Description of Work: "Stephen is an artist come painter. He is not the typical churn and burn operation. If you are looking for a quick and dirty, and cheap paint job he is not necessarily the right person to go with. If you are looking for a high quality and meticulous painter look no further. His prices are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.I compared him with several of the other highly rated painters on Angie’s list. We decided to go with him because of his attitude, experience, and skill level. We had a little bit of a tricky job because there was a lot of drywall imperfections that we wanted repaired or mitigated during the course of painting. Stephen said that he would do the best job he could given the circumstances and he truly did work very hard at it. The place looks so much better compared to when we bought it.There were multiple components to our job which illustrates the diversity of work that Stephen can perform. It was so nice to not have to get multiple vendors to perform each of these functions, which would have been much more costly.1- Painted the entire interior of our house including walls, doors, window sills, ceiling.2- Wallpaper and preparation of the surfaces with oil based primer. Stephen is an excellent wall paper hanger and significantly cheaper than others that just hang wallpaper.3- Faux finish work done on our dining room chandelier which came out spectacular.4. Staining work in the kitchen which matched very nicely with our existing stain. He is thoughtful and detail oriented. He has a great attitude and never complained. We entrusted him with keys to our house and minimal supervision for the initial 2 weeks of the project. Stephen does not come to the house with a crew of guys like some other bigger operations do but he makes up for it by putting in about 12 hours per day 7 days a week. (Which is equivalent to about 2.5 guys working 5 days a week). Its well worth the slightly extra time given the quality of his work. And if you are not at home you can feel secure knowing that there is one trustworthy person at your house. Stephen was an absolute pleasure to work with. The quality of his work was A+. I would highly recommend him for any job big or small.

Description of Work: Steve and Josh did a great job painting the stucco exterior of my house. Steve made multiple trips to the house painting swatches of different colors before the job actually started, just to make sure that the final color would be a perfect match. After he had given me a written estimate for the job, he recommended upgrading the paint in the estimate to a more expensive brand made specifically for masonry and stucco (and ended up not increasing the final price after the job was finished, even though I asked for a revised bill!). These guys could not be nicer, neater, or more professional. The stucco on my house is surrounded by a different color wood trim, so I got out a can of this paint for touch-ups, but because of the care they took in prep and application, they never needed a drop! And thier price was one of the most competitive of the three other Angie's list painters I got estimates from. This was probably my best experience using an Angie's list contractor over the last few years.

Description of Work: Repaired dry-wall damage and re-plastered where kitchen cabinets had been removed. Painted kitchen ceiling and walls, dining room wall, main entry stairway wall.

Description of Work: Painted living room and two bedrooms with paint I had previously picked out. Moved furniture to get the job done, and let himself in and out with a key I left. During estimate, he also estimated the amount of paint I would need, and expressed the opinion that it would require 2 coats (both hepful pieces of info, as I didn't have enough for two coats, but it was easy to remedy before he even started).

Description of Work: Painted a large bedroom, small hallway, and bathroom. Helped us to choose better colors than we would have chosen on our own. Excellent work done efficiently.

Description of Work: Stephen painted the entire interior and exterior of our 2400 sq. ft. house, less than a few small interior areas with wallpaper, as well as revarnishing most of the kitchen, bathroom cabinets, and plantation shutters. This was preceded by careful preparation of all surfaces. He power washed the tile roof and all exterior surfaces. With our encouragement he helped substantially in choosing the color scheme for both inside and outside. He has an excellent sense of color.

Description of Work: Painted 2 children's rooms, a bathroom, removed a door mounted mirror, refinished and repainted the door, and oiled all exterior wood doors in our home. Also, we did not have any of the children's rooms paint leftover from the last job, but wanted them painted the exact same color; he took a small paint sample and matched the color perfectly the first time. Same with the doors and baseboards; those are a different color than the walls, but he matched them perfectly without any issue whatsoever.

Description of Work: Steve painted ceilings throughout the house that had been scraped, including two large wood beams, and repainted the kitchen and half bathroom. The wood beams were dark and were painted white, so that took several coats, and the kitchen and bathroom were dark red and we painted them light yellow, so that also took several coats.
