They wanted to charge a $79 fee just to come out and bid the job. They called this a service fee but no real service was performed. On a project like this it would be crazy not to get multiple estimates. I guess they don't have faith in their ability to compete against competitors.

They come out twice a year to service the system. They call to set up the appointment and the technician is always very professional, courteous, and punctual. This last time the technician was Jeremy Zavala and he was excellent.

We hired Bob Jenson Air Condtioning and Heating after obtaining several estimates for a new heater and AC install in our 50+ year old home. Bob Jenson's estimate was very competitive. Mike did a thorough inspection of our home with regards to a new install. He took measurements and made a schematic to include recommendations of the good, better, and best options for us to consider. Mike explained our options and answered all our questions. Considering every estimate, we decided to hire Bob Jenson Air Conditioning and Heating. The team of workers, Randy, Hector, and Tony, were prompt, polite, and professional. The install took three days. Day one: the heater and condensor were installed. Day two: the old ducts were removed and new ducting and registers were installed. Day three: completion of duct work, registers, condensation drip line install, and finishing touches. Each day the installers worked hard and cleaned up nicely at the end of the day. Randy, the job foreman, addressed and answered all of our questions or concerns. Now we have a new air conditioning and heating system in our home. We are very happy with the service provided by Bob Jenson Air Conditioning and Heating. We also purchased the maintenance program to keep our new system working at its best. We highly recommend Bob Jenson Air Conditioning and Heating for its great work and great customer service.

I'm on an annual maintenance thing where they come out twice a year to do the seasonal check and then they come out again anytime you have a problem. It's a flat rate for the year, it's a couple hundred dollars, and it covers all of their maintenance plus the two annual trips that they come to check it out and update it and make sure it's working okay. They call me and tell me when I'm due. Always come on time. They are all qualified people.

The whole process went well. During the sales cycle I wanted a consultative dialog where my desires were listened to and addressed. Bob Jenson did this best among the five A-rated companies I solicited bids from. During negotiation I wanted a fair price for the custom job and Bob Jenson was fair and certainly MUCH cheaper than the bigger services. Lastly, during the installation I wanted them to deliver exactly what was promised, accept input over the course of the three day installation, and to do professional work in a careful and clean way. Bob Jenson delivered on every front and I'm happy to endorse them.

We are so impressed with the quality of their work I had to call and compliment them for their excellence. It is very refreshing in this day and age, when you see so much incompetence, to find a company where all of the employees are professional, considerate and fair. We had been trying to install AC in two areas of the house where it gets very hot due to the windows and orientation. We had an old AC unit that we never used because it was not efficient and the equipment was not working. Since that was installed in the 2nd floor of a tiled roof house the installation was tricky. We had to hire a big crane to move the old equipment and put the new one and were concerned about possible damage to the driveway. We decided to do it and were impressed how well that went and no damage to anything. this took place in July of 2016. Yesterday (Sep 28) we noticed that one of the units was not working as it was before. We called Bob Jenson and they sent someone the next day. The technician went above and beyond to make sure he took care of the problem (adding liquid to the unit and tinting it so that if in the future there was a leak it would be easily identified). He spend several hours doing that and was beyond pleasant in spite of the horrible heat he was working on while crawling on small spaces. I wholeheartedly recommend this company.

Great Job. The installers (Tony & Manny) were exceptional. It's so good to see that level of professionalism. They explained what they will be doing and when they will be done. They kept my home clean during the 3-day installation and when they were done, they took time to show me the work they did and how to use the equipment. Additionally, all documentation and manuals were packaged and handed to me. I will absolutely recommend Bob Jenson AC to my friends and family.

Very well. While I did not ultimately go with this company, they were an extremely close second choice. It was one of three quotes I got from companies that appeared to have generally excellent (and hopefully legitimate) reviews on Angie's List and Yelp. The person who came to do the quote did a very thorough and thoughtful job of examining my place and recommended 'good,' 'better,' and 'best' options. All three companies provided quotes in the same general range; none were 'discount' firms as my research indicated that the quality of the installation is critical with a job like this so a firm's reputation was really important to me--and the reputation of this company appears to be excellent. I chose a different firm because I preferred the HVAC brand they identified--and after I accepted their bid, it turned out that Bob Jenson could have also used that brand. Had I known that, Bob Jenson would probably have been my first choice--and I did provide that feedback to the service technician who provided the quote, suggesting that they let the customer know they carry multiple brands (not just the one in their quote).

