I was very impressed by the men that came to my house. Vadim and Viktor came out to look at my house and the equipment that was currently installed. Viktor removed all the old equipment. Two other men came and did the install, including a new electric heat pump, A/C condensor/fan, all new duct work, and thermostat! I wish I knew their names because they were really great. They were respectful of me, my time, my home, and my pets.I would definitely hire these guys again!
Description of Work: I purchased a new HVAC system through Sears and Quality Mechanical Professionals was the subcontractor they sent to do the install.

Initially I got them from SDGE program to check heating and AC systems. They added a delay on the outside blower to improve efficiency. But with in 3 monthsI had problems with heater GAS Valve and they replaced it. But when replacing the valve they messed up the broke the connection on the delay chip installed in first appointment. I found out that when I called a different company from Angies List when my AC is not working.

We bought a house in the Palm Springs area and after moving in discovered that a window A/C unit and the evaporative cooler were non-functional. I called the home warranty company and they dispatched Quality Mechanical Professionals. And that's when the saga began. So far we've had outright lies, misdirection, incompetence, slow response, no response and a litany of other actions that give total lie to the name "Quality" and "Professional". Never, ever, ever use this company for anything more advanced than turning on a ceiling fan. Bottom line? We've been in the house for almost 6 weeks after placing the service call and we neither have the new A/C unit or the repaired evap cooler. And to make it more lovely the temperature here in the desert has been between 105 and 110 since moving in.
Description of Work: They haven't actually performed any services yet and that is the major problem. Despite it being almost 6 weeks since our home warranty company dispatched this company to replace a window A/C unit and repair an evaporative cooler. They've been here twice and I've called them numerous times and the problems still aren't resolved. They say parts are on order and then I find out they aren't on order. They say they need to research and then never call back. I called them the day before we left on a ten day vacation and they assured me that all parts were on order and that they would be ready to go when we returned. Not true and when I called them they requested that I climb on to my roof and measure the evap cool pads myself. Nope!

The repairman arrived with the part, which he told my Spanish speaking neighbor was the incorrect part, but he was told to try to use it anyway. He proceeded to attempt to use it on our heater, and found it really was difficult to make it work.. He called his boss to tell him it did not fit, his boss told him to "make it fit". Again, the repairman continued to work to make fit. After three hours and drilling two holes in our heater he managed to fit it in to the heater somehow. If he weren't from the warranty company providers I would never have let him near my home. Now a week later the heater does not work again and I have to have them come out again. They failed to show up for their appt. They are supposed to send a "senior technician' along with the previous repairman. I don't expect much, if we ever see them. I would never pay for this business to come to my home myself, they seem careless and unprofessional.
Description of Work: Through home warranty company this company sent a repairman to provide a 2nd opinion on our heater. The control board was loose and not functioning, which my husband told him. I don't know if he would have diagnosed it correctly or not. His first visit was on the 30th. We were called on the 5th and informed our part was in and an appt was made for the 7th. I would like to point out the repairman arrived in his own little Kia, with only a little toolbelt of tools to work with, and spoke very poor English. Although he was very nice. To update above review .. I made a complaint on the BBB website, which resulted in our finally having a supervisory tech come out to work on the heater. He replaced a totally different part, then told my husband if we had any problems, give him a call. About a month later we did have a problem again, called the warranty company, requested this company, which is another issue, and of course were not able to have the same tech come out. The one who did come out fixed the problem however, so I must say the problem was eventually fixed. How ever, we still had no heat for over a month in the winter, relying on space heaters we had to purchase for heat.

I put in a service order through American Home Shield (AHS) in January, 2009. Quality Mechanical promptly came out and fixed the dishwasher, but did not have the proper parts to fix the fan switch or trash compactor. The technician put in a referral order to complete the work. By March, I still had not heard back from the company and called AHS again. They contacted Quality Mechanical again about the unfinished work. I never heard from them. Last week, now June, I contacted AHS again. They contacted the company again. I heard from Quality Mechanical the next day. They said they had called me numerous times but had not reached me. (They had never called, my answering machine works just fine.) They fixed the fan switch, but after an hour of labor, the technician said he couldn't fix the trash compactor, he didn't know how to. I called the manager of Quality Mechanical who 2 hours later still had not returned my call. I again contacted AHS who set up a new appointment with a different company to finish the job. We'll see how that goes... Quality Mechanical is a misnomer, it should be Poor Quality Mechanical. I also told AHS not to continue using them.
Description of Work: Unplugged a clogged drain to my dishwasher, fixed the fan switch on my range top, attempted to fix my trash compactor.

