Mike, one of the owners of Advantage Handyman Services did an outstanding job. He was very professional, friendly and on time. The work area around the house was cleaned up each night. At the end of the project , he and I walked around the entire project. He wanted to make sure i was happy with the results of his work BEFORE he was paid. Nice touch. The work Mike performed was perfect. I could not be happier. I would recommend Phillip Advantage Handyman Service to anyone. Thank you Mike for a job well done.

Phillips does not do clogged drains, water heaters, water filtration, standing water at side of house, sewer services. I purchased this coupon and haven't used it because they don't do anything I need.

Mike removed the original shower tile, shower door and plumbing fixtures. He completely retiled the shower, installed new plumbing fixtures, vanity light, and removed the vanity (the new vanity will be installed when it?s delivered in November). Mike?s attention to detail was great and his workmanship is superb. I will definitely hire him in the future.

Played phone tag from 9/21/15 when I initially contacted this provider to install a hard-wired combo CO2/Smoke detector until 10/5/15. Contact dates were 9/21, 9/23, 9/27, 10/2, 10/4, 10/5 last contact 10/7 -- I gave up. Wasted a lot of time. I've seen his truck around town. Last time was intersection of Bruceville & Laguna -- about 1/4 mile from where I live. Philips Advantage never would commit or confirm an actual appointment. Kept trying to squeeze me into an already busy schedule or at the end of his appointments -- Last try was Saturday, 10/5/15. Told Mike previously, that I would call around 2:30. I called about 2:40 pm Saturday 10/5/15 and left a message. Mike called back around 4:30ish that afternoon I had already left home after waiting for his call. Hopefully, I'll have better luck with the next Angie's List service provider. At least they gave me an appointment date and time.

It did not go at all. It is very bad for your name if you keep recommending this provider.

I researched toilet work on Angie's List and Phillips came up with more installs and reseats than anyone else. I made the appointment a while in advance with the understanding that they might call if there was a chance to do it earlier. But that did not happen... Mike showed up exactly on time and went right to work. It took an hour or less. He cleaned up afterwards and the toilet was solid as a rock when he was done. It had sort of rocked back and forth before. Overall a good job, done on time and for a reasonable price. That should not be a lot to expect but these days it really counts for something. It is not easy to find someone competent to do small jobs, so Mike is a real find. I would definitely hire him again.

While it was difficult to get new melamine boards inside the small cabinet opening and the job took longer than expected, Mr. Phillips did an excellent job. He also did not charge me more than our agreed upon price. With regard to the cracks on my garage floor and the insulating wrap, he advised they did not need any work at this time/just needed to be watched. I appreciated his honesty. Mr. Phillips took his time to explain things to me in good detail. I plan on hiring him again.

Phenomenal! I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and timeliness of the work that was done. Even when several problems with my electrical system was detected Mike worked hard to troubleshoot and ultimately completed all work without an additional fee.

Great! He knows a lot about ALL kinds of household repairs. He has previously helped us with fencing, electrical, and other plumbing inside our house.

He was punctual, polite, and knowledgable. He is confident and takes extreme pride in his work.

He furnished Kelly Moore paint in the color I requested, and was very meticulous in taping everything so no paint would seep onto windows or frames. He sprayed and then backrolled the stucco, and hand rolled everything else. I've used Phillips Advantage Handyman Services several times now, and have always been pleased with the price and result.

I was a bit taken aback when he had to go to Home Depot to purchase the valve and then return to install it,but all seemed well with the installation, and the valve worked fine for a year or so. Then, either due to installer error or manufacturing defect, a large crack developed in the (new, installed) hot water connection, and it has caused $14,000 worth of mold and water damage. So much for a good deal.

