El Cajon Electric were great. They were easy to contact and when they said they would call me back to schedule they did that very same day. Only one guy showed up the first day and when he eventually got to a point where he needed help he called and two more guys showed up. We were happy he called & asked for help rather than not fix it or screw something up. Everyone was friendly, professional and worked for a long time to try and fix our issues. It became apparent that they were going to have to come back the following day with special equipment to try and diagnosis some of the problems. They promptly arrived the next day on time and got to work and 3 hours or so later everything was fixed and we finally know where each light switch works to what outlet!! LOL. We also love having an outdoor socket for our TV and the new electrical outlet for our new ceiling fan works great. They even offered to install the fan for us if we had it but we hadnt purchased it right then. The guys answered all our questions, went over their warranty on parts & labor, and even gave me a quick rough estimate if we wanted to have them figure out our pool light issue. I would definitely hire them again!

The quote was more than double the next highest. It was over $3,000. He Didn't want the work obviously. Had another company drive from north county and they got the job done for under $500 and were done in 2 hrs.

They did a very nice quick job. The price was reasonable.

Of course, I made a couple of changes on the fly. The electrician was courteous and made the changes without a problem. All the work was completed in one day.

So, ever since we bought our house, we've had an issue where the power outlet by the washer/dryer would stop working about once every 9 months or so, then mysteriously start working again. Well, it happened again on Tuesday, so I called an electrician to take a look. Bill (Journeyman) and Zach (assistant) came out and after 45 minutes of troubleshooting, Zach was able to follow the line in the attic, all the way to where it originated. Well, turns out that the previous owner connected the washer/dryer outlet in to the refrigerator outlet, and did such a crappy job, the wire connections were loose. A quick fix and everything is up and running again. The cost was less than I thought it was going to be, at $165. This was well worth not having to crawl through the attic. The moral of the story is that if you need an electrician, I would highly recommend El Cajon Electric. From first call through the completion of the job, everything went very smoothly. Their hourly rates and call charge are less than most of the electricians I checked out, and they were quick in getting the job done. Very happy with them.

Awful...Dishonest, expensive estimate and charged way too much for basically nothing.. Here's what happened. I asked El Cajon Electric for an estimate. The repairman took a look at my external motion sensor light that was not working properly since only one of the two bulbs were coming on. He determined I needed a new one. That took him only about 10 minutes. My swimming pool light also would not turn on and he said the wiring to the light in the pump house was messed up from a recent pump installation and I needed to have a new neutral wire pulled from the electrical junction box. The written estimate for both repairs came to $578 In addition, I was overcharged for the estimate because II did not expect a 1/2 hour fee for the electrician @ $75 on top of the $85 service charge for the estimate. I thought the service charge would cover the time of under an hour that the repairman was at my home. And it turns out all that money spent was BASICALLY FOR NOTHING!! Here's the big problem....After El Cajon Electric's estimate, I hired another electrician who gave an estimate for free and discovered that there was nothing wrong with the wiring...the on-off switch for the pool light was broken!! He had a new pool light switch and GFCI outlet installed within a half hour and the pool light turned on just fine. I had a new exterior motion sensor light installed also Both things together were installed in under an hour. So either the El Cajon Electric repairman was incompetent or El Cajon Electric was trying to rip me off with the $578 estimate knowing that a new electrical line from the junction box was not needed. You make your own judgement about whether you want to hire them.

Bill arrived on schedule, looked at problem, and because I didn't know what was wrong (although I had a vague Idea) he did not have the proper supplies in the truck he had to go purchase them. He came back and working in very bad light and heat (we live in the valley and it reached 100 degrees that day) he quickly replaced two very old (dated 1984) ballasts. Bill's work was very professional. He was polite and friendly. I now have a bright light (that works) in my naturally dark kitchen.

They did a great job! They did some inside electrical work and switched plugs. Also did some wiring of the house. They were timely, kind, and did what they said they would do. Everything turned out great would definitely use them again.

