YOGI'S DRAIN SERVICE

We have been using Yogi's for many years, when Justin was the only plumber. Justin is pretty busy now, which is OK because all of his staff that he has hired since the inception have been incredible. We now see Mike most of the time when we have a problem or need some work done. Mike is a great guy, very professional and does great work. Yogi's is an amazing company and we can't recomend them more.

Joseph was very good, instantly knew he had to modify the old drain set up for the new sink and completed the drain. He was finished in a short time as he was very capable. When he left, the sink and area was spotless. I could not ask for more. John

I called around 2:30pm and my problem was solved by 4pm, awesome turn around, very prompt friendly service.

Everything was beyond my expectations. Having called several other plumbers who were either unable to respond in a reasonable time or quoted exorbitant prices for immediate weekend service Yogi's was a delight. They responded quickly to my message, quoted, using double time, an estimate considerably less than others, turned up in about an hour and, to my amazement (given previous experiences) were able to complete the job without disturbing my kitchen by using the roof vent.

Technician arrived, performed "basic" variant of clearing ($180). He explained to my wife (I wasn't there) that the root problem would soon return unless more "complete" variant of clearing was done (evidently using water jets or some such thing) at $340. She accepted this and arranged for that to be done the next day --- because the technician *had not brought the equipment* to do that. Sadly, she failed to consider that this was effectively paying them to do *nothing at all* the first day because those results would have been achieved (and in theory, surpassed) by the second clearing. So we paid $520 for the result of a $340 service.... oh, except for the one day that the $180 correction was in effect --- one day that would not even have happened if the company sent its people out with the right equipment in the first place. But maybe that's intentional, given how it worked out for the company. Once I raised this issue, my wife agreed that it seemed odd, and she contacted the company. They said "too bad" (in nicer language, of course, but that was the message). So in the end, it's true that the services done --- if not *usefully*, but yes, done --- are what we paid for. In dealing with any of this kind of service provider, one must anticipate and cope with attempted up-selling. Some companies are worse about it than others. This one may or may not be any worse than most; I don't have experience with others. But these guys were bad enough. But I will definitely *not* deal with this bunch again. UPDATE after provider responded: Some of what they explain does seem reasonable. I retract the intentional-upselling accusation. But I do think there was a difference between the ultimate charges and the actually-relevant service.

Prompt, thorough, professional, friendly. Assessed problems quickly, communicated well, reasonable prices, excellent work.

Got the job done quickly and left the work area clean.

My patio in the backyard was flooding because a drain was obviously clogged. I called a plumbing company I had used once before for an indoor plumbing issue. They sent out a couple guys with a "roto-rooter" type machine and after an hour, had removed some tree roots but had not solved the problem. They said that was all they could do, more work would be involved, and they would send out an estimate. The estimate was outrageously high (nearly 3 times what I ultimately paid Yogi's) and included work that did not need to be done. After arguing with the owner of that company, I went on Angie's List and found Yogi's. I called and the owner, Greg, asked some questions and concluded that a higher-powered machine was needed. He sent out a crew with the machine, a "jetter", which blew out quite a bit more debris from the pipes and which allowed the crew to locate the section of pipe that needed to be replaced. Because the additional work to replace the pipe could not be done until a few days later, the crew fashioned a trench along the patio's edge to divert the water to another drain line. That worked. When Yogi's employee John Bryant returned to replace the pipe, he determined that about 6-8 feet of pipe was completely and solidly jammed full of tree roots. He spent an entire day excavating, removing tree roots, removing the damaged sections of pipe, disconnecting and later reconnecting irrigation lines in the way of the excavation, removing the tree roots that were nearby, relocating a large plant that was also in the way, installing new drain pipe, cleaned out the remaining pipes that were partially blocked, reconnected the entire system, and tested everything before restoring the landscape area to its original state. He cleaned up the entire work area before he finished his work. John was very professional, and kept me informed of what he was doing as well as communicated to me any questions or issues he encountered so that I could make intelligent decisions. Overall, this was a very satisfactory experience. I received good service, and the problem was solved efficiently and at a fair price. I highly recommend Yogi's.

Our kitchen sink was backing up and nothing seemed to work. It was over a weekend and family was in town so we needed a fix. I called Yogi's, someone answered, was very kind, and scheduled an appointment for later that Sunday afternoon. They even worked around our time. The plumber showed up on time, new the cause of the blockage, and using the clean out line on the side of the house snaked the line. We were cleared and the process took about 30-40 min. The rate for a weekday would have been cheaper at $85 but I found the rate fair nonetheless for the work performed. Some drain services are outrageous. I would not hesitate to use Yogis again.

They appeared within an hour, provided an estimate that was about $400 less than another plumber from the day before, then did the work in about three hours. Great response, price and work product.

Work was performed as expected. No problems.

He said he would come by that afternoon. They didn't come by or call that day or the next day. I forgot about it for a while but I called them a few weeks later and they were very apologetic about it.

