C & J FENCE CO

I will have C&J Fence install another 6 ft chain link fence along the other half of the bank after I remove the vegetation. I went with chain link as it is pretty much indestructible and I don't want to have to mess with it for hopefully the rest of my lifetime. I plan on growing hedges in front of them to hide them. Bill (owner of C&J Fence) and Jake (his son) determined the property line from two markers I had identified by a surveyor. This was difficult due to the vegetation on the other half of the bank. Bill and Jake were professional and patient with all my questions. They performed the installation flawlessly and quickly. I had to go into work for a couple hours and expected to see them when I got back, but they were done, cleaned up and gone when I returned. I asked Bill if I should pay him before I left for work as I didn't know if I would get back in time, but he said not to worry, that I could mail him the check. I had 3 estimates for this fence and Bill came in hundreds of dollars less which is a lot considering the total cost was only $910. I would highly recommend C&J Fence and will use them if ever I need a fence and will tell anyone that needs a fence to use them. I am an extremely satisfied customer!

The company gave us the estimate and performed the work in a timely, competent manner. They did an excellent job matching the new railing to existing custom work. They were professional, courteous, and tidy.

It was not a large space but it was done in maybe 1/2 or 3/4 of a day. and was left very clean. I was having some other patio work done and they were able to work around that project.

On November 1, I received a proposal from C&J fencing to remove about 470? of my old fencing and replace it with new vinyl three rail with chain link fencing. The following week, I determined C&J had the best proposal and I telephoned Bill to find out when they could start. Bill told me he thought he could start the week of December 3, which would be in three weeks. On December 4th, I had not heard from Bill since I accepted his offer, so I telephoned him and asked him when he planned on starting. He said he did not have his schedule but he would call me that evening. He did not call, so the next day I telephoned him again. This time he told he would not be able to start my job until after January 1st, which was another four weeks away. At that point I advised him I was withdrawing my accepance of his proposal because he would not perform the work within my timeframe. I just lost confidence that he would even do the work in January, so I went with another contractor and the work was completed on December 19th..

Their quote was very reasonable. The workmanship was excellent. They were on time, within budget and did exactly what was asked. I couldn't ask any more. I am very pleased with our experience with C+J Fencing and highly recommend them.

This is the second time I have employed Mr. Jungers. Both times he was prompt on coming over, clear on what would be best to do, and submitted a bid significantly below the other two Angie's List people contacted for the same job. Both times he arrived on time to do the work, and did a superior job.

We had problems with an iron gate from another company. Bill was knowledgable, professional, courteous, arrived promptly as scheduled, he gave an objective assessment of what was wrong and offered a reasonable plan to fix it. He then made the necessary repairs, all in a timely manner and at a fair price.

Bill the owner came to do the estimate. I had already gotten 3 other quotes and I liked him the best personality-wise. He was very thorough in his explanation of how the job would be done and what materials would be used. He was very accoomodating about all the plants that we have growing next to the fence. All the other fencing companies were requiring us to do massive cut-downs on those plants in advance, where as Bill said that he'd appreciate if we could trim them a bit, but he'd work with whatever is there and do his best to make sure that the plants survive the new fence being installed. We have a very difficult neighbor that we were splitting this fence with and he was very patient and acoomodating to her as well. Bill provded both me and my enighbor with printed estimates of the work, clearly showing our parts of the financial responsibility. When I told Bill that I liked him the best, but that his estimate was not the lowest, he came back to me with a new quote that beat all the others. Bill and his worker showed up on time and worked steadily for 1.5 days to get the job done. At one point on the first day, they broke an irrigation pipe. Bill told me about it right away and fixed it on day two, bringing all the neccessary supplies himself. The new fence looks fantastic and the gate swings smoothly and closes solidly. I found both Bill and his worker to be courteous and efficient. Additionally, they worked cleanly, leaving no mess behind. Overall this job was hassle free for us. We were very, very pleased with C & J and we'd happily call them again for any further fencing needs.