We had a motion sensor security light that operated off the switch for another exterior light. We wanted the motion sensor light to be operational all night even when the other light was switched off Bill changed the wiring to the motion sensor light so it operates off a separate switch. He also replaced the existing motion sensor light with a new light. Unfortunately, the new light had a round base plate and the existing light had a rectangle base plate and rectangle junction box. To solve the problem, Bill removed the motion sensor and the bulb holders from the new light and attached them to the existing rectangle base plate to use the existing wiring. Bill listened carefully to what I wanted to do and then used his many skills to solve the problem

The GFI receptacle on the patio did not work. Bill assessed the GFI receptacle on the patio and explained it was connected to the GFI reset in the bathroom. He explained that the receptacles in the other bathrooms should also be connected to the GFI reset. He checked the receptacles in the other bathrooms and found one receptacle that was not connected to the GFI reset. He tested the other bathroom receptacles to make sure they worked with the GFI reset Bill replaced the malfunctioning GFI receptacle on the patio and replaced the non-GFI receptacle in the bathroom with a GFI receptacle A timer light switch was malfunctioning so Bill replaced it. One of 2 matching exterior coach lights was malfunctioning so Bill replaced that light and the matching light

Frank, the owner, arrived when the assigned technician was running late on an earlier job site. Arrived on time, went right to work, and had the two issues fixed in 30 minutes. El Cajon Electric will be the company I call for any future work, and will be the company I recommend to all my friends.

They were prompt, and did a good job. They are a great company and I had a good experience. They were in and out and left the area clean.

This company squeezed us in and fixed a short which had affected lighting and our TV reception. Bob quickly and efficiently diagnosed and fixed the problem. I highly recommend El Cajon Electric. I am going to use them to do some additional work for us (installing recessed lighting) shortly. A great find for us . Rich Robinson

They came out the next day and did the work on the spot. They had everything they needed in their truck and performed all the work I asked for for reasonable price. Will definitely call them again.

The workers (Bill & Mark) were on time and got to work quickly. They came up with the best solution for the installation and worked promptly to complete the task. They were knowledgable about what needed to be done, were neat with the clean-up and helpful with the questions I asked. They also helped with checking out the lighting for my swimming pool, checking the power source and reseting the circuit. Over-all I can recommend El Cajon Electric for your electric needs. They have completed several jobs for me in the past, from ceiling fans, whole house fans, electrical box's, and wiring issues and have always done an excellent job!

It went very well and I am enjoying the lights outside which makes me feel safer.

Bob came on time to evaluate our loss of electricity in half the house. He showed me that the main breaker-buss was burned and needed replacement. Since the circuit breakers were 27 years old these were also replaced. The following day El Cajon Electric showed up on time and did an excellent job replacing the interior parts of the service panel. The total service was very professional. El Cajon Electric is highly recommended.

We got them from Angie’s List. They were very honest. They estimated the work, and it was under what they estimated. They came when they said they would. They took their time and troubleshot lower cost solutions before going to the higher cost. We were real pleased with them. We definitely are keeping their name, and we will absolutely use them again in the future. We have already referred them to enough of our friends.

The overall experience was positive.

Bob was very professional and helpful in explaining procedure and did leave until he was sure everything worked. He did not try to upgrade my unit but upon my concern about the age of my fixture explained that what I have would probably last for some time and what I would need and the approximate cost when I was ready. As a widow on social security I really appreciate a company what does not take advantage of my situation. El Cajon Electric is on my "call" list for future service.

Matt troubleshot issued down to improper wiring hookup from previous owner of house.remodel Dining area outlet. Matt checked out outlet and found some issues and repaired. Living room outlets missing covers. Matt help us by putting new covers on them Excellent service. For about the last 3 weeks the house has been losing partial power. Sometimes the dining room lights would dim for no apparent reason. Very frustrating as we were constantly having to reset clocks and reprogram the televisions. We have strange schedules and have a hard time finding a good time of day to schedule an electrician to come out so have been putting off calling an electrician. Called El Cajon Electric and explained problem. Receptionist was very nice and professional on the phone. I told her my location and she said that Matt was on his way to another appointment in my area and he could stop by same day, likely within the hour. Matt showed up as I was told he would. He was extremely polite and got right to work looking for what the problem could be. Matt kept me informed as to what he was doing as he did it, explaining everything to me. Matt quickly, and accurately, determined the problem and told me how he could fix it. El Cajon Electric had all the replacement parts and took care of the problem right away. Start to finish Matt completed the job in about 1 hour! We now have power working perfectly again and couldn't be happier with the experience. We will continue to use El Cajon Electric for all future electrical needs.
