts and he told me Mr. Handyman charges a mark up on their materials and somehow that was a reason for not being able to show me receipts. So he told me he would cut me a deal and charge their whole sale price for regular cables and parts which came out to be $45 (which still cost more than home depot once I looked it up). So I asked him where did he go to buy supplies if he is charging me a whole sale price. There had to be a receipt from wherever he went. He said he had what he needed in the van for the job. These answers don't make sense! Did he go to the store to add time to the job? All the reputable handymen and contractors have given me receipts for the parts. Even the not so reputable ones did. I've been up-sold and scammed before, hence why I went to Angie's List. Hopefully writing this review will prevent it from happening again.

Once again Robin from Mr. Handyman was great. He showed up on time and got right to work. Very professional and they always clean up after the job and leave your home in great condition.

Robin Evans showed up right on time. He was polite, professional and a quick worker. All the little jobs took 3.5 hrs total, including a run to the hardware store to get light bulbs that matched our other pot lights. He recommended we follow-up on wiring in the other pot lights since the last contractor may not have used the best connectors and they were wearing out. We will definitely use Mr. Handyman again and hope they send Robin again.

Luis in scheduling was very helpful and responsive setting up the appointment. James arrived on time, and got right to work on our door repair. The doorjamb had to replaced, and he was true to his estimate (always appreciated). James was very responsive to my questions and concerns. My only piece of constructive criticism is that I wish they had been able to get to the job sooner, but I understand they were busy.

He was on time...professional...and honest. I appreciate that there was no"upsell". Great job! Never had a bad job from Angie's List

Gil showed up on time and ready to work on whatever I needed to have done. His attitude was great, and as he was present while other vendors were speaking to us, he kindly spoke up when he had something useful to contribute. Overall, he was very professional and knowledgable. While I have a hard time evaluating price (haven't used many handymen services), I can say that I was incredibly impressed by how easy it was to use Mr. Handyman. I contacted them via Angieslist. Luis, who scheduled the appointment and ensured that Gil had all the information necessary for him to have the right materials to do the work, made it clear that I didn't need to commit to a certain coupon or amount of time--that Gil could evaluate the job onsite and them offer me the appropriate coupon rate (plus material costs) depending on what he found. I give them high marks for communicating clearly, for their professionalism, and for making it so easy to use their service. Since the first visit, I have used the same handyman a second time, and also scheduled him again for a third visit.

Amazing. Took less than an hour. Dan suggested painting the wood coverings--I had matching paint to use. Now the raccoons will have to find another place to call home. Very satisfied with the work performed.

Gil came out and assessed an elaborate, custom, 11 year old wooden structure over our patio. I felt fairly certain that some of the wood was rotting and needed replacing. Gil walked every inch of the structure and tested the condition of the wood with a sharp tool. He informed me that it is in very good condition and does not need any replacement. It simply needs sanding, sealing, and finishing to better protect it so that it lasts longer. And while this is a bear of a job, it's a much more preferable fix than complete or partial replacement of the structure. I asked him to examine a damaged column on the back patio, and he carefully evaluated that issue. He explained in good detail how the column was constructed, how and why the damage might have occurred, and what types of specialists might be able to repair it. He also assessed several plumbing concerns for me and gave me information and advice. I will have him back for several renovations in the near future. The company was very professional in scheduling and communicating with me. Gil was courteous, thorough, ethical, and honest in his assessment of the issues. He was reasonable and conservative in a situation where the customer might easily have wasted a significant amount of money. Some individuals might have jumped at the opportunity to sell me unnecessary repairs. This experience was a breath of fresh air!