Our frustration with this construction was that boards were not cut straight, the supporting beam which was screwed into the cement wall was crooked and several boards for the fence were damaged. I asked that they at least replace two boards because they were so bad that even sanding would not cure the problem. Nicer boards should be placed on the outside which is in full view. Bill obligingly left and obtained two new boards. Overall, my family looked at the gate in the evening and said that I paid too much for a job that was not installed properly and unfinished. We have since had to sand the wood and fill in where uneven cuts were made. Perhaps the job was too small for the company to pay attention to detail but in the final analysis, my family felt the job was not done correctly. Additionally, I never received an original quote in writing but rather via phone. I paid the company on the day services were rendered and I have yet to receive the paid invoice. The owner claims that his wife sends the invoices because he is not computer literate. In this day, one should grasp the importance of providing quotes and invoices via email or fax or even write one out on premise, he has done none of the above.

I called Bill Jungers to give me an estimate for replacing the fence on one side of my house. It was almost falling down and I figured if I was happy with the replacement job, I would get the other side done a little later since it wasn't quite as bad. I wanted to get a narrow concrete base under the fence to help keep the runoff and weeds from the neighbors house out of my backyard. Bill said it was no problem, only that it would take an extra day for the concrete to set. The estimate was good and I scheduled the installation. Everything went smooth and fast. I was very happy with the work. When they finished I asked Bill to give me an estimate for the other side fence. He did, but said they had other jobs scheduled and couldn't get to it for a while. I told him to give me a call when they were able to do it but he never did. That was the reason I had waited to do this review. I recently had landscaping work done by San Diego Landscape Solutions and they were able to replace the other fence. It wasn't quite as good or as cheap as C&J, but at least I got it done.

Their bid was the best and their performance was perfect. I would hire them again.

I must apologize to C and J Fence Company for my first report that they did not return an estimate as promised. Someone did receive the faxed estimate at my house but then buried it in a pile of papers without notifying me that it came in. However, it did take 4 days to get the estimate vice the 2 days Bill had indicated and his bid was $2,177.00 higher (more than double) than the price I ended up paying to another highly rated fence company from Angie's List. Same height fence, same style and materials, and in fact Bill's bid was for 13 feet less fence than his competitors. Don't know why he was so expensive as he has never called back to follow up on the estimate.

I called C& J Fencing Co. and immediately got through to someone. They were pleasant on the phone and I was happy to find out they were available to come give me an estimate the following day. Well...the few hour window for our appointment came and went with no communication from their side. I didn't even receive a call stating that they couldn't make it or that they would be late or anything. I was terribly upset that I took the time to be home and wait for them to show up and they didn't even have the decency to call me about missing our appointment. It is very surprising to me that in this economy people have the ability and nerve to simply stand up prospective clients. All in all I guess I'm happy that they didn't show up because it is better to find out how unreliable a company is BEFORE you give them any money. And, thankfully, I had an appointment set up for later that same day with a company that is actually prompt and professional so they will be completing my $7,000 job instead...I guess C & J Fencing Co. didn't need the money. I would not recommend C & J Fencing Co., I would not use them again, and I would recommend that anyone looking for fence work go elsewhere to a more reliable company that respects their prospective clients.

The addition to my fence was done on time with grade A quality. Also the actual cost was less than the estimate.

Bill and his step son comprise this small fencing company. Based on the most reviews with an overall "A" score i was most interested in retaining his services. I emailed photos and detailed descriptions of the job. I called him almost daily for a week. Bill eventually showed up a week or so later. He was knowledgeable and professional. He stated he would call and or respond to my email with a quote for the job later that night. He did say one caveat was he could not start the job for 6 weeks do to his overwhelming work load. Apparently he is so busy he never called or emailed me back. I surmise from his grade 'A' and the most reviews homeowners are naturally drawn to seek his services. I suspect he does good work. However he is so overwhelmed with only him and his step son he hasn't the time to respond to quotes, phone calls or emails. My advice is hire more employees or your good reviews will plummet.

AWESOME! Bill and his assisitant were prompt, professional, pleasant and efficiant. They made sure that the curve of the wrought iron fence was correct before installation and matched the style of the existing iron work on my house. Everything was done on time and within budget. I plan to use Bill and his company again when I'm ready for my next wrought iron project in the near future. I cannot recommend C&J Fence Co highly enough, call them for your fencing needs!

Awesome....he showed up on time and completed the job in about 6 hours, less than I expected. I was on site to ensure all went as planned and Bill actually welcomed that. No issues with Bill or the install, extremely happy with the experience. Bill is honest, professional and polite. Bottom line...he is a straightshooter. I have to install another fence on the other side of my property after I install a retaining wall....Bill will be back !
