We had a wonderful experience with Joe and his team. I originally contacted Joe during the summer of 2011 for advice on our large diadora cedar tree. He spent over an hour with us discussing the tree and it's health and advising us to wait till the winter to do a major trim. I recontacted him in December 2011 and made an appointment for the trimming in January 2012. Joe and his team arrived early and took great care to cover our landscaping and plants before the trim of the tree. Our tree was very weighed down from years of growth, especially on the ends of the branches. Joe oversaw the entire trimming and was able to maintain the beautiful shape of the tree while relieving it of all the unnecessary weight. They took all branches and debris with them and left our yard spotless. Joe even called us a few days later to make sure that we were satisfied with the work and the look of the tree. We were completely satisfied with their work and would recommend Considerate Tree Care wholeheartedly.

Last year we found Joe and Considerate Tree Care through Angie's List. He came out and spent an hour free of charge telling me all the things we needed to do to make my fruit trees and palm trees grow better. We followed his advice and had the best fruit crop we have had in the 6 years they have been planted not to mention the trees just look super healthy now. We also started to manage the palm trees as he suggested and they have done great and also look very healthy. The point is he really put uson the right path to mange the trees and keep them healthy. So we need tree service once a year, and again we called Joe back this year. Again he spent about an hour with us going over what needed to be done. He looked over our fruit and palm trees and we discussed any problems they still may have and what we could do to fix that. As usual his advice was pretty spot on. He came back with his crew and spent about three hours doing all the work we had agreed to when he came to look over the yard. We will bring Joe back every year to care for our trees, he and his crew are really great. Will you pay a little more? Yes. Will you get great tree care and services? Absolutely.

Less than five minutes after I began to talk with Joe when he came to give an estimate, I knew that I would choose his company for this work. I can only echo the high praise he has routinely received from others on Angie's List. Yes, tree care is expensive, but I feel that Joe has given us more than our money's worth. The large strawberry tree was very bushy and overgrown, and now, thinned and shaped, it looks absolutely gorgeous, with the sun filtering through: it's a work of art, really. And the gum tree looks beautiful, too; I am hopeful that the pruning will give this very old tree a new lease on life. Joe is a great guy, friendly, sincere, and honest -- he's also an artist and a craftsman, who clearly has a deep understanding of trees and landscape. His two employees are also talented and very pleasant to have around. The three of them took over a day on the two trees, working steadily and carefully, pausing frequently to stand back and evaluate their shape and look. Joe was so easy and helpful to work with: not only did he thoroughly discuss with me beforehand the trees' needs and his plans for them, he also gave me invaluable advice about caring for them in the future. Furthermore, he readily agreed to a reasonable payment plan, for which I am very grateful: early December is a financially demanding time of year, but I did want to have the trees done before the winter/spring nesting season begins. Needless to say, I will be using Joe and Considerate Tree Care to work on other trees next year, and every year thereafter. I wouldn't use anyone else. This is one company that actually lives up to its name -- considerate!

I hired Considerate Tree Care, Inc. because I wasn't looking for someone to just cut back my trees. Anyone can snip or saw a branch off a tree, but knowing which ones to remove and why or where to make those cuts are critical to it's development. I wanted someone who knows trees, someone who understands that each tree has it's own unique characteristics. I have a lot of trees mostly fruit but a number of other various types as well. Tree care is not an inexpensive venture, but I look at it as an investment in my environment, much like my house. I have paid less for tree maintenance but there was a marked difference in the quality of work and care that was given. I have paid more, hiring tree companies that send out their arborist to give an estimate but when the crew comes or starts working the arborist is gone never to be seen again or he shows up when the crew is through- there was no supervision. Joe knows trees and his fees are fair and reasonable. He doesn't just come and give estimates, he shows up when he says he will with his crew and carefully supervises his employees, making sure that each tree is trimmed and pruned to his and my satisfaction. He is meticulus often times finishing up a tree, making sure each cut will enhance its growth. If you are interested in learning more about your trees, Joe is a fountain of knowledge and is more that willing to share his expertise with you. He and his crew are professional and courteous and just really nice guys I highly recommend Joe Jonas and Considerate Tree Care.