The plumber was dispatched to our hour house quickly and replaced the fittings in a way that was were easier to use than the original fittings.

Talked to Greg late Friday about replacing my water heater (non-emergency). He said he would call me Monday morning (non-emergency) with a new water heater ready. Sure enough Greg called and then showed up with Alex and a new water heater to install. Done by 11:30 am Monday morning for a price $300 or $400 less than anyone else I talked to. And while they were waiting for the tank to fill, Greg noticed that the gas line to my furnace looked old, so he tested it and found a leak. He happened to have a gas line with him, so he replaced it free of charge, including welding on a new valve. Can't beat that!

Work done at my mother-in-law's house...Problem solved. She reported prompt, courteous, fast, reasonably priced, professional service. Every aspect of service was perfect. Definitely use them again.

I was within two days of needing to have all my inspections done on a new home purchase. Following a recommendation of our home inspector, we decided to do the sewer inspection due to the age of the property. I called in the morning and they had Joe complete the inspection in the afternoon and I was provided the results the same day so I had time to make decisions. I was very impressed with this prompt service. I am looking forward to using this company in the future for all my plumbing needs.

He unhooked the stopper and cleaned the hair and lint buildup around the stopper. After that the water flow was normal again. He explained everything he was doing and I appreciated that.

That was a bad move. It was a small job. I was very disappointed. They had some roots in there and they covered the roots. They finished the job but they still had some roots. I thought they were going to have a roto-rooter to get the roots out. It didn't do any good to replace the pipes. We still have roots in the pipe where it's connected to. They said that they'll come back tomorrow and drain from the outside from the curb. They couldn't get to it from the curb because it was damp inside. They tried to get it in some other ways. Basically, the pipes in the curbs had to be replaced anyway so we can't do it. I said "Well, I'm going to have somebody else to go out do this." I'm going to go to a small claims court and call back my money and that's with the difference I paid him. I purposely called him and made an appointment on Friday for a Monday. I said that I wanted an early appointment because I wanted the work started. They didn't start until one o'clock because the person he had to work on it has a full-time job and he does this as a part time. He can go in at 1 o'clock. It really upset me. The problem was none of his fault. he work wasn't that square but it was not complete. Basically, he had to go on to do another part-time job not related to the plumbing. He had to come the next day to finish up the drain but he didn't. If he tried to get it from the inside when he was right there and he saw the roots and do the roto-rooter part to get the roots out, we wouldn't have problems with other things. He didn't have time and he wanted to come back the next day. He didn't want to redo the whole thing up and undo what he did to get out from the inside. He did part of the job. I thought we had an appointment at an 8 to 9 o'clock window but he had no intention to starting the job. I would absolutely not use them in the future.

Greg, the owner came himself to give estimate and start work with very capable assistants. All staff were courteous, friendly, knowledgable and completely professional.. Have use them before and will keep them on speed-dial!

On Sunday I noticed water coming from the slab in my garage. I checked to see where it was coming from and noticed the water faucet for my washer was leaking at the handle. I went on Angie's List and found Yogi's plumbing. I called them and they sent Greg and his crew the same day. They arrived on time, were very professional. They were able to change the spigots and hoses quickly for about $220. They left and my mom went out front and found the water was still coming out of the slab. We called them back and they came right back. Greg was able to diagnose the problem immediately and cap off the water. The water was turned back on and he said he would do his best to get someone back out in the morning. The following day another plumber arrived and was able to reroute the capped off pipe to the kitchen faucet. I was so relieved we did not have tear up walls and it did not cost my whole paycheck! I definitely recommend this company!

Justin was fantastic! He was professional, knowledgeable and very efficient. I expected to pay double what he charged. I have had this issue before the plumber didn't fix it and still charged me way more money. Yogi's drain service was honest and effective. I would most definitely recommend them to anyone he needs a trustworthy plumber!!!!

Contacted Yogi's drain service by phone about clogged drain in an apartment building we own in Oceanside, CA. They coordinated the appointment with the tenant and cleared the stoppage on the same day. They charged less than other services we called.

We may never know how plumbing realizes it's Saturday night and decides to go on strike, but that's the way it is. I called Justin on the off chance he would answer his phone and direct me to a 24 hour service. Instead, this nice guy answers the phone, explains he's on a roof just now but can be over in about an hour. And he was. He cleared the drain and then offered the option of running a camera to see what was really going on but he did that in a totally no-pressure manner. My overall impression that Yogi's offers great service, Justin is both nice and smart and I'd use them again in a heartbeat (but of course hope I never have to.... don't tell my plumbing!)

.Showed up on time. Did a camera inspection of the Lateral Sewer Llne and found small roots the last 6 feet of the lateral going to the Main Line. Ran a snake to clean out the roots. The city Sewer Department was there to catch the root ball as it entered the Main Line. Did another camera inspection to verify the roots were gone and gave me a video of the camera inspection. GREAT JOB ! On time and price as quoted on the telephone.
