Jim Moylen and his assistant reroofed my house 4 1/2 years ago. They were prompt and efficient. They first had to remove the existing HardiShake tiles, which was a bit complicated. The new Duration Premium Cool Shingles look great and seem to be fulfilling their purpose in keeping my home dry in the winter and cool in the summer. A year ago, I referred Jim to my son and daughter-in-law and they did hire him to reroof their house just before they sold it.

They are really good. I could recommend them. We feel pretty confident with them. We have got several bids and he was the best. We've called several people that he put on the list to look at the roof. They worked within the time. They were very good. He was willing to work with us and he was personable. He tells me exactly what he's going to do and he writes it all down. He is a really thorough person. He said that he would probably be able to start this coming week. The job will be finished within a couple of weeks. His professionalism is excellent.

I wanted an A listed Angie's contractor who was in the Sacramento area (I did not call those contractors listed in Vallejo, Rocklin, Auburn, Roseville, Fairfield, etc). I called 4 and had 1 other referral from a friend. I almost didn't call Jim since he was in Elk Grove. He answered my call himself, and would have come out the afternoon of the morning I called, but I couldn't make it (he was working a job in the area). He came out the next a.m., measured and assessed the roof, went to his truck, and gave us an estimate moments later. Others e-mailed a few days to a week later. He called 3 days later and offered that after thinking about our needs that we could go for replacing the ridgeline tiles as our entire roof probably had 3-6 years left in its lifetime. He provided us with options/information to consdier. One of the other contractors had suggested the same, but before we could decide on what to do with that information, Jim had called, leaving a message that corroborated with the other contractor's suggestion. Jim came out on Saturday, showed us again the 4 classes of shingles he used, described the benefits of each, provided estimates for the middle 2 (we opted for Owens Corning Oakridge, level 2) explaining the pluses/minuses, and we opted to do the whole roof. His demolition crew came out Monday a.m., stripped the old roof off to the plywood underneath by lunch, and the materials crew and roofing crew showed up after lunch and started the padding and roofing. Jim was also part of the roofing crew,they left as it got dark. They came back the next morning, and were done shortly after lunch. After having watched a number of those DIY network horror movie stories, I expected at least some drama (unexpected hangups). From my perspective, this was an easy in and out gig. My hope is that I will never have to use Jim again since that would mean that his work had failed. But I strongly encourage anyone looking for this service to consider Jim Moylen. Very courteous and professional.

Jim Moylen was a pleasure to work with from the day he came on time to give us an estimate until the day he arrived to be sure all was proper with the new roof and that we were satisfied. He and his crew were pleasant, respectful of our property, timely, efficient, and did thorough, quality work. We were very glad we had selected his company to replace our large old shake roof.

I really liked them. They gave us an estimate and they did really good work. The price seemed average but everything else was excellent. I would use them again.
