Description of Work: Some time you're not sure if you are getting screwed. Yesterday, garage door is stuck in down position and i can't budge it, so one car out,one car in. Lots of stuff to do next day so called this guy who had installed the door years ago, but did not ask for quote over phone(mistake). He showed up as planned early next day. Gave verbal estimate and then Installed two overhead springs with about 30 min labor, $285. Was I screwed? Not sure but I think so, but really needed the cars for a busy day.Screwed or not in San Diego

Description of Work: I hired Dlouhy Doors to replace my garage door.

Description of Work: My employer, Dr. Kasiri, called Dlouhy Doors because he did work previously for him in 2005, which was fair. He wanted him to come and fix his double garage opener which the spring had snapped. Dr. Kasiri called him on Sun, he came on Mon and looked at it, gave estimate of $600. Dr's wife called another company and they came the same day and changed both of the springs on the large garage door and they charged $200. He also made an appointment the same Sunday so he could look at the garage door opener at his office. One side of the rail brace wasn't connected to the wall and he wanted him to fix it and if the engine/motor needed to be replaced. He said the engine is okay, he would lubricate it, adjust it, and fix the bracket on one side of the wall. He charged $250 after he lubricated, and adjusted the door and he left. Dr had an appointment with someone else, got an estimate to adjust, lubricate, and change engine to 1 hp and fix bracket or any other loose screws, etc, for $350.

Description of Work: I called this company to request repair for my Chamberlain garage door opener, which wouldn't close except from the wall switch. The woman who answered the phone asked me a couple of questions about the door, and suggested I check the light beams and made sure they were parallel to the floor. She said she would gladly schedule a service call but suggested I try this first, which I did, and it worked. The garage door got "repaired" in less than a minute thanks to her suggestions.

Description of Work: A very heavy double, wood, sectional door had been making a lot of noise. We did not notice until too late that many of the nuts holding the hinges between the sections had come loose. We finally noticed when the hinges snapped opened and one of the sections bent. Dean Dlouhy realigned sections, lubricated, tightened bolts, put on new wheels, balanced, etc. We have a single and a double door (3 car garage), and he did both, though we only had new wheels put on the large door.

Description of Work: GTEAR KIT INSTALLED. DOOR LUBED. TESTED OPENER AND RESET. RESET TRAVEL LIMITS.