In both calls, today and 3 years ago, I got the same high level of professional service. Both service calls occurred on time and were handled competently and efficiently. They diagnosed the respective problems and quickly provided the solutions. But they each also explained what they were going to do before they started. Then they explained what they had done to make sure I understood everything and that all my questions were answered with courtesy and respect. Even the office staff that took my two calls were polite and efficient, again what would happen when the technicians came, what it would cost, and working to get their technician to my door as soon as possible. They couldn't predict the cost of the circuit board itself 3 years ago, but everything else was exactly as priced out on the phone before we even set up a serivce appointment. The cost in each case was quite reasonable and I was fully satisfied that I got treated right and got my money's worth as well.

I like the way they did the install. I like their honesty, their integrity and professionalism when they put the system in so I had to sign up to have them do the 6-month maintenance.

They are great. Efficient. Clean. They were shoe booties to keep customers house clean. They are excellent.

Wow! Best experience I've had with any service provider on Angie's List. Kevin the owner is personally involved and really cares but also has a great front office and field staff behind him. We have an older house that cannot accommodate traditional AC with our ducting, so we installed the Fujitsu system. Jenson won the bid among four companies we spoke with and had the most thoughtful proposal plus the best pricing (still pricey, but beat out others). My wife wanted to have some of the units concealed rather than exposed and they had good ideas for how to accomplish that. Our project required city approval and they took care of all of that (it was a pain!). Afterwards, the installation ran into some odd things as they explored our crawlspaced but they handled those challenges effectively and without complaint. The system is working great. And we had some questions afterwards which were swiftly answered. Overall this company is an A+, great to deal with and we're very happy with the work.

My wife and had a Fujitsu "split" AC/heat unit installed by Bob Jenson Air Conditioning and Heating, El Cajon, CA, on 8/14/2014. When I initially called the company to ask someone to visit our home and consult with us I was pleasantly surprised at the courtesy and prompt handling of my call. I was put in touch with Dave Swader, who I learned coordinated appointments and assignments. Dave advised me that Cyrus Thomas would be the person arriving at our home on August 5 (2014). As a follow-up courtesy notice we received an email from Cyrus confirming his appointment to be at our home at 8:00am on August 5th. The email was complete with a photograph of Cyrus in company uniform; no mistaking who would be at our door,for which we were appreciative. Cyrus arrived promptly and was, obviously, recognized by us. Cyrus was very courteous and displayed sincere interest in listening to our primary objectives. We wished to primarily control the temperature in our kitchen/dining area, and felt that in so doing it would also affect, to some degree, the adjoining sitting/living room. We asked about ductless "split" unit. We have an older home, about 1,100-1,200 square feet that stretches, in a downward fashion from the kitchen/dining area four levels, reaching the bedrooms at lower and farthest end. Cyrus was very professional, conducting his observing and calculations as to what may be required to meet our wants. Cyrus recommended a Fujitsu and explained that it was recognized industry-wide for its reliability and parts availability. Cyrus calculated the unit to be a 1 1/2 ton capacity to handle the needs that we had described to him. We were familiar with Fujitsu having had one in our former home, and we're familiar with the performance and reliability. We asked about other manufactures and Cyrus explained why he had specified a Fujitsu, even though it was a little more expensive than others. We agreed with Cyrus' option and contracted for its installation. We were at ease with Cyrus throughout, and he had answered each of our questions quite thoroughly. The unit was installed on August 14,2014, by Ricardo and Saul. They were punctual, very professional, efficient and neat. I asked several questions of Ricardo during the install and he patiently answered them, which I appreciated. The first year "equipment inspection" was included with the contract. On March 16, 2015, Cyrus came and conducted the inspection. Our experience with Bob Jenson AC and Htg has been outstanding, and should we desire or need any future installation we would most definitely discuss our needs with them.

I have been working with Bob Jensen for about 10 years. This is the best service company that ever existed. They are professional, knowledgeable and on call at a moments notice for any problems. It's such a relief to finally have an honest, reliable company to work with. They don't try to sell you anything (unless you really need it) and give you a complete rundown on the condition of all your equipment. They just told me that I might need a new heat pump in 2 - 3 years, not now?but in 2 -3 years! I trust them completely, and hope that they are around forever.