Im not sure what protocol there is when you are trying to establish a professional relationship with a business. Is there a book that lets you know how to inform someone you arent interested in doing the job? If so I wish this person would read up on it.....After making the appt the owner came to my house and we went through step by step what I needed done, in fact he actually fixed a couple of things free, which I thought was a great tool to use to show your skills and get the job. We talked about the work, he was very friendly and appeared interested, told me he would work up an estimate and get back to me. I was very hopeful that I had finally found the person who could help me keep my cute old house up to par. He and my friend actually chit chatted briefly then he was on his way. My friend and I discussed how positive the interaction was. So, I waited for the estimate, and I waited and waited. I texted, no response, I emailed......got a response that the address I sent my email to "didn't like me" and wasn't accepting emails from me......never got a response like that before. I was finally getting a clue that this guy, who supposedly makes his living being a handyman which I believe should include courtesy to possible customers from the first phone call to the last, even if the last one is "sorry, i can't take on your job right now." This guy just disappeared. I wasted time I did not have waiting for him to get back to me, which he said he would do. I find this behavior rude and unprofessional and quite frankly it confuses me how someone in this business would conduct themselves in this manner and still maintain a viable business. I guess he just decided there was something he didn't like about me and just blew me off. I felt that I was friendly, informative, open and honest about what I needed done and I felt we had established a rapport and we could work together. I understand that phone call, texts, emails etc can go missing but when someone tells you they will get you an estimate I believe it is on them to follow through, he did not. I would not hire or recommend him. Update. The day after I posted this review I received my estimate......26 days after our initial contact.

We originally asked Mike to just come and fix some drywall before we put our house up for sale. Between scheduling and the time he arrived, we had another issue come up regarding some closet doors. We had planned to prep and hang them ourselves, but it turned out to be a bigger job than expected as the doors were too long and needed to be cut down. The day he arrived, we asked if we could add this in, and did. On the spot. Done same day. I cannot express how thrilled I was to get everything done at once! It put us ahead of schedule for putting the house on the market. He was the first one I have hired in the area that treated me like my time and money was valuable. Would hire him again in heartbeat!

He was extremely helpful in troubleshooting even though he the problem wasn't resolvable. He was professional,friendly and on time.

I spoke to Mike and he said to call his office to schedule an appointment for an estimate. On Feb. 14th, I called the office and left a message for Trish. On Feb. 18th, Trish called me back. I explained that I wanted an estimate for some work and Trish told me Mike does bids at night. She scheduled an appointment for between 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM on Feb. 23rd. On Feb. 23rd, I waited from 5:00 PM until 7:45 PM. I called the office number and received no answer so I tried Mike's cell number with the same result. I left a message on the cell number that we had an appointment and I was waiting for his arrival. I received no response and he didn't show up. On Feb. 24th, 8:12 AM I called Mike's cell again; no answer. At 10:16 AM I called the office and left a voicemail message for Trish. I never received a call back.

Everything went very well. Mike arrived on time and quickly started the jobs. The replacement of the exhaust fan turned out to be significantly more difficult than expected, but he worked quickly and was able to resolve all the issues and get the new fan installed. While installing the new light dimmer switch, he discovered that the previous electrician (who installed all the kitchen LED lights and switches) failed to hook up the grounding wires on two switches. Mike corrected the mistake at no extra charge while installing my new dimmer switch. It cost him about 15 minutes extra and he could easily have ignored the problem, but his integrity obligated him to bring it to my attention and do the job correctly. I'm very pleased with his work and I'll call him again the next time I need a handyman.

The old dishwasher was installed very unprofessionally so Mike had to get creative to put in the new one. There was no outlet for the garbage disposal so that had to be done also. My tenant called to say how great it all looked. She was thrilled. Mike sent photos and I'm very happy with the look of it. I will most definitely be calling Mike for any job that comes up in the future.

Mike arrived as promised and removed the old ceiling fan. He installed the new fan and cleaned up the area. A job well done!

Repaired sub-area framing, Install new presure treated sub-area framing, procured and installed deck boards, Installed joints between floor beams,reinstall 4x4 step posts, replaced damaged lattice, reconstruct left and right entry stairs. Disposed of all damaged boards and framing.

Will be coming back to remodel my main bathroom. Very pleased with his willingness to come late and charged far less than I expected. I definitely will be using him for a variety of repairs in the future.

My garbage disposal stopped working and I called for an appointment. Trish the office manager called Mike and described my issue before returning my call. When she did, Mike had recommended trying a couple things before he came out, to see if I could fix it. She described what to do and I was on my way to the hardware store for allen wrenches. I had it up and running in 2 minutes. Mike and Trish could have just scheduled the appointment and collected my money but this experience has shown how good and trustworthy they are.
