Description of Work: I want to highly recommend the company "Already A Better Choice Termite and Pest control, Inc", located in El Monte, California. After obtaining six bids for rodent extermination, I consulted Angie's List and found "Already A Better Choice" with a superior Rating. My rating is FAR BETTER THAN SUPER! The company is family owned and lives up to their reputation. when one of the owners, Josh, came out to inspect my property and give an estimate, I was impressed with his expertise and knowledge of rodents and how to eradicate them. As rates are nocturnal and very active after dark, Josh told me a story of how and his brother stalked a pesky, difficult to find rate at 2:00 am. That sold me on this company, as I could immediately see that they were willing to go the extra mile, far beyond what was required. Already A Better Choice sent out a crew to complete extensive construction work to seal off all rodent entry points in my 1906 Craftsman home, garage and shed. Their job was extremely difficult due to the age of my house and because the rats had been living in my walls and on my property for the past 10 years. I have an attic and a unfinished basement, which were both infested with rats. My property was being destroyed by rodents. The crew from Already A Better Choice sealed over 30 entry points and even poured concreted around the exterior of my old shed, where rats had chewed up the wooden floor. The construction work was neat and in keeping with the design of my house. After sealing all entry points, which were checked and double checked and reinforced, traps were wet. The company promptly came out and inspected and emptied all traps every three days for a month. They were professional, responsive and solved the problem. Their head foreman, Jessie, was an outstanding leader and completed all the work. He even did extra carpentry work to repair rodent entry points in my built in bookcases. Jessie took apart the ventilation system in my unfinished basement to eradicate the rodents. I am pleased to report that my property is now rat free. Already A Better Choice did the impossible, and gave me peace of mind and confidence that my property has been secured.

Description of Work: After getting 2 estimates and interviewing 2 companies, I hired Nathan of Already A Better Choice due to his professionalism and the excellent reports I saw on Angie's List.I was not disappointed. He came out promptly and took care of the multiple gopher sites (approximately 6) quickly and efficiently. I don't see any further activity.I will definitely use his services again.Thank you Nathan and Angie's List.

Description of Work: We found Already A Better Choice on Angie's List in 2008 and they performed a termite tenting of the whole house then for $3250. We haven't had any problems since or seen any bugs. We dealt with a nice person named Joshua Clements. They did everything on time, the house was fine afterwards, etc. We found the price fair and the work quality was good. This week, our gardener told us that we had some bees in the base of a tree. We called Joshua, who explained that if wasps or hornets, they could treat, but they wouldn't kill honey bees due to problems with honey bees dying prematurely. This was fine with us - it showed that they were ethical. Joshua came out, climbed up a steep hill, stuck his nose pretty close to the honey bees and confirmed that our issue was honey bees. And the charge for this call was nothing. We really appreciate both their common sense approach to doing the right thing for their customers and for the environment. If we do need pest control again, they would be our first call.

Description of Work: I use Jose and his sons for all my investment properties. They continue to provide quality service. I just had two properties fumigated. Jose had to schedule around rain and did a great job. Can't say enough about them.

Description of Work: This is the 2nd spring in a row that I have had an issue with roof rats in the attic and garage. Yuk! Another prominent company that took care of the problem last year but did a less than adequate job , failed to schedule trap checks( I had to call them every time) and didn't offer the service to do the closure/repair work themselves. This long standing family owned business were a refreshing expierence! Pleasant , professional and dependable staff.Josh came out and throughly accessed the property and gave me a more than reasonable price. He was willing and prepared to check out those difficult access areas of the house. He found a deceased rodent in one of the two traps that the former company never bothered to re-check!Josh and a helper came out as scheduled to set traps and did a good job on the recommended repair/closures. They call promptly to schedule regular recheck appointments. So far no more uninvited guest in my attic! Best of all the work is guaranteed for 1 year! Definitely this company is the Better Choice!

Description of Work: Inspected for smell under home as follow up to initial service 6 mos ago. Found remains of rat nest, no new infestation. Cleaned area completely, smell has gone, no charge for this service, one year guarantee. As advertised, 100% satisfied, will hire them again!

Description of Work: Nathan came out to address a subterranean termite problem and also ants. While under the building, he saw a lot a of debris and trash from a past rehab job. He said that the materials would be a breeding ground for termites and other pests, and advised that I clean it all out. I asked if he would do it, and he did it on the spot for an extra charge. He also hauled the substantial amount of trash away. The ant part of the job was not as successful. He sprayed the perimeter of the building for ants and said that would eliminate the problem in each of the units (this is a four unit bldg.). One tenant complained a couple days later that her ant problem got worse. Nathan came back out and sprayed again. He said that he found a couple of nests near the building and destroyed them, and that that should take care of the problem. Then, another tenant noticed more ants, and Nathan came out again. This time, he went under the house to investigate and found another nest, which he destroyed. Shortly after that, I noticed ants in my kitchen and in my daughter's room. I hadn't had a problem in my daughter's room before, and the problem in the kitchen was now worse. I spoke with Nathan and said that whatever he was doing was not working and, oddly enough, seemed to be making the problem worse. He was very apologetic and said he had never had a problem like this. He also said that his company doesn't really specialize in ant extermination, that they're specialty was really termite work. He apologized and refunded me in full for the cost of the ant work. In all this, Nathan was very professional, incredibly courteous, and seemed to have a genuine interest in making sure I was completely satisfied.

Description of Work: On Friday morning we made an appointment for a termite inspection, it was to be on Monday between 9am and 11am. They called a few hours later to change the appointment to an later time...11am to 1 pm...okay. On Monday I waited at home for them. At 1:05pm Jose called and said he couldn't make our appointment. I'm sure he must have known before then that he wasn't going to get to my house on time. If he had called to change the appointment at 11am or even 12pm when it was clear he was running late, allowing me to do something else, it would have been fine. When I asked him when he could get to our house he said MAYBE by 2 or 2:45...since he clearly wasn't concerned with my time, I told him I would call him when, and if, it ever became convenient for me. I won't be calling. Businesses need to be respectful and arrive when they commit to arriving.

Description of Work: Jose came out and did an inspection which revealed a dust mite infestation. He worked in our house for over an hour to help find the source and then told us how to control and eradicate the pests-it worked! To top it off he would not charge us.
