The guy who came was very professional, but the price was beyond for the work that was done . He rinsed the pipe in my secondary bathroom that was clogged, with my hose in my front yard , and used his vacuum to get any excess water - the cost was over 700 bucks . I called to talk the price over for the work that was done didn’t match - manager told me that they pay their Technicians exceptionally well. So we the Consumer are being over priced for jobs.! The manager wasn’t pleasant to deal with. But money does ruin a lot of people , he is just one of them . They are not to be trusted , they don’t stand by their own saying on their website - which is : if you are unhappy for any reason we will do whatever it takes or make it right. NOPE..!! Didn’t even attempt- said he would sleep just fine at night know he took that much for a rinsing of a very small pipe. They definitely PRICE GOUNGE - and they keep the cost hidden so you don’t even fully know what your paying for.!!! Do not USE .! Awful awful.!

I'm posting this as a caution for people having issues with their air conditioners. One of my air conditioners kept popping the circuit breaker, so I called Mauzy Heating, Air & Solar. I will never use them again! The service person did find what he thought was the issue (three dead frogs) next to the circuit board. Then came the hook... "He" the service person recommended installing A/C Renew , surge protection and a hard start kit. The AC Renew cost about $1,000.00, and the hard start kit was $480.00. Trying to be proactive I opted for the hard start kit. After it was installed, I had some time between meetings, so did a quick online search for comparable pricing, only to find that the kit normally sells for between $20.00 to $90.00. Price Gouging!!! I'm so disappointed and my A/C is still popping circuit breakers. BUYER BEWARE!

Maury charged me $413 to change a 20$ fuse that I told them needed to be replaced. Technician attempted to justify pricing by saying “manufacturers raises their prices, they need to pay drivers and gas for 50 trucks etc. If you have basic needs for AC service, try elsewhere that won’t charge you an arm and a leg for nothing.

Amazing! We went from a summer SDG&E bill of $980 to a credit!!! With the tax credits and savings, our investment is paying for itself. Mauzy was so informative and educated us on solar before and after the install. They also handled the installation on a new roof. I would recommend Mauzy to everyone I know. We are now living comfortably without the cause of a huge bill from SDG&E. THANK YOU!!!!

FANTASTIC! We had Mauzy come out and service our units and clean our Air Ducts. We can already tell that our systems are running more efficient. They were on time, clean, and thorough. They recommended we replace our 16 year old thermostats. We had them install new smart thermostats. It is amazing to be able to now control our home from anywhere on our phones! Thank you Mauzy for a wonderful experience!!!!!

I felt he gave fair price options and no pressure about what I chose. Will definitely be contacting Mauzy for all our AC needs in the future.

We hired Mauzy to replace our central ac and heat. We had an amazing experience with them starting with the person who scheduled my appointment over the phone, to the advisor, and finally with the install crew. Everyone we spoke to was professional and courteous. Any questions we had for the advisor or the installers were answered promptly. The install team showed us how to operate the thermostat, reminded us to change our filters regularly, and gave us tips to extend the life of our system. They cleaned up the entire work area before they left and left it spotless! After the install, we received a phone call from the office to check in with us to ensure everything was done to our satisfaction. We appreciated this follow up call and made us feel certain we made the right choice with Mauzy. The price was comparable to other bids we've received (we in the mindset of "you get what you pay for"). Super impressed with the experience we've had so far and would highly recommend this company.

On May 1, 2020, Mauzy installed a brand new AC unit in my home. There was no follow-up the next month or two to make sure there were no problems with the unit. July 9, 2020, my floor was soaking wet with water to include my son's room and the hallway. Mauzy was called to take a look at the AC and the earliest they could come out was the following Monday. At 10:00pm on the 9th, I called a remediation company out to have them dry the area because I did not want mold to start growing in my home. On Monday, Mauzy's technician was in a huge hurry to come in and out of my home, did not provide me with a report of what he did, even after asking for it, and was unprofessional and curt when I asked him questions about the problem. When I finally got a hold of Matt Mauzy, I told him what happened and he gave me the name of their insurance company to file a claim. The claim was filed and invoices were sent to the adjuster. They paid for half of the claim and said they had an exclusion for asbestos as my entire flooring had to be ripped out to include old linoleum, which contained asbestos in the mastic that was used to adhere the linoleum. Resi-Com, the restoration company, said it was necessary in order to dry the subfloor, and as a result, the entire flooring was pulled out, including my son's room. We still have no furniture in the living room or my son's room. I called Matt Mauzy and informed him that their insurance company paid half the claim but that there was still a large portion that was not paid. Matt requested the contractors email him their photos and estimates of the work, which I had them do. One of the contractor's email Matt, thanking him for speaking with her and to confirm his position of not taking responsibility for the remaining damage involved. I also email Matt and received no response. I find it extremely irresponsible and negligent, not to mention unprofessional, of Mauzy not to take responsibility for the damage, poor installation and poor follow-up after the installation that caused significant damage to my home. Having my house turned upside down was not something I would have wanted to happen, but it did and now Mauzy is failing to do the right thing by its customer. I hope you take the time to read this review and heed its warning. There are many more AC installation companies out there to choose from. Don't take the risk of this happening to your home or family.

