Not all contractors/builders are equal! Have utilized a good number of high quality contractors/builders over the years and without question, the Woolsey team, top to bottom and from initial conversations through project sign off, are the best of the best. Completed the construction for the installation of a 4 stop elevator in a 140 year old home. Project started on time, completed as agreed and at the estimated budget...and unless you knew there was an elevator installed, you would NEVER be able to tell as the completed project mirrors the original home. Every step of the way the communication was perfect. For us, we greatly appreciated having the same team show up 'religiously' every day on time and ready to work and always paid attention to the small details such as cleaning up everyday before leaving the job site. 100% recommend and would/will definitely use them again.

We met with Woolsey Construction to look at our options for building an ADU. They were incredibly supportive and educational every step of the way. Their team is interested and intentional in doing the right thing for the customer.

The work and experience of using Woosley Construction far surpassed our expectations. The whole process of working with Luke Woosley and his team was handled with utmost professionalism. Because this project was the first time I had ever used a general contractor, I had anxiety around making the right choice. Luke was very responsive and on several occasions spend the time I needed to go through the details of the project and was realistic yet reassuring of how the work would be conducted. Luke also came highly recommended by his references and the roofing company we were using. Out of the 3 bids I received, Woosley construction took the time to explain the details of the project I needed to feel comfortable moving forward...something that the other bidders seemed to be too rushed to do. The actual repair and construction process was not painful. In fact, Luke and his team worked efficiently on schedule and always left the work site clean and organized everyday. He was disciplined about meeting weekly to discuss progress updates and took the time to explain and help us navigate upcoming milestones. The quality and craftsmanship was top-notch and actually inspired us to start considering other house contractor projects and areas that Woosley construction should help us with. We definitely recommend Luke and his team and plan to use his company again in the future.

He's intelligent, marvelous, and accommodating. He gives you real quality stuff. He cleans up after each job. He's one of the best. I trust him completely. He can make difficult things happen. There's no problem getting a hold of him. He goes the extra mile for his customers. He made my working bench mobile and it was fantastic. He is the only contractor that I've ever had that gives a fair price and if he goes under quote he gives a refund. It only happened once and usually his pricing is spot on. He comes up with great solutions for complex problems and he is very smart.

We received several bids and Luke Woolsey's was the most in depth and well thought out analysis of the project. He included two options in his bid since the extent of the work required could not be determined until the landing was taken apart and the areas contributing to the leak evaluated. Luke and Clint did an outstanding job. They did all the carpentry work and removed the stucco as required. Luke arranged for subcontractors to come in to do the stucco repair and to install the new deck top waterproof system. The work was done on schedule and coordination with the stucco and waterproofing sub contractors and with the roofer was excellent. Luke was there to oversee all the subcontractor work.

Luke got this done on schedule and on budget. The end product is a beautiful open space that we can use all year long. We're very happy with Luke's ability to work around the challenges in our yard and match the new patio to the style of the house. Would definitely use him again and recommend him to others.

Luke Woolsey is a gem. Great to work with. He is quick to assess the customers' needs and wishes, honest and straightforward in his bidding, courteous almost to a fault and -- unlike most contractors -- punctual. He does what he says he is going to do and, when finished, cleans up so well that it's like he was never there. We've dealt with many contractors over the past 30 years and Woolsey Construction ranks at the top of the list. We'd would recommend him in a heartbeat for anyone seeking a pleasant experience with their project. In fact, we already have!

Hiring a Contractor Luke Woolsey came to me from a friend, who has had a lot of work done on her home. I knew if she liked him, he would be more than satisfactory for me. When you have an old house like I do, the original intended project quickly morphs into something else entirely. Many homeowners become suspicious of contractors when they simply tell you the truth. Is that the fault of the contractor your house is falling apart? Absolutely not. I knew my overall goal for the project was to restore structural integrity to the house. I discussed this with Luke frequently, so he knew what my priority was. This is critical to a productive relationship with your contractor. Knowing my husband wanted to keep expenditures to a minimum, I would hand Luke my camera and have him photograph all the deficient areas that he found. I highly recommend all homeowners do that. You want a record of before and after. I would show my husband the pictures, we?d approve the cost via Change order and cross that issue off the list. We started out with a list of things that needed replacement: windows, a deck rail, some roof leaks etc. For a home built in 1978, we soon found we had extensive dry rot. Our roof had been built before the current code and all our flashing were out of code and hence the leaks. With the roof, I had Luke remove the tiles from eave to the top pitch of the roof. Take some pictures. Sure enough, you could see all the felt was rotted, no washers around the nails, failed flashings. Can?t argue with pictures. So we did the roof via RC Roofing, a Luke Woolsey subcontractor. Luke replaced all the dry rot wooden eaves. Onto the deck, it was out of code, the surface rotted, railing rotted, iron work pitted and starting to rust. Again, drag out the camera. The entire deck got rebuilt, the railing replaced with a composite material that termites don?t find appetizing. Luke recommended resurfacing the iron work, which turned out beautiful. I don?t know where he finds his subs, but they are all quality workmen. Window replacement was also on the list. The glass company, Glenview Glass and Screen was quick, neat and did exceptional work. I wanted them to reinstall a shower enclosure but they came up with a cost effective substitute which looks way better than what I had planned. Air conditioning duct work was also an item. His duct work sub, Kunkle Heating and Air, was simply super. Fast, neat and definitely knows his stuff. They installed a couple extra ducts in the upper story that more evenly distribute the cool air, which is really important in Poway during the hot weather. I was extremely happy with all of the work that Luke did. The work was first rate and he uses quality materials. He did some minor items for me with no charge which was really nice. My neighbors have commented on the roof, the deck and my new windows. My only hang-up about writing this review is I don?t want Luke to get too busy. I plan on downsizing in the future. I know I will rip up the kitchen of any house I buy. I want Luke to do it. I don?t want him to be too busy.
