I was happy and he was reasonable. He did the work in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend him.

Mr. White was brought in by the flood restoration company. He presented a card that showed him as licensed to do construction work. The job replacing the dry wall, outside of some odd dents in the wall, was at least reasonable. He obtained baseboard that was half the width of the original, so it didn’t match where it met, and claimed the original width baseboard was no longer available. The baseboards were put in with a good ¼ inch gap above the floor tile.
His painter, a man called Art, spray painted the house including the furniture that he and Mr. White were to have moved to a container, something that was included in the cost. They repositioned the furniture so some of the over spray didn’t show. To their credit they removed the over spray I found, but some wasn’t discovered until after the job was completed. They left items plugged in so the plugs and wires were over sprayed. The kitchen step stool was also sprayed. Furniture was damaged when they moved it to spray paint the walls.
Three months after the paint job was completed paint starting flaking off the walls. In some places the paint layer was so thin merely bumping into the wall scrapped off the new paint. Unfortunately, the paint drips on the tile floor takes more effort to remove.
Mr. White affirmed he faxed all bills to the insurance company as requested. When he presented his bills to me, (insurance sent check to me to disperse), his bill was were $1,633.05 above what he had charged the insurance. Unfortunately I didn't find this out right away. He kept returning with more bills he’d “forgotten” to submit or had submitted but I'd not paid. At one point he claimed to have talked to the insurance company, and told me they were sending a second check. He needed the money now, so would I please write him a check. Contacted the insurance company who said there was no second check and that Mr. White was repeatedly submitting the same three bills. At this point, I discovered his license had been revoked in 1990 for sub-standard work and over charging. He even took me to court claiming he’d not been paid at all, despite my having a canceled check.
Baseboards had to be replaced, and the correct width boards were available. The paint job will have to be redone. The damage to new and antique furniture can be repaired but was totally unnecessary. The aggravation, with Mr. White calling and repeatedly coming to the house with creatively different bills, is something you want to avoid. Have nothing to do with Mike