I spent about $15,000 on a brand new HVAC system in my home. Not only did the system not work as promised but the customer service there is a complete joke. Unfortunately, I trusted Mauzy and allowed them to upsell me on a system that was not necessary for my size home. The volume of air, whether it be cold or hot running through my home is way more than necessary and we either get very hot or very cold very quickly. When I asked them to look into it and try to fix it they wanted to charge me more money instead of correcting the issue that they created l. Our smaller HVAC system that was in there previously worked just fine but since we are remodeling the home decided to go with the new environmentally friendly system.I normally support family run business is in San Diego but this family run business is not worth supporting. They do not stand by their warrantees or by the promotions that they offered you at the time of sale. They run a bait and switch type of business are simply not to be trusted. Their admin in the office don’t know what they are doing and constantly screw paperwork up. It can take weeks to figure out a small important detail such as a home address. The baby owner of the family Mike Mauzy is rude and dishonest. Steer clear like the plague! There are plenty of other great HVAC companies in SD!

COMPLAINT ABOUT MAUZY HEATING, AIR & SOLAR: Although I dislike complaining about businesses, at times I will make a public complaint because I don’t want others to be taken advantage of in the same way. This is a complaint about Mauzy Heating, Air & Solar, the company we used to install our air conditioning and heating ductless system after we completely remodeled the old house that had belonged to my husband’s parents. We will no longer ever recommend Mauzy’s services, I’ve deleted all the positive reviews I’ve written about Mauzy in the past, and we will warn as many people as we can to never use Mauzy. From the negative responses we’ve received from both the General Manager and President, we’ve realized that the company is run by liars who refuse to take responsibility when they’ve wronged a customer. Back in September 2019, two of our air conditioning/heating ductless wall units stopped blowing cold air so we scheduled a diagnostic check-up with Mauzy. When they diagnosed the problem, we learned both units were completely broken, which surprised us because they weren’t even 5 years old. We only use them during the hot summers and we hardly ever use the heating feature because we dislike being hot. Then we were shocked when Mauzy told us our 5 year warranty had already expired because we knew that couldn’t be the case. We then discovered our warranty had expired 4 months and 8 days prematurely because Mauzy used the wrong warranty start date. Even though we provided Mauzy with evidence to prove there was no way they could’ve installed our units on the date they claimed, and that in actuality our warranty should still be in effect until this December, they refused to make right their wrong. Since mid September 2019, my husband and I have discussed the predicament Mauzy placed us in with the General Manager but we were unsuccessful in getting them to remedy the problem. So yesterday we finally brought our concerns to the attention of the company’s President and today he sent us a disappointing reply. Although we’ve remained completely professional and gave Mauzy every opportunity to remedy the problematic situation they created for us, they’ve blatantly refused to take responsibility. I’ve attached photos of our last two email correspondences, the first being the one my husband and I sent to both the General Manager and President and the second being the reply we received from the President. If the photos are too difficult to read, below is a transcript of the two emails. I’ve redacted some names and email addresses, but not the names of the General Manager and President. Email my husband and I sent to the General Manager and President: “Hello Jim (and Mauzy staff), Jim, since you said there is nothing more you could do to help us, I contacted the manufacturer as you suggested regarding the warranty coverage concerns of our Fujitsu ductless air conditioning/heating wall units and compressors that Mauzy had installed in our newly remodeled home between December 4-9 2014. Fujitsu representative XXXXXXXX Cornejo provided me with some helpful information and per XXXXXXXX words, our warranty became effective: "When the installation of the equipment is completed and finalized, that would be considered the date of installation. The warranty would be effective on this date". Note his key words, "completed and finalized". If you need proof of this, let me know and I'll forward Mr. Cornejo's email to you. According to the information Mr. Cornejo provided above, this means Mauzy was incorrect to use 7/31/2014 (per the Mauzy records you provided me with) as the start date of our warranty. The date 7/31/2014 was when we paid Mauzy to secure their services, however, that was NOT the date Mauzy completed and finalized installation of our units. In reality, the actual dates Mauzy completed and finalized installation of our Fujitsu ductless air conditioning/heating wall units and compressors was between December 4-9, 2014. Again, as I had mentioned in a previous email to you, we have date stamped photographic and video evidence to prove that Mauzy staff was onsite to complete and finalize installation of our