I have several trees in my yard and there were some branches from trees in my neighbor's yard that were encroaching on my property and inhibiting the growth and development of my trees. The owner of Considerate Tree Care, Joseph Jonas, came out and gave me a thorough estimate of the job and shared with me what I should do regarding the neighbor's trees. I got a couple other estimates and although Considerate was pricier, the thoroughness of the estimate was much better than the others. Joseph takes great pride in doing the best possible job and once I hired him that was even more evident. He and his crew arrived on time and worked diligently throughout the two days, taking great care to trim only what was needed to allow the trees to be healthy and still provide me with a yard that looks great, where light can now filter through the trees and make the yard a great place to spend time and entertain friends and family. I would definitely recommend Considerate Tree Care for all of your tree trimming needs.

Joe Jonas of Considerate Tree Care returned my call ASAP and made an appointment to come out for a free estimate on Saturday. While he was here, he not only agreed that there was a huge mess, but encouraged me to contact the city once again...to see if they would move my address up on their list. Our situation was truly a hazard...and an Emergency. Yesterday, Monday, a San Diego Street Division city crew of 3 people were here around 9:30 AM. They zipped through those trees with their big boom and were gone within an hour! If it hadn't been for Joe telling me to contact them again...to plead my case to them again...I don't think the trees would have been trimmed as fast as they were. I immediately emailed Jim Tarbert of the SD Street Division and thanked him. The next time I need tree service, I will not hesitate one minute before calling Joe.

The service was great. Joe Jonas came out to our property on a Saturday and talked to us about general maintenance of our plants and what the trimming would entail. He spent about an hour with us, which was fantastic for a free estimate. He was very flexible with scheduling (we scheduled the service for a little over a week later). On the day of, he and two of his employees had trimmed all the trees beautifully. Since our backyard is small, our lemon tree was pruned perfectly so that it is now compact and easy to reach the fruit, even though the tree is not a dwarf. He took the time to explain the espalier technique to me and show me how to do it, so I can keep up my bougainvillea myself if I want. They look fantastic along my fence, with the branch structure showing through, instead of being a crowded overgrown mess.

Mr. Jonas has taken care of my trees since 1994. At that time he organized a massive job of cutting down a 75 foot tall, 100 year-old Palm Tree that had become diseased. Several palm trees in the neighborhood had dropped their massive frond heads and I feared a disaster. Cutting that tree was a very hard decision for me but Mr. Jonas helped with every step of the way and the job got done without a glitch. His most recent work for us was last month, August 2011. As always, Mr. Jonas was highly professional, he arrived on time and he spent time going through the yard with me and asking questions about the work. I hired him to remove 7 Podocarpus trees and a Cape Honeysuckle tree. I also wanted the stumps ground. He was knowledgeable and thoughtful and carefully listened to the reasons for the work. He also, kindly answered many question from my nine-year old. He made suggestions that were excellent and constructive. I told him to proceed with the work and on the appointed day he arrived on time, did the job cleanly. The Cape Honeysuckle root straddled an irrigation pipe that I forgot was there. The pipe was damaged and I received a call from him to let me know. When I got home from work that evening, I fully expected to spend a couple a hours fixing the broken irrigation pipe, but to my great delight, I discovered that he had repaired the pipe! I was very happy. I will continue to hire Mr. Jonas to care for my trees simply because I trust him completely. He is the BEST in the business.

Joe arrived as scheduled for his estimate and spent a considerable amount of time talking to me about all of the trees on our property, our sprinkler system, and landscaping in general. (This stood in stark contrast to another tree service, which emailed a quote based only a picture that I had sent.) Joe is clearly very knowledgeable and takes great pride in what he does. He kept in contact with us regarding scheduling and made an effort to come at a time that was convenient for us. Joe remained on site for the entire job, working alongside his two men, both of whom were friendly and professional. They did a great job with the trees and with the debris removal. By the time they were finished cleaning up, there wasn't so much as a stray leaf in the yard. Although Considerate Tree Care was a little more expensive than other companies we contacted, we felt that the quality of the service was more than worth it. We have additional plans for landscaping our yard, and we look forward to working with Joe in the future. We would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone who is looking for truly "considerate" service.

