I was so excited to find a company in Elk Grove to repair my lawn mower. The appeared to be a good company so I dropped off my mower and was told I'd get a return call the same day with a cost estimate. 3 days later and still no return call. When I finally got a hold of them on the phone, I was told it would be completed the same day. They said the engine had flooded and they just needed to clean it out and it would then run like new. Got it home, ready to mow, and it stopped working again within 30 seconds. I took it back a second time, told them the problem, and waited again for a return call regarding the problem. They called two days later and said I needed a new carburetor. I asked why they didn't catch that the first time around, but got no answer. Okay, I picked up my mower again and brought it home, still a little frustrated. After about 30 pulls, the mower started up and worked for about two strips of lawn before it quit on me again. Now fuming mad, I got right in the car and took it back AGAIN. I spoke with a manager who was polite and offered to fix it again but at that point I just wanted my money back so I could take it somewhere else who would actually fix the mower. He begged for another chance to fix it and offered to refund all my money except for the new carburetor. Since it wasn't going to cost me anything, I decided to give them one last shot. A week later, I got it home and it finally works... sort of. It still takes about 30+ pulls to get it running but at least it doesn't quit on me anymore. Needless to say, I won't be back there again.

Very knowledgeable staff answered all of my questions to determine whether my current Snapper mower was worth repairing versus replacement with a new mower. The quality of the repair was outstanding and the mower now works like new. The "feel" of the place is comfortable, as if you are walking into a business from the 1950's were everybody knows your name and only speaks the truth. The only area in which I rated them less than an "A" is in the Punctuality area. I understand that I brought my mower to them during the height of the busy season, but it took more than the week promised to get an estimate. The repair was done by the end of the second week (as guaranteed), so that restored my confidence in the business somewhat. I plan to do business with EG Power Equipment in the future and will refer friends and family to them.

I used a ramp to load the tiller as it was too heavy for two people to safely pick up, when arriving I asked for help unloading. they sent a teenager out who proceeded to grab it and yank it off the tailgate. I strongly recommended he get a ramp. After he fell and dropped it on its side, I did help get it off of him. I specifically said it would stop digging, and the engine would die, requested it be tuned, carb checked and general tune up. Picked it up, borrowed their ramp and I had to load it. Started great, put it to the ground, and it barely scratched the dirt. Another trip back and they adjusted the belt for the tiller. Would have thought they'd at least of aired up the tire, but oh well. Back to the yard, and about 20 minutes of so-so digging (it's old, so I was fine with it) Then it quit rather profoundly. I pulled the engine apart myself not wanting to waste another morning going back to the shop and found a piston rod had punched a hole thru the crankcase. Sure, there's no way they'd know that would happen, but judging by the look of the oil in the case. Jet black with no viscosity, I wonder if they even changed it. So a rather old but expensive boat anchor now. Have yet to try out the chipper shredder, hoping for better luck. on my ratings, I put B for price, as it was fair, had I not had the issues

The staff was very professional. By talking with them when we first arrived, you could tell they knew what they were talking about as far as our equipment goes. They did have the lawnmower for a week because this is their busy season, but when we picked it up we felt sure that it had had done what was needed to keep it in good working condition. They even gave us back all the parts that had been replaced.