Fujitsu ductless air conditioning/heating wall units and compressors on those dates. So in reality, Mauzy should have used the final completion and installation date of 12/09/2014 as the correct date our warranty became effective. When Mauzy failed to use the correct completion and finalization date for the start of our warranty, incorrectly using 7/31/2014 instead of 12/09/2014, Mauzy unfairly deducted 4 months and 8 days (130 days total) from the full term of our warranty. Mauzy's inaccuracy became of great importance to us because it placed us at a disadvantage when two of our ductless wall units completely stopped working in September 2019. When Mauzy staff came out to inspect our two broken units on 9/10/2019, their diagnosis was, "Found refrigerant leaks within both head units located in hallway next to the elevator and in west facing upstairs bedroom. Hallway unit is leaking from within the evap coil. West facing bedroom head unit leaking where capillary tubes inter coil housing. 9k btu unit. 18k btu unit." If Mauzy had used the correct warranty start date of 12/09/2014, then we wouldn't be having this discussion; we could've had our two broken units repaired under warranty, as we should rightfully be able to do. We're dismayed that Mauzy continues to stick by their claim that 7/31/2014 was the start of our warranty date, claiming that our warranty has expired so we're not entitled to get our repairs done under warranty. Instead, Mauzy gave us an estimate of $4,368.00 to repair our two broken units, which aren't even over 5 years old! Even with the $500 discount Mauzy gave us, which reduced the cost to $3,868.00, we still feel it's completely unfair that more of the expense can't be covered under warranty, especially since it was Mauzy who used the incorrect start date for our warranty. In reality, Mauzy should’ve used 12/09/2014 as the correct start of our warranty, which means our units are still presently covered under warranty until the last month of this year, expiring on 12/09/2019. We also have date stamped photographic and video evidence to prove that there was no possible way Mauzy could have completed and finalized installation of our units prior to December 2014 because our entire home was undergoing a complete remodel, therefore the units could not be installed until towards the end of the remodeling project. On 7/31/2014, the date Mauzy claims the installation of our units was completed, we have photographic and video evidence to prove otherwise because as of that date our home had been completely demolished, torn down to its wooden frame in preparation for our whole home remodeling project. If you would like me to send you photos taken during this timeframe as proof, please let me know. As I mentioned to you in a prior email, we can't email video footage to you because the file is too large, however, we did invite you to come to our home to view the footage and this invitation remains open to you. So in light of the new information we obtained from the Fujitsu, we ask Mauzy to please reconsider their decision and do the right thing by repairing our two broken ductless wall units under warranty. To reiterate, we learned from Fujitsu that our warranty became effective when installation of the equipment was completed and finalized. Therefore the true effective date of our warranty should have been 12/09/2014, the actual date Mauzy completed and finalized installation of our units, and NOT 7/31/2014 as Mauzy incorrectly claims. We're not asking Mauzy for anything beyond what we're entitled to in our warranty, which truly doesn't expire until 12/09/2019. We're only asking Mauzy to treat us fairly because deducting 4 months and 8 days from the full term of our warranty is unfair treatment. Thank you, XXXXXXXXXXX” Email reply we received from the President: “XXXXXXXXX”, I want to make sure you are aware that the warranty from Mauzy has ended. If Fujistsu wants to honor their warranty based on your photos you are free to have any licencensed HVAC company complete the warranty repairs. Unfortunately the completion date we have and filed with the distributor we bought the units from does not match your photos. Our distributor will not release warranty parts to us based a conversation you had with Fujitsu. I think it might be best at this point if you guys contract with a different HVAC company to complete your repairs. If you need documentation from us showing where the leaks are let us know and we can forward the photos to you. Have a great Sunday. Thanks, Matthew Mauzy Mauzy Heating, Air & Solar”

We have not had our A/C serviced since 10 May 2013 & furnace serviced since 08 November 2013. We had a service contract w/ a different company, at that time, but discontinued it due to their poor treatment of us. I called Mauzy, yesterday, & was able to get an appt for this AM, 0700-0900. The service tech was Daniel. He was at our home at 0705. I provided some history on previous provider's services & the issues. He listened to me, wow. He started w/ the furnace, did some minor adjustments & informed me on what to monitor. He also provided me updated info on our equipment usage. He then went to our A/C & also did some minor adjustments, as well as some monitoring information. He was excellent in his service of our equipment & treatment of me. I learned an awful lot from him, today. I will continue to use Mauzy for our service provider. Thank you, Daniel, & Mauzy. I encourage others to also use them.

