Purchased 1 box of additional Mannington hardwood flooring planks for the floors of our home that was previously installed by West Coast a few years ago. The new box I purchased was the identical product and carried the same part number/specifications as the existing flooring in my home. No mention was made to me that the new box might have different dimensions as the current flooring. After their contractor began tearing up the existing flooring to begin to lace in the new boards, we discovered that the new boards were manufactured with different dimensions and did not fit the existing installation. West Coast advised me to continue with the installation and pay an additional $500 for to install the defective/mis-specified flooring. After discussions with West Coast management and explanations of my situation, West Coast Flooring repeatedly refused to provide a refund or any credit to compensate me on the additional installation costs on the defective product. They did offer to provide a 1% discount on a future $6000 job if I chose to use their company. The frustrating part was West Coast's disrespectful and uncooperative customer service (did not return calls, passed me off between at least 3 different people, failed to take responsibility for their mistake). I've also learned that the Hardwood flooring box that I purchased was sold to me at a 33% higher price than other Mannington Flooring resellers. This in and of itself should be sufficient warning for everyone to exercise due diligence before using West Coast.
Description of Work: Sold hardwood flooring and supplies from the Mannington product line. Consulted on installation method.

We were looking to have wood floors installed in our entire home. Our experience at the showroom was unsatisfactory. We were there for approximately 1.5-2 hours before anybody even said anything to us. I understand that the reps may have been helping other customers, but a quick acknowledgement of other customers goes a long way. Eventually a sales rep spoke to us because my husband and I stood right by his desk and stared at him. They actually have a great selection of materials, but the customer service was sorely lacking. Also, had my husband and I never gone to another flooring store we would have had no idea how to go about comparing the woods. We still had WC Flooring (Daniel) come out and give us an estimate because we have good friends that used them and their wood floors turned out beautifully. The estimate went smoothly, but initially their bid was several thousand dollars above the other two bids we had received for the exact same products and service/installation. Later, when I gave them a courtesy call to let them know that we were going with another company their manager (Shane) called back with a lower price. IIt went back and forth like this several times and Shane and Daniel kept saying that "mistakes" had been made in the initial estimate. n the end, their price was brought down to be competitive with the other two companies. But I am concerned for the customer who does not catch these kinds of mistakes. I am sure that WC would have gladly taken the cost of the initial, super-high quote had we never said anything. There were also a couple of discrepancies/inaccuracies with later bids in terms of changes they had made to the materials we wanted (without consulting us). Again we were told these were mistakes, but you have to wonder. Do I think I would have been happy with the product and their install? Probably, based off of their work that I have seen in a friend's home. But could I have done without the hassle of so much back and forth? Definitely. And would I have wanted to pay that initial price? Not so much. Just be careful, when you get a bid from WC Flooring. And I recommend dealing directly with Shane. I found him to be much more straightforward and more capable of getting to the bottom line faster.

I visited their showroom 5 or 6 times. I requested samples that did not arrive even after 6 weeks. Yet we received calls that the samples had arrived but they had not. I visited many flooring showrooms. This is the only one that charged a deposit to take home samples and the only one that demanded they be returned in 24 hours. I selected flooring, received an estimate which was considerably higher than 2 other places that provided an estimate for the same product and installation. They did not return calls as they said they would. It was a very frustrating experience. I decided to go elsewhere.

We did not use this company because of their showroom policy of hiding the prices.
Description of Work: We went into this store to select carpet. I asked the receptionist where the prices were on the samples and she called a salesman. He said first we have to pick out what we like and then they look up the price! I said we need the price information too in order to make a selection. There is no way to compare quality against price in any reasonable timely way in this store. I guess they want you to be committed to your choice before you know the price. Are they afraid of comparative shopping and competition? We walked out.

They took my keys to my home and when I came back the job was completed and looked just perfect. They also recommended me to spend a little extra money on 100% Nylon-Bur-Bur carpet because it doesn't mat down like Olefin carpet. The high traffic areas have not mated down at all. I didn't want seams and the rolled linoleum looks great.
Description of Work: Originally I was going to have engineer flooring installed. They removed my carpet and they told me that there was too much dipping. So I picked out vinyl flooring and they said that wouldn't work and it would be dipping as well eventually. So I then picked out rolled linoleum for my kitchen bathroom and laundry room and carpet for the rest of the house.
