They met all the time frames. The workers were professional. They did a good job keeping things as clean as they could. Honestly it was a pleasure working with them.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - RUN! Pay more if you must. We are going to have to sue to get some sort of remedy now. First, Kyle (the owner's son) came over to our house and went over the details of what their company offers. Four people all heard the same information (my husband, daughter, son-in-law, and myself). He said newly resurfaced pools need a month of checking chemical balance and that was included. He said he saw a tiny and short hairline crack in one side of the Jacuzzi wall and that was an easy fix. He said if they ran into any major structural issues, they would let us know but most often small "settling" types of cracks can just be filled; minor. This was consistent with the other info we had rec'd from other competitors who had looked at our pool. He gave us a bid to do the tile as well since it was a bit outdated, but the bid was about 3,500.00 and since we just had it all regrouted in the last 5 months or so, we decided not to change out the tile. He said they can just go up to the existing tile (or just underneath it?) and there is no necessity to replace the tile, but it would update the look. We liked the existing tile so kept it. Angie's list says they accept Visa and MC and then when it came time to pay the 1/2 down, they refused to accept any credit cards. At that point, we should have walked away. Because the gel coat had worn (previous owners of the house we just purchased did not control the chemicals very well), this job required the entire f.b. pool be taken all the way down. There would be a LOT of dust he said. They were supposed to begin the job in mid to late April, but I got a call in late Feb saying a job was cancelled and they wanted to start on our job right away. We had given them the 1,000.00 down payment and now had to come up with half of the balance in cash with almost no notice. The crew that came out put up a tarp and held it in place over the pool with ropes tied to several of our back yard trees and our neighbor's trees. This was not explained to us at any point, but we did not appreciate this. By the time the heavy sandblasting tools came out and the pool demo was in full swing, the workers had tripped the circuit breakers 3 times and 2 times, my daughter and son-in-law came home from work to find all the lights out and the breaker would not re-set. Food was thawing out in the frig, clocks not working, etc... One time she actually rec'd a note saying "Sorry, Shannon. We may have tripped a GFI in the house...in the kitchen". We took a picture of that note (just in case - things were not going well). When the work was nearing completion, Shannon rec'd a text saying they were basically done, drying on Thursday and fill on Friday. When Friday came, no one had filled the pool or shared any information with anyone on what to do. Shannon spoke with Kyle on the phone to mention the tarp still being up, an extension cord was left in our electrical panel (a code violation), and weren't they coming out to fill the pool and do a walk-through and what about the service afterwards? Well, there was no service afterwards he now says, she has to fill the pool, and they would take the tarps down on Monday. When Shannon went outside to take a picture of the cord hanging out of our electrical panel, she noticed water leaking from below the tiles in both the Jacuzzi AND the pool (as the water was filling from a hose we placed in the Jacuzzi and spilling over into the pool and the pool was filling from the pipe spicket) What we saw, though, were several water drips, some dripping very fast, others more slowly, onto the top step of the pool. It appeared there was no seal at all between the tile and the fiberglass. We took a video of the water drips and sent it to them. They dispute they caused any damage at all and they take no responsibility - even though we had no leaks or drips prior to them beginning work. We know this because we had a salt system installed and our pool light repaired a couple of months after we purchased the home, just a few short months ago. We had the tiles re-grouted at the same time. Now the tile grout in the Jacuzzi is all chipped away on one side of the Jacuzzi (another potential reason for water leaking) and perfect on the top and on the other surfaces; clearly they damaged this one area of the Jacuzzi as well. One pool professional said they cut too deep on both sides of the Jacuzzi wall. We have snarky emails from the owner's son with threats now that they are going to void the warranty if we don't fill the pool in one week's time. But if we fill it, water could be seeping behind the fiberglass from the lack of a seam at the bottom of the tiles! Kyle is very rude and without personally even looking at the damage, he is denying his company did anything wrong at all. Not one single visit!! Folks, we have photos and videos of the damage and leaking, as well as the snarky emails. The BBB, Yelp, and many others are going to hear about this because other potential customers must beware!!!!

