I highly recommend Dana Logsdon Roofing. They use the best quality roofing products, were very responsive in responding to my calls and questions, were able to quickly schedule the roof replacement, did a fine job cleaning up each day, and provided the best price and value compared to two other Angie's List companies that provided quotes.

Bottom line, they did a -GREAT JOB- on the roof, but -NOT- on the solar installation. We chose Logsdon Roofing because they indicated they could do both the new roof -AND- solar system, rather than us needing to contract with two different companies who didn't work with eachother. That turned out to be a -BAD- decision, because the solar installation wasn't designed properly (solar panels casting shadows covering 50% on nearby panels). Therefore, solar panel arrangement had to to be re-designed & panels moved, requiring re-work/patching of the new roof. Also, during installation, the solar crew drilled holes through the roof -AND- through our open-beam ceiling. Obviously, they needed to do some interior patching to our knotty pine ceiling. They started the job in early October, and finished everything in December.

He removed my old shingles (2 layers) and the old tarpaper. He replaced the tarpaper and installed new shingles, flashing & vents. He painted the vents to match the shingles. No leaks so far after about 7 years.

Went as planned. Crew was professional and my exterior was cleaned up each day. They were helpful with working with my Direct TV to be remounted on my roof after work was done. No surprises. I received one other estimate for my roof which was a little higher, but Dana came across as more professional, so that impacted my decision more than the cost.

Had these guys come out and do a torch down on two sections of my roof that weren't graded properly. Work was smooth, quick and professionally done. I also found their prices to be very reasonable. We are now water tight. Thanx Tim and Dana! Update: We did have some problems with our roof causing some ceiling damage. At first Dana was very responsive, sending someone to tar it right away. When that did not work, Dana came out himself to look at the problem. My issue was that from that point on Dana maintained that "his roof" was watertight and that the issues were from somewhere other than the section he had worked on. I maintained that since I was not a roofer and had contracted him to find and stop the leak, that there was no "his roof". It should be viewed as a single project. I asked only one thing. To be watertight. We went back and fourth and ended up agreeing that he was going to strip back two rows of shingles to address the problem. When it came time to do the repairs, no shingles were pulled and they only added a little waterproofing in two of the seams. I had another contractor find the issue in a matter of minuets and fix the problem permanently. I emailed our findings, what we did to resolve them and have never heard back from mr. Logsdon. While we found Dana to be very personable. We were very disappointed with the response and follow through. I am no longer able to recommend this company

The red-tiled roof of my house started leaking during a rainstorm in mid-February. The rain leaked through the roof, saturated the ceiling drywall of our living room, saturated several living room walls in streaks, dripped onto the living room carpet, and soaked the carpet and padding. After contacting my insurance company, a local water damage company was assigned to stop the leak and repair the interior damage. To temporarily mitigate the immediate roof leak, the water damage company engaged Dana M. Logsdon Roofing, Inc. to cover the roof of my house with a plastic tarp. Logsdon arrived, spread the tarp on the roof, and got into his truck to drive away. I ran out of the house, stopped him, and asked if he was available to fix the roof permanently. He stated that he was busy until July (this was February), suggested that I go with someone else to repair the leak, and drove away. Four days later it rained. I collected over a gallon of water in two buckets in my living room. The tarp and its installation were completely ineffective. The water damage company later said that the tarp should have been draped over the peak of the roof, not just placed on the side. By placing the tarp where Logsdon did, the rain simply ran under the tarp from further up on the roof and entered through the leaky spot in the roof. The invoice sent by Logsdon stated "There are no guarantees on these repairs" so I was out of luck asking for a refund for this extremely poor and expensive job -- $500 for a 12x12-foot plastic sheet, poorly installed in less than 15 minutes, and not tested for effectiveness. I am posting this update on May 22, 2013, in reply to the response from Dana M Logsdon Roofing Inc regarding my initial review of the company?s work. Logsdon posted its response on Feb 01, 2013. The company?s response read: ?We did emergency tarping on this house through an insurance company . When we tarped the roof we sent photos a proposal to repair the roof with a 5 year warranty and an invoice for the emergency tarping. I'm not sure why the customer would say we were not interested in the work unless the insurance company did not forward our bid. Unfortunately the customer never contacted us directly. We only had the insurance companies information to send the bid.? Note that, other than acknowledging that they did the tarp work, Logsdon does not address the quality of their work, which was the primary subject of my review. With respect to that upon which the company did comment, the company?s statement is inconsistent in a number of ways with paperwork that I, the homeowner, received from Logsdon. In their Angie?s List response, Logsdon states that the work was done ?through an insurance company? and that Logsdon sent a proposal and the invoice to that insurance company. In fact, on February 24, 2011, I (the homeowner) received invoice number T11131 from Logsdon indicating that a payment of $500 was ?due upon receipt.? The invoice contained my name and was addressed to my home, where the work was done. I paid the invoice on March 6, 2011 with a personal check (#7954 on my Wells Fargo account), which Logsdon deposited into their California Bank & Trust account on or around March 11. If Logsdon?s assertion that they sent an invoice to my insurance company is correct, then Logsdon billed both my insurance company -- and me -- for the same work. In their Angie?s List response, Logsdon states, ?I'm not sure why the customer would say we were not interested in the work.? That is because, as I wrote in my initial review, when I spoke with Logsdon in front of my house after he placed the tarp, he indicated that he was busy until July and suggested that I hire someone else to fix the roof permanently. Logsdon wrote, ?Unfortunately the customer never contacted us directly.? Again, I spoke with Logsdon about fixing our roof permanently when he installed the tarp. Speaking face-to-face is direct contact. And, finally, ?We only had the insurance companies information to send the bid.? But Logsdon did have my name and address to send the invoice. And he did have my name and address on the check that I sent to him in payment. And he did actually install a tarp on the roof of my house ? albeit badly ? which means he did have my name and address; otherwise, how would he know where to go? He had all the information he needed to send the bid to me, but did not do so. The bottom line for me is that Dana M Logsdon Roofing performed a sloppy and ineffective job of placing a simple tarp on my roof; something upon which he never commented, much less apologized, in his response. He billed me and I paid him $500 for the job. Now, from his response to my original review, it appears that he may have also billed my insurance company for the same job. As to any bid that he may have prepared for fixing my roof permanently, that was not a part of this review. After the poor job that he did spreading a tarp on my roof, I am grateful that I did not receive his bid, for whatever reason. I stand by my original review.
