Pro Trees

Pro Trees discouraged using chemicals to get rid of the pests and instead did several treatments to make the trees healthier. They also told me that the way I was watering was bad for the trees and told me how to do it properly. The trees are definitely looking better now, and I am satisfied. My only complaint is that they don’t communicate very well. A lot of time passed after I agreed to have the first treatment done, with no word from them. Someone was supposed to call and schedule it, but I ended up having to call them. Same thing with the second treatment. This time months went by and then finally someone called to say they had not forgotten me but were having some problems with the brew they use to treat the trees. Then one day they just showed up without notice and did the treatment. Everything turned out okay and I am happy with the work. I think they know what they are doing and do an excellent job, but I do think they should communicate more promptly with clients.

My whole yard has so much more sun now that Theron and his team worked in my yard. They are punctual, efficient, friendly and do a great clean-up. The work is scheduled and completed quickly. Theron, an arborist, also provided hints on how to benefit the other trees in my yard.

Pro Trees did an outstanding job. We first needed Theron's help with diagnosing the health of our olive tree. After heeding his advice for almost a year, we decided to remove our olive tree and move on. The Pro Trees crew was very professional, punctual, and performed high quality work. We would definitely use Pro Trees again should the need come up. Highly recommended. Simply outstanding.

It didn't. They weren't responsive at all. I was very patient but after numerous emails and phone calls (that were always answered by VM) I gave up and went with another service.

Very good. I contacted him in the morning. By early afternoon he'd stopped by and taken care of it for me. I appreciated the quick response.

It was a very good experience. They were prompt in arriving and they did the job that I expected them to do in the time frame that I expected. They were professional and they cleaned up very good. I would this provider again in the future.

Overall, okay. I'm not greatly disappointed nor thrilled, sort of a B- type of feeling about it. I got the quote, liked Theron, we discussed the three different "options" and he quoted each component seperately. So the "lite" version was $750, the added citrus area was +$250, and the deadwood clean out was +$300. He talked about keeping the oaks healthy (in a small suburban yard, keeping other plants away from the area, discussed nature of live oaks and California plants. All in all well explained etc. The one thing that was (is still) a concern for me is the lack of concern expressed over what may be oak bark beetles. Not sure if this was b/c it's not an area of specialty or what but I do feel it was sort of dismissed. I was planning on getting the work done in late Nov but with the hot weather I couldn't (bad for oaks). When it *finally* cooled off it was mid Dec and I really wanted to get it done before the end of the year. I emailed and inquired if it could be done. They replied that it was very busy but they could do the trimming one day and the clean up another day. I was not *specific* in what option I wanted done and they did not confirm. I wrote back to remind them to leave any larger wood and mulch and to please call me in the A.M because I could not meet them, that was on the 15th. I didn't hear back (and I didn't call, so my bad too). They trimmed on the 16th, OMG did they trim. Guess I got the $1300 by default. They left no wood and no mulch. The clean up took place on the 19th and was neat and tidy. A few things and why I didn't rate them higher; this is common in 'trade professions' and I should know better . . .If communication is primarily via email it needs to be checked SEVERAL times per day - otherwise (I find) it's misleading the customer to believe the company is tech savvy. I didn't get an email until the day after the job was done. I still haven't gotten an invoice although I did note there was a "please send a check xxx" in the email. (I need an invoice for tax purposes!) If there are options that have been discussed a company looking to deliver excellent customer service must ask the customer for verification on what option they have decided to go with. It may ultimately be my responsibility but then that doesn't *provide* customer service. I had asked them to leave the mulch and Theron had offered a discount. I didn't get either. So the good: They squeezed the job in on short notice, they did the job described, they cleaned up and took care with the other plants etc. I didn't find things broken or other plants trashed (I have with other companies). All very good qualities. The bad: Communication lacked, I ended up "buying" the most expensive service and paying $1300. vs. the $750 I would have selected (I will take some responsibility for this but still it's disappointing.) The questions: Why no referal regarding a horticulture specialist to check for oak bark beetle. Why use email if it's not the best way of communicating. Why wasn't mulch left as discussed (and on proposal).

I am not sure about the price because it was my brother that paid for it but it was reasonable. They were very professional and knew what they were doing. Their clean up was fine.

The representative responded quickly to my initial call and surveyed the situaation and offered some valuable advice and gave me an estimate. In a day or two I called and confirmed the order and it was fulfilled the following morning. I couldn't have been more pleased.

I liked him. We have a lot of trees and he has done a good job. I used him twice. The price was very good and the cleanup was excellent. They did a good job. He is an arborist. We have sort of a park particularly in our front yard and we wanted somebody that wasn't just going to hack limbs off. He kept the artistic look of the trees in the park. The first time he was out I really did a price comparison.

I've been using them for years and it was fine. I don't know if my neighbor will let us use them again because for one of the trees they have to go into our neighbors yard. I set it up with the neighbor for the time, but they went down to their property through a hill rather than through their gate. My neighbor was so upset they made them stop. They've been doing work for me and another neighbor for years and they've been really good but for the past two times they went down the hill instead of using the gate and it creates this problem. They said they would make sure and do it the next time but they said that the first time. They did a great job on my tree and I think they would have done a great job on my neighbors tree if they would have been able to finish. It seems like all the tree companies are alike, I might use them again because they've been doing it for years but I don't know. If I can find someone better then I'll try them. I also don't know if my neighbor down the road will let me use them again.

Very happy with the results, and will use Pro Trees again without hesitation.

Theron did a great job. Nice guy. He was really helpful with working around my busy schedule. It was over the holidays; I was on a short time frame and needed someone to come do the work when I was out of town. He met with me beforehand, and did exactly what I needed him to do.

I wasn't here when they performed the work but it looked fine when I got home to check it over. The price was better than I expected and the work was as good or better than other companies I have used.

Arrived on-time to provide the estimate. Promised me a $50 discount if I agreed to wait a couple of weeks until the company could bundle my job with others in the my area. I agreed to this, however Pro Trees did not provide the discount offer to me in writing. They performed the tree pruning about two weeks after providing the estimate, and the work done was exactly as promised and expected. However they neglected to provide me with the $50 discount as promised verbally at the time of estimate and I had to call back after the work was complete to secure the discount. Also, the cost of the work that was performed was high - $405 to prune two trees. I would be inclined to shop around a little harder next time I have a need like this.

Everything went really well. Their service is very personalized, and the guy was very knowledgeable about the trees. He was unhurried in the consultation, and I was very happy with them.
