The A/C blower has worked fine ever since. I recommend Big Mountain Air for your heating & air needs.
Description of Work: Our A/C stopped working in the heat of summer, of course. I was expecting the worst as our system is very old. However, they found it was only the blower and he was able to replace it right there and then.

The installer was punctual and finished within the estimated time. He was considerate of containing debris during the installation and did a thorough cleanup afterwards. There has been a delay in receiving a magnetic cover for the louvers, but otherwise the price was competitive and the work timely and of good quality.

Alan was right on time. My central air system was broken at the time and it was at least 130 degrees in the attic. Alan worked through the heat and I had a whole house fan installed by 6pm to use when the temps dropped that evening. Worked like a champ. Alan was a very personable and professional person and it was fun listening to his hunting and fishing stories.
Description of Work: Alan installed a 30 inch 1/2 horse Delta Breeze Whole House Fan with Dayton Shutter. He also installed 2 Dormer vents in the roof for more ventilation.

Alan first came over to see what we wanted done and suggested we have all of it done at once. This included the removal of the old ceiling fan, installation of the new one, running wiring in the kitchen so we could use an under-the-sink water heater, and replacement of some outlets, once of which we wanted to change to four plugs. We hadn't yet selected the ceiling fan so Alan said to call when we had it in hand. Once our new fan arrived we called Alan and he was able to work us into his schedule within just a few days. He anticipated the jobs would take 2 - 3 hours. When Alan came over, the first job he tackled was the ceiling fan. It turned out that some additional, unexpected work needed to be done in the attic to secure the new fan. Alan was unable to complete the job that day because of the complication, but was back the next day and completed the fan installation and all the other jobs. Because of the extra, unexpected work, the final cost was more than originally estimated but was still reasonable. We're very happy with the new fan and the wiring for the water heater.
Description of Work: Removed old ceiling fan, installed new one. Ran wiring for under -sink water heater in kitchen. Replaced some outlets, expanding one from two plugs to four.

Alan was recommended by the folks at The Fanman because they were too swamped with business. Fanman said Mountain Air was the only other whole house fan company in the Sacramento area they would recommend. That was good enough for me! Alan arrived on time, with all necessary equipment. Answered my questions, did the install quickly and efficiently and then cleaned up after himself. I would recommend either of these business without hesitation.

Excellent work, Great Price, Very Happy Customers!!
Description of Work: Alan arrived right on time and went right to work. It was obvious he has had lots of experience in the installation of Whole House Fans. He gave us great advise and finished in just few hours. Everything works perfect and we are very pleased. This is the second unit we have had Alan install. The first in a much larger (4000 sq.ft) home worked flawlessly for us for over 6 years and when we moved, we called for another. The difference in our cooling costs and overall comfort were dramatic! We recommend the System and Alan's work. Well worth it!!

Description of Work: I went to the Sacramento Home and Garden Show in January to take a look at a few things but was focused on a Whole House Fan. I received quotes from 3 companies and Mountain Air Whole House Fans got our business because of their professionalism and knowledge of their product. Wyatt was the estimator who I saw at the trade show and the came to our house for an estimate. We received a "special show price" and was impressed by the experience of both Wyatt and Alan who came out to install the fan itself. The fan is in a strategic spot in our house since the hallway upstairs had our heating and gas line above that. The choice was to be in one of three bedrooms or our walk in closet. The closet is perfect so the fan is away from sight lines (it is not over sized or unsightly) but works in our case and is very quiet and works very efficiently. We have run iy already to comfort other workers that have been working on our house, Call Wyatt or speak to Alan they did a great service for us and I will recommend them to anyone.

I'm a big fan of a whole house fan, especially here in Sacramento with the delta breezes. Most nights we run the fan all night, and I am cold in the morning. This is a great feeling because I know how hot the day will get. Also, it is so much easier to keep your house cool and run your AC less when your inside temp starts at 68 degrees, instead of staying in the upper 70-80's just using my AC all the time. The whole house fan is outstanding, and would highly recommend one. Mountain Air does a great job installing, and the product they use is very quality as well. WE had our first fan for 4 years, until we moved and no problems at all with it. We have had our 2nd one for over a year, and no issues. The sound of the fan is not bad, Wyatt will recommend good places to locate it in your house. Overall, they did a great job and I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Mountain Air has installed a whole house fan at our last home and current home. They installed the fan and provided a demonstration each time. Installation took a couple of hours and they did a great job.

I recently read an article in a health magazine that said a home's inside air quality can be much more toxic than the outside air quality. The inside air becomes stagnant unless we allow fresh air in to circulate. I use my whole house fan often to reinvigorate my home's air quality.
Description of Work: I had about whole house fans many years ago, so when I found the Mountain Air display at the Sacramento Home & Garden Show in 2008, I was able to learn more about them and schedule a meeting with Wyatt Laining who was able to answer my many questions, complete the necessary paperwork, and arrange for the installation. The fan was installed a few days later with very few interruptions to my usual routine. The work was done quickly, efficiently and seamlessly. Jeff, the installer, gave me a brief demonstration of the mechanics of the fan when the work was completed. (It's a pretty uncomplicated piece of equipment from the user's perspective. I also think it is reasonable priced.) Jeff then opened several windows throughout the house and turned the fan on. Within seconds, I could smell and feel a change in the air within my home. The air smelled fresher and was more invigorating. I loved the difference then and I love the difference today, about a year later.