Again, Dan was outstanding!! He has spoiled me for anyone else. He arrived right on the minute and wrote down all my concerns. I thought I got the right kind of faceplates, but because our lights can be turned on from two areas, some of them did not fit. But, Dan went right to work and installed the ones he could and showed me, very specifically, the type I needed for the others. I had an outlet in the den that kept failing and I was concerned it might cause a spark or fire. He fixed it within minutes and my heater and tree lights worked perfectly. Then, he paused for just a moment and went to work to try and fix an outlet that I needed for outside to plug in some Christmas lights. I am sure it was frustrating for him since I had 4 power sources to the outside and, like a dummy, I didn't know which switch went to which area. No problem for Dan. He cheerfully tried all of them and finally rewired the whole thing and I had power outside and a landscape light - in a covered outlet, no less, for the first time in over 10 years.!! I was thrilled. I showed Dan a horrible job a former contractor did on a hall closet and he noticed the light in the closet was out. Without my even asking, he got a bulb and replaced it without fuss. AMAZING!! I needed some advice about lighting my address numbers at the bottom of my hill and Dan gave me some excellent suggestions, but NEVER pressured me to do the work for longer hours or more expense to me. He completed EVERYTHING I wanted and more during the time I had planned for and I even got a bit of a discount from Mr. Handyman since I am a regular customer. Whatever you have to fix, mend, change or do in your house ---- hire Mr. Handyman --- everyone there is great! Even Louis who answers the phone to make the appointments has always made the experience simple, pleasant and pain-free. I will ALWAYS hire this great company. Do yourself a favor and trust in them - you will never be disappointed. I certainly have not and am more impressed each time I use them.

Robin Evans did a wonderful job in every aspect down to the smallest detail. We will definitely use them for all of our Handyman needs and will certainly request Robin for every job. He was fantastic. So great to find professional help.

Arrived on time and performed the job very professionally and in a timely manner. At the end, he told me what he had done and the condition of the gutters and downspout he serviced

They fixed some things around the house that I couldn't find time to do myself because I was too busy. The job was very well done everything works well very pleased with everything they did.

When you use Mr. Handyman you have to understand that it is a minimum billing of two hours. They send someone out, he quotes the cost of the work, and when you okay it, he starts. You might get billed for time if you don't have the work done on that same day. So take care to line up one or more projects and have the materials on hand. The technician sent to me (Rob Evans) was courteous, helpful and efficient--the three projects that I lined up for him were completed in a total of 4 hours. 1. The top rail (to which all the pickets were attached) of my front gate was coming apart and would no longer hold the screws securing the latch mechanism. I purchased a 2x4 ahead of time, so Rob was able to go right to work on this. He disassembled the gate and replaced the top rail with the new wood, then reattached all the pickets and rehung the gate. (I later did the painting myself, or he would have done it.) 2. While Rob worked on the gate, I went out to purchase a replacement back door for the garage. Rob then cut it to fit and hung it. 3. The ChiliPepper contains a pump, tubing, and a temperature sensor. When you turn on the hot water tap, it reroutes water back into the system until hot water arrives at the faucet. That way you are not running water down the drain while you wait for hot water to arrive from the water heater. (This is especially useful if you have an on-demand, tankless water heater.) Rob installed the ChiliPepper. This involved cutting a hole in the cabinet to route the electrical line to an outlet, installing the switch, making all of the plumbing connections and then priming the pump. System works great. So, the handyman's skillset involved plumbing, electrical and carpentry. All jobs were completed to a good result.

Robin Evans was excellent and a very nice guy and he is a studio musician who has played with bands like the Red Hot Chili Peepers. I would recommend him to anyone for any handyman work they need to have done, he also gave me 10% off for being an Angie's List member.

Dan was incredible: competent, friendly, personable and willing to do anything I asked of him. My kitchen cupboard hinge had completely come off the door and I thought maybe he wouldn't be able to fix it without comprimising the nice look of the built-in cupboards. But Dan fixed it, with the exact same hinge, and the door works TERRIFICALLY well!! I loved your "door special" and still have LOTS of things to fix in our home. You can BET, I will call Mr. Handyman again and I hope that Dan will be able to come and help me out - although the man you sent before (whose name I can't remember: sorry!) to help me with some lighting and installation was equally good. I have great faith and trust in Mr. Handyman and will recommend you to all my friends. Plus, you sent me a $25 gift certificate for my next visit.....can't ask for better customer service than that. Thank you for being so wonderful, Mr. Handyman!!

We've had these services a few times now and so far their have repaired our front door, which is a metal framed glass door, which we always have problems with. We've also had locks replaced on other metal doors and we've had a dead bolt installed in one, in order to pass a security inspection. While Gil was here one day, we also mentioned that we'd been having problems with our sink leaking and that after calling a number of plumbers we still could not get service. Within an hour or so Gil had replaced our cracked pipe and installed new pipes so that we no longer have a leak.

I have had a stroke, so when Robin came in, I took him downstairs to the door. From then on, Robin came upstairs to keep me updated & get the payment. His work is AMAZING! He had to get some parts from a hardware store. I am VERY pleased with the work, and would DEFINATELY use Mr Handyman again.
