 + -1 moreI pulled into the yard with a pickup and was greeted by a couple guys in jeans and black t-shirts. They helped me unload and explained they have to charge for the refrigerator, bulbs, batteries, and the other mercury devices but could take the tv's and electronics for free. I was told to have them destroy the information on the hard drives they said they would wipe them, then crush them, and scatter the pieces among others making it impossible recover any data. It might've been a bit overkill but I guess it does the trick. They even sent me a certificate of destruction after they had processed it, I just had to provide an email address. It's definitely not a glamorous place, but the employees seemed friendly enough. Apparently one of the guy's is really into cross fit or something because for the whole 10 minutes I was there he was trying to convince one of their tech guys he should try it someone. I got a good laugh from that.
Description of Work: I dropped off a few dozen fluorescent lightbulbs from a jobsite, along with a handful of spent batteries, smoke detectors, old thermostats, a refrigerator, several printers, two busted tvs and a couple old computers we had the hard drives wiped and destroyed for extra.