First we call major companys for an estimate like ..... no names (law suits are a factor) we have a runs around to even get some one in , apperently a vacation time for people in trade. Finaly we have two companyies to come and we got on our hands two estimates more or less the same for replacement of our system. To say the least i was p***** becouse non of the company's send technicians to check in both we have a sales people. The only one objectives was to sell sell sell not even check a system. With our frostration in hand we call our previos home warranty company (wile we have an insurance everything was workig of course) for referal. Boy do we have what we ask for!!!( actualy 650.00 i pay last year realy pays ot this time) We got a phone number of QUALITY MECHANICAL company. We call to scequle and we probably was a little bit on the ofensive side. but was greated by young lady who some how indetified our frostration(good training with insurance companies) and she sugest we talk directly with a manager. I was not very happy but wrongfully. Very nice man with charming evropeing accent (per my wife) unsver the phone and make us very comfortable expalaining the metter at hand without us to ask he recomend to send a techician not the sails man to see if our exiting system is repairable, he also mention computorized diagnostic and tune up system they have in place. I tell you what!!! this people get it right. Even if you not doing any replacement call this people i love all gagets , but they have state of the art system with all kind off meguring devises and charts . If very short time we have a full picture of what is going on. let to find out our system was repairable and quiet easyly. It took the Man a 15 min. to fixed. He let us know that our system is not efficient any more and we would spand more money on running it this summer. He charged us 129.00 dollars for new capsitor and recomend to talk with CHARMING ACCENT about options for replacement. To say the list my wife was excided. We and up having 45 min conversation and web conference wile we was shown all our options, with pictures and compereson charts from 3 different brands of equpment. We also got a credit for the repairs after we sign contrac for installation of new system . VERY ,VERY GOOD PEOPLE THANKY MISTER CUTE ACCENT YOU SHOUD BE IN SHOW BUSINESS!!!! VERY KNOLAGEBLE, VERY PROFESSIONAL A++++ if not for replacement but for tune up try this company you will be surprised and as it sad on a business card " quality is not just wheir name, it wheir commitment" Respectfully, John and Mary Carlson.

They inspected the heating unit and made a minor adjustment. It did not solve the problem and we called them the next day. All we could ever get was a answering machine and we left many messages. When they did call back they did not call our cell number as requested but left a message on our phone claiming that the heating pipes were not to code and that we would have to pay them $100.00+ to make it to code before they would do anything else. They did not respond to our calls to explain why they never said it was not to code when they were at our home and to explain why it was not to code. We had another heating company come out and they fixed the heater correctly and said that it was to code. This company attempted to rip us off. Beware!

See above. The repairmen who came were prompt, polite and friendly. They did not hesitate to provide the second visit free of charge.
Description of Work: This company was here in April to fix our air conditioner. We have an appliance insurance policy and paid the normal $55 for the service. The problem was that the condenser went on outside the house, but not the fan inside. The company repaired the problem, however it recurred in September. The company promptly sent a repairman who fixed the problem and charged us nothing.

Don't remember the guy's name, but he was from Ukraine. He was right on time and very helpful. He was sent to us through American Home Shield, an insurance company that covers our appliances. He tried to reduce the flame, but apparently on these 45 year old units, it just can't be done without losing the pilot altogether. So we burn gas like it's 1961.
Description of Work: Inspection of my wall furnace to try and reduce the amount of gas being used in the pilot light.

The tech, Chris, was right on time, friendly, looked smart, and did the work in a short period of time. The office contact (Stacy?) was unresponsive, unhelpful, and unfriendly. She needs training, for sure. The company came to us through home insurance company American Home Shield.
Description of Work: Aired out clogged condensate line that was causing water to overflow and leak into closet below.