The pool and Jacuzzi resurface is absolutely beautiful! The workers were extremely careful to keep the dust down to a minimum by covering the pool area with a tarp during the sanding process. The contractor also provided us with letters for our neighbors so that the neighbors were notified of the noise and possible dust. We selected a fleckstone finish over the fiberglass coating. The sales rep Mike Gersch was so polite, very helpful and he was not a pressure sales kind of guy. Just the nicest man that you could meet while conducting business and getting a bid on a job. The company kept us updated on the start date and what to expect. We were provided with a letter that gave us the name of the foreman on the job. The job begins on a part time basis as the previous job is completed so an and quot;exactand quot; date at the time of purchase is not known but a estimated start date is provided. The crew was extremely polite as was the Foreman, Fidel Alvarez, assigned to our job. We never had to do any cleanup when the crew finished for the day. The crew swept and cleaned up the pool area every day and put the tools away in a storage box left in our yard. We also had new LED lights installed in the pool and Jacuzzi. We intended to order the color wheel light (replacing what was in our pool) but the owner, Reid Mirvis, told us that the color would actually not be too visible because of the color of finish that we chose. What an honest assessment. That saved us a lot of money, $783. How often does a contractor help you to save money on a job? We are very happy with the look of the pool and the color that Mike Gersch helped us to select is perfect! We would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs to resurface their pool. We were referred to PS200 by our pool supplier. We did not know about PS 2000 until this referral and we thank Discount Pool for telling us about this company.

1. DO shop around and get several bids on your pool re-surface job. We did that on the original job. It turned out PS-2000 was the hands down way to go. 2. The rest is described above.
Description of Work: This job was a no-cost warranty complete replacement of our pool surface. It took our breath away. We had installed a fiberglass re-surface on our pool by PS-2000 in Sep '09 at $ 9,050. The job came with a ten-year warranty (full material and labor coverage for five years; followed with full material coverage for the remaining five years). This year, at the three-year mark we discovered a couple issues with the bottom surface and called it to the attention of Reid Mirvis, PS-2000 owner operator. Reid came out and evaluated the condition and quickly stated he'd put in an entirely new pool re-surface job (no cost), we just needed to get it scheduled. Wow, I call that "standing by your product". We agreed on a start date in a couple weeks and his crew showed up with all the removal gear and the associated tarp covers, etc. It took approx three weeks to do the demo/re-install and I was able to watch the three-man crews work each day. They were very professional in their workmanship, courteous, stayed on the job all day with one break for lunch, and cleaned up and stacked their gear at the completion of each day. They kept us informed on each new phase as the job progressed. Also, Reid called a few times to inform us of the progress and plans, including his work around for some rain days. When they completed the install Reid came on site for the final inspection and gave us the "go" for water fill. The job appears to be even better than the first time they did the work. We learned from Reid that over the three intervening years since our first install they have developed improved techniques and install protocols, along with some materials improvements. Needless to say we would recommend PS-2000 to all our friends/relatives, and we have done so.

Super professional, nice, and they really tried to be neat. Sanding a fiberglass pool is the equivalent of take a ton of baby powder and and throwing it up in the air. They tried really hard to clean up the mess, which I really appreciated.
Description of Work: I have a fiberglass pool. Unlike a standard plaster pool, fiberglass pools are supposed to be more earthquake resistant. Well, mine is an older one and needed resurfacing. So when the Easter 2010 Earthquake hit, I had surfable waves in the pool but the pool was fine. July rolls around and another afterschock hits and its about a magnitude 5.5 Well, the pool developed a nice crack and down goes the water level. We tried to do a patch due to timing with vacation. But we needed a full resurface. PS 2000 had been used by the prior owner so we called them. They came out and began the resurface. Resurfacing a fiberglass pool involves sanding off the old surface (can you say dusty?) Anyway, the crew worked really hard and got the whole old finish off and resurfaced the pool putting in Kevlar patches over the crack. Wouldn’t you know it? During the cure process the same crack opened up? No quibbling on the part of the PS 2000 crew. The supervisor told me ‘sometimes that happens. Don’t worry we’ll fix it, no extra charge.” And They did. The second fix took and the pool looks great. Super professional, competent, nice and neat even given the dusty operation. A

Pool Surfacing 2000 did a really great job. They were very professional and I think I really like them. I had no problems at all. I was very satisfied that they followed up with me and touched base with me everyday. It did take a few weeks to get them started, however it was a tough job. I had extensive cracks in the pool and bars showing through. Re-plastering the pool would not have been enough. The workers were here everyday and they got it all done wonderfully.

THEY DID A GOOD JOB, HOWEVER, THERE WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING AS TO WHAT WE THOUGHT THE JOB WAS GOING TO BE AND TO WHAT WAS ACTUALLY DONE. THEY DID NOT TILE THE STEPS AS THEY PREVIOUSLY WERE.
Description of Work: RESURFACED OUR POOL AND RE-TILED THE JACUZZI.
