Description of Work: He came over and took care of a bookcase and also put a new hose on our dishwasher. He also fixed a light and assembled some lamps.

Description of Work: He did an excellent job replacing a cabinet hinge and fixing a laminate floor that was coming up.

Description of Work: Before coming to the house, Rob explained his minimum charge ($50.00 for one hour's labor). Rob completed two small jobs for us quickly, efficiently, and inexpensively. The first job was a broken ice maker and since it was our priority, he worked on that first. By asking me questions and performing some tests, Rob correctly diagnosed the problem as a water-delivery issue. There were several possible reasons for this. Rob troubleshot each possibility, found the culprit and fixed the ice-maker in under an hour's time. The second job was a split gate post on our front gate. The post had already split four or five years ago and my partner and I had fixed it. We did not strengthen our fix by using gate hinge screws that were long enough to help support the then-glued post. As a result, the post split again. Rob repaired the split again and did use the longer screws. In addition, he added a back stop to the gate so that if/when the gate swings the wrong way, it doesn't torque the post and encourage another split. Both of Rob's repairs were smart and cost conscious. Had he quickly diagnosed the valve on the water line to the ice-maker instead of checking out all possibilities, we would have purchased another valve and had him install it. Instead, he checked all the possibilities and found that a portion of the feed tube that went into the freezer was collapsed because the directional feeder was bent incorrectly. He repositioned everything to make it work correctly and it has been working well for almost a week. By the same token, he didn't automatically call for replacement of the gate post even though it had split before. He took care to do only what was needed. In total Rob spent about two hours at our house (perhaps a bit less). He was careful to take care of our things and to take the time to figure out how to fix them with time and attention as opposed to replacing them. In addition, he is articulate and asks clear questions to discover the history of the problem. It was abundantly obvious to me that Rob has a great stake in repairing things correctly and in a way that will last. I am 100% satisfied with Rob's work. To have someone come to our house and fix two vexing problems for under $100 is a miracle!

Description of Work: Over the years, Rob has done tons of work for me, including changing locks, building a gate, installing ceiling fans, small plumbing and electrical, hanging heavy pictures, etc. The cost varied every time, based on the time he spends. He is very reasonable, and honest about what he can and can't do.
