Simmons Custom Cabinets and Refacing

I gave them a picture have a beautiful French provincial kitchen and Matt Simmons made it happen! He made our kitchen look exactly like the picture! He was kind he was easy to work with he was meticulous and he made sure everything worked perfectly.

Matt was great to work with. He was very professional, paid attention to detail, and did a quality job. I will hire him again in the future.

It took us a long time to find and select a contractor to complete cabinet refacing in our kitchen. I started the research back in June, and we finally selected Simmons Custom Cabinets in November. In between, we had five other contractors come over to our house, to review the work and provide a quote. We saw everything from the ridiculous to the jaw-dropping. The first contractor disappeared after providing the quote and answering a few questions. Another wanted about the same amount as Simmons Custom Cabinets just for sanding and painting the cabinet surfaces. And yet another wanted twice as much money to reface the cabinets as it would have cost us to replace them. Then, finally, Matt Simmons came over to look at the job. He asked pertinent questions, explained options, provided samples, and agreed to everything we asked for. We did not hear that something was not possible, or that it would cost too much. Even after he quoted the job, when we made some additional changes, the increase in cost was minimal and totally in-line with what I would have expected. In the end, what we paid was completely reasonable, especially considering the quality of the work that Matt did. And that brings me to the key point in this review. Quality of the work is what we always strive for when it comes to home remodeling projects. We want the best results for the least amount of money. There is a middle ground that is often reached, which satisfies both the homeowner and the contractor. In the case of Simmons Custom Cabinets, it was easy to reach the middle ground, as the quote that Matt provided was more than appropriate, and the work that he did was exceptional. I hope too that he was satisfied with the project and the end results, we certainly were. On the outside, our kitchen looks like it received brand new cabinets. We had multiple visitors ask us if we put in new cabinets, and they all expressed surprise when we tell them that these are just refaced. The fit and finish of the doors and drawers are perfect, and the hardware chosen by Matt works very well. And to top things off, Matt was always on time and on schedule. He started the project on the day that the forecast five weeks earlier and completed on schedule after one week. He arrived every day exactly at the time that he indicated, and left every day at the time that he promised to be done. For a contractor who has to juggle multiple projects, that time and schedule keeping was a big achievement and certainly made our lives easier as we could plan the week without any changes. I highly recommend Matt and Simmons Custom Cabinets for your next cabinet project.

We called Simmons Custom Cabinets because we saw great reviews online. We had already visited other companies. Those other companies did not understand what we wanted and had a much higher markup. Matt came out and was very professional and got right to work taking all measurements. We wanted solid wood white shaker cabinets and brushed bronze hardware. Matt gave us a bid, and after some revisions and negotiating, he was able to perform the work within our budget. It took a little over a month for the supplies to come in, but within a week of receiving the doors/drawers, Matt was at our house sanding down cabinets, filling in holes, and making cabinet adjustments. We were able to upgrade with full extension drawers, pocket tilt trays, and soft closing hinges (a must!). The cabinets were completely refaced with new material, all new corner round, edging, and larger crown molding (looks good with our 10 foot ceiling). The job only took him 3 days to complete. He and his crew were putting in long hours to get the job done in an efficient and professional manner, even when I called him back to replace a cabinet door with a manufacturer flaw in it. No questions asked, he replaced it and helped me work on a couple other shelves. We recommend Matt for any cabinet needs and have already referred Simmons Custom Cabinets to friends and family. Matt Simmons is excellent to work with. He is straight forward, honest and fair. After hiring a contractor who failed to execute (who I had to fire), Matt came in, assessed my partially completed job, gave me a bid and got started exactly when he said he would.