We received a promotional postcard in the mail from Mauzy that they would come out and perform a tune up on AC units. (We also saw a billboard advertising them.) They came out on June 21s and looked at our in-wall unit. Said it looked good and left. We rarely use it, saving it for the few really, really hot days a year and turned it on a couple of days ago. It blew warm air, which is the exact thing it was doing before Mauzy came out. It also spit out a piece of black plastic and was so loud it practically rattled the windows. We called Fujitsu and found a repair company recommended by them. They came out this morning. Their tech was here for about an hour and 45 minutes. He found the fan was broken, and guessed that it may have happened when the Mauzy tech stuck the probe in that they use to test it... hence the black plastic piece that flew out. He also found that there was absolutely no coolant in the unit. My husband asked the Mauzy tech if he had checked all of those things, and told my husband he had and that everything looked great.

I obtained quotes from 3 companies. Anthony A. from Mauzy came out and advised me of my options. Unlike the representatives from the other companies, he wasn’t pushy about suggesting unnecessary additions (such as new furnaces, which don’t yet need to be replaced) or overly sophisicated systems for my needs. I live in a single-level house and only use AC a few days a year, so I appreciated him not trying to upsell systems that didn’t make sense for my needs (as did one of the other companies). Clint and Luis did the installation and were very professional. They arrived on time and covered all the areas they needed to cross through inside the house — there was no mess at all. Based on my experience, I have no hesitation in recommending Mauzy and their prices were fair. Based on the age of my house (15 years), I expect to have to replace the furnaces at some point and I’ll definitely be using Mauzy.

Fantastic this company was recommended by Homedepot and is a vendor for them. We were more than pleased with the quality of work and products. Our on site sales person Mike Mauzy was very honest and up front with us and gave us 3 different options. There was no pressure and we selected the ones that worked for us (which included a new duct syatem) and within less than a day we wrapped up the paper work. The on site employees Clint who has been with Mauzy over 11 years and his partner for the install Louis who also has also been with the company many years (to me that speaks volumes about the company) We got the A team with those two very professional and knowledgeable team members plus they were very respectful of our home and time. I absolutely highly recommend Mauzy Heating, air, and solar.

All was great on the day of service. Don who was the tech and was very professional. He identified a problem which we scheduled for a later date. Then everything went south. Two days after a service my AC unit has stopped working. I called the office twice today for an emergency and what should be priority service only to be told that nothing can be done for several more days and zero apologies! That is terrible service and unacceptable so I also canceled my scheduled job. Again, no apology when I was told by the receptionist that she would talk to management and call me immediately after. She never did. Think twice about calling this company!

Everything worked out as I expected. I went with the George Lennox Signature Model A/C Condensor, and Lennox' quietest Heating Unit. I also went with Zoning, so the upstairs and downstairs could be set at different temperatures. Some "adjustments" were required to make it all work properly, but Mauzy handled those adjustments promptly, at additional cost.

I selected Mauzy, mainly because they were a highly rated Lennox dealer. From Internet Research, I already knew that I wanted the George Lennox Signature Model A/C Condensor (rated up to 25 SEERS), which was widely regarded as the most efficient A/C Condensor available, and also one of the quietest models available. They helped me to select the ultra-quiet gas heater (also from the George Lennox Signature Collection), and did a custom installation to make the heater operate as quietly as possible. The installation process took about 3 days, plus some follow-up time to address and resolve permit-related issues. Along the way, I learned how important the heater installation process is to the outcome. Because I was particularly concerned about reducing the noise in my Master BR from my old heating unit, the Mauzy team came up with an installation plan that included: (1) selecting the quietest A/C Unit Available (the quietest Unit in the George Lennox Signature Collection); (2) hanging the A/C Unit from the ceiling of my attic (rather than mounting it on the attic floor); (3) installing 2 sheets of fiberglass sound insulation below the Heating Unit; and (4) venting it to the outside. The Installation Plan worked as I had hoped, i.e., the new Heater is far quieter than the one that replaced it. Finally, Mauzy obtained all required permits, and helped me to get the Factory Rebate (in this case $1,400) offered by Lennox on my A/C Products. Although it took a couple of months for Lennox to deliver the Rebate, they ultimately sent my rebate in the form of a $1,400 Lennox Credit Card, which I could convert to cash as a Cash Advance, or use to purchase other products, just like any other credit card. I was pleasantly surprised at how active Matt Mauzy was in answering questions along the way, and in coming up with the custom gas heater installation plan that worked as promised. The whole Mauzy Team was very customer friendly throughout the sales and installation process. The total cost of this job was approx. $18,100, including Permit Fees, before subtracting the Lennox Rebate of $1,400. The total Net Price (shown below), after Lennox rebate, was approx. $16,700.
Description of Work: I had two objectives. First, I wanted to replace my noisy and inefficient A/C Condensor Unit (an old 10 SEER Trane Unit) located outside of the kitchen area of our home. Second, I wanted to replace our old Gas Heater (aka Air Handler) and get the quietest possible Gas Heating Unit, because my old Gas Heater was relatively noisy and located in the attic above my Master Bedroom.