Mr. Jonas was on time for his estimate of work, he gave us an estimate based on the time to do the job correctly. He kept in touch with us regarding when the job could be done and worked around our schedule. The men who worked for him were well trained and supervised through the whole process. We considered the other bids we had gotten; but we could see that the bidders did not have a real grasp of how long the job was going to take if done throughly. We are very pleased to recommend this company to anyone who is looking for truly professional service.

My experience with Joe Jonas was entirely positive. He IS considerate, as his business name indicates, and he does care about both trees and people. He cares about his clients and about his helpers. He is knowledgeable about trees and has all the equipment required for good work and safety. I heartily recommend him and will undoubtedly call upon him again.

Joe trimmed trees at my house six years ago. Someone told me he's the "Mercedes Benz" of tree care. I agree. His prices are high, but the trees he trimmed six years ago have grown from ugly duckling to swan. When my rental property needed the trees trimmed - and some removed because the neighbors were afraid they were going to fall on them - I was more than happy to pay top dollar to be sure the job would be done professionally and safely. It was. I will hire him again for sure.

He is fantastic. He told us what we need to do and how we need to do it. He has been a great resource since them. I can call him, and he will follow up. They specialize in trees, as opposed to some of the other companies that I looked at. They seemed to be knowledgeable. He was very helpful on the phone.

We were very pleased and will definitely call on him in the future. He is a very friendly guy who really knows what he's doing, and he explains things very clearly. He's also incredibly organized and keeps your job on his mind, even when he's working on other jobs. For instance, after he came out the first time, but before we had scheduled the second visit, there was an incredible rain storm. Joe called to see how the trees had weathered it, because they had been so laden with fruit that he feared that some branches might have snapped. Fortunately, acting on his advice, I had already culled a lot, so there wasn't any damage.

Mr. Jonas provided an excellent service, and spent over an hour explaining patiently and expertly what my plants and trees needed to thrive. Thank you, Mr. Jonas.

I called Considerate Tree Care to consult about my jacaranda trees: one had grown off balance and one was clearly in danger of dying. Joseph Jonas arrived promptly, diagnosed all the problems, and provided remedies, which involved proper trimming and shaping, correct root care, and proper watering. A few days later he arrived with his helper and a large truck. He took charge of the situation, and the men spent a number of hours trimming and shaping carefully and drilling holes in the soil to insert fertilizer. The unhealthy tree already looks healthier and the "off-balance" tree now looks balanced. He also left careful instructions for proper future care. In feel that without his help, at least one of these trees would have died. I plan to call him again next year. He also left a half-bag of fertilizer for me to use on my other trees!!! Overall an excellent experience (and not costly, by the way). In general, Mr Jonas is unusually knowledgeable concerning trees and plants.

Joseph is very knowledgeable about trees with a focus on saving them via helping them become healthy again. We learned all kinds of information about how to help our trees stay healthy! We will be using him again.

Mr. Joe Jonas, the proprietor, and his assistant arrived promptly on the scheduled day. Unlike other tree service companies, Mr. Jonas leads the work effort and doesn't delegate it to a team of workers. I showed them several photos of Japanese pine trees that had been shaped to our liking. After discussing the look that we were after, they proceeded with the task which took approximately four hours. Several times during their effort, Mr. Jonas asked that I check on what they were doing to make sure that they were creating the look we desired. After all of the work had been done, they were thorough in picking up all of the branches and cones they had removed. The end result was what we were looking for and we couldn't be happier. I would definitely employ Considerate Tree Care again for any work on trees that are focal points in our yard.

My overall assessment of the job is excellent. The owner led the work team. He viewed his work as an artform and his approach showed in his work. I was very happy with how each of the trees turned out. They were shaped and laced without having the look of being severely trimmed. I was also very impressed with the care that they took to protect plants surrounding the trees they worked on. They did not damage any of the surrounding plants. They were also very thorough in cleaning up after their work. Another example of their professionalism and attention to detail is illustrated by their laying a protective sheet to protect against oil drippings before driving the boom truck onto our driveway . Overall, they did an excellent job and I will definitely call them for my future tree service needs.

IT WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE. THEY DID QUALITY WORK AND CLEANED UP. WE HAVE USED THEM 2 TIMES AND PLAN TO USE THEM IN THE FUTURE.