Oh, how I just wish I could mark "A+" instead of just an "A." This company is fantastic. They installed a complete house air conditioning/heating system for me some years back, and continue to come twice a year to do maintenance. They are professional, thorough, respectful yet friendly, and they will follow up on anything I ask about. I have complete confidence in this company, and I have recommended them to many friends of mine. One nice touch is that they send an email with a picture of the one who is coming out to do the service. Always on time. The one time that the service representative was running late, the receptionist at the office phoned to let me know--and the service representative was only about 10 minutes late. A fine, fine company!

Bob Jenson was one of five companies that gave us estimates for installing a mini-split HVAC system in our home, and we chose them because the system they proposed was the best match for our needs (not overpowered, right number of zones) at the best price. Kevin, the president of the company, came to our home twice before the installation: once to draw up the original estimate, and again to do a walk-through before the installation to ensure we agreed on where everything would be installed. He was also responsive by phone and email when we needed questions answered about the plans. We liked Kevin as a salesperson: he gave clear explanations for why he chose the system he did, he listened to us to understand what was important to us, and there was no pressure to make a decision quickly or to consider upgrades we didn't need. They were able to start the installation just a week after we signed our contract. The installers, Eric and Tony, were friendly to work with and did a good job with keeping our house and property clean during the installation (other than the inevitable dust here and there). The installation was a bit more difficult than they expected because of the construction of our attic, but they persevered and brought in some extra hands to ensure that the work still got done on the day they originally told us it'd be done. Eric as the installation team leader was especially thorough and good to work with. Once the job was done, we did have one issue: we thought that the way the refrigerant lines were run from the condenser unit to the house didn't look as neat as it could. We contacted Kevin about it, and the next day Eric came back out to the house and figured out a way to improve the looks of the outdoor installation with an additional lineset cover. So far the system has worked really well, and we're very happy with the work that Bob Jenson did. We'd definitely recommend them to other people looking for an HVAC installer -- their prices are very fair, all the people we've worked with at the company are friendly and helpful, and they do good quality work.

We originally purchased and installed our Lennox AC and heater from Bob Jensen in 2004.Last year a part on the AC had to be replaced. I thought the cost was too much but had it done anyway. I called the company to complain and ended up speaking to the owner, Bob Jensen. He patiently listened to me and offered a free AC and heater maintenance, which I had done today. Sergio the technician was on time and very professional. The company stands behind their work. Would definatley use them again.

Experience was great. Picked the best of the bunch to install my system. Works great and loving it already. Also bought a 5 year service contract from them for $640 (2 visits per year) which extends the labor on the system for 5 years. The only comment I would like to pass along concerns the side venting of a mini-split interior unit. Depending on access to the outside of the home or when routing the line set in the attic it was necessary in my case to have an interior cover on the line set exiting to the right side of the inside unit and up into the attic. I think any future maintenance in this setup will be better from an access perspective so functionally it makes the most sense. The finished product looks great - this is just something to be aware of.

Cyrus was extremely through and not only tested the electronics and fault protection of the furnace, but cleaned it as well. I have been a customer of this excellent heating and air conditioning business for many years. They have never failed to impress me with their fine work and professionalism. Highly recommended!

We had an excellent experience with Bob Jenson's and would highly recommend them to anyone contemplating doing heating or cooling work. We decided we wanted to make some energy efficiency upgrades, to include a whole house fan. Bob Jenson sent a technician out to identify the scope of work and interview us to ensure they understood our desired end state so they could subsequently ensure they delivered the best product. They identified where the fan would need to be installed, which in our case was near the dining room. Cyrus, our project lead, searched for several days for the perfect fan and when he found it he sent a bid with several options for installation and alternate fans. We bid several companies, but Bob Jenson's bid accounted for both the fan and a small vent fan to optimize our attic cooling. Additionally, the product they found and special ordered accounted for its proximity to the dining room, as it is quieter than a conversation, so it can be run while we are eating supper or sitting in the living room without issue. We could not be happier with the customer service we received, the quality and speed of installation and the personalized attention we received throughout the process. We will certainly be remaining Bob Jenson customers for the long haul!
