I had a leaky regulator, that I attempted to fix myself, however the problem was beyond that and some of the main and regulator had to be replaced. It was a Sunday morning and I had guests coming for dinner. It had to be done so I called them. They worked efficient and quick. The price was worth it.

The technician did a great job. He checked out the heater and replaced the filter. He found a broken part ( the heater had not always been lighting) and had to order it (Friday). He returned Monday and quickly made the needed repair. We found the tech to be very polite and professional. We do wish that Anderson did not have such a large window for appointments. We were on the very end of the 4 hour window, which is a little frustrating, since we could have run errands and such, but at least we will be warm this winter.

We truly appreciate Angie’s List and the value the information it provides to its members. First and foremost, we thank Mr. [Member Name Removed] for allowing us into his home. We would like to address the concern and grade in this post. The technician we sent to the home is a senior training technician with over 35 years of experience and very knowledgeable with these systems. This particular home had 4 systems and the big deal purchase did not cover all systems. We offered to provide one free tune up but requested compensation for the remaining system but unfortunately, an agreement was not met. We apologize for any inconveniences this may have initially created and should this member decide otherwise, we are more than willing to extend the initial offer as stated here. It went well. Initially Syn, the tech, came out to survey the site. The following week William came with a camera/scope device. We found the clog. He gave me an estimate to hydrojet the drain to clear the tree roots and all. His estimate was higher than Syn's. I showed William Syn's quote on the invoice and he called the office to clear up the discrepancy. Turns out Syn thought the job could be done with their smaller hydro jet, but it could not. My only suggestion would be to specify what kind of drain was being offered on the deal. I expected the area drain was part of the offer but it was really meant for sewer drains, I was told when I called the office to clarify. Hence the reason for the initial survey before the work. Costly for them to send two employees out, but they honored the deal.

I called Anderson at 7:30 pm because the cold water valve on the bathtub would not shut off. I shut off the water to the house and wanted someone to come out in the morning to repair or replace the valve. The person who answered said he was only the night guy and promised to have someone call at 7:00 am the next morning. At 7:30 am when no one had called, I called Anderson. (We are still without water). After explaining the problem and giving all my information to the lady on the phone, she put me on hold. Eventually she came back and said they are too busy to come today and would tomorrow be ok? I reminded her we have no water and declined.

Quickly diagnosed the issue and provided a number of options for repair. In the end, we opted to have more work done to remove leaky section of 1 pipe and additional pipe that showed corrosion spots. Technician was courteous, covered work area and did the work very quickly. All in all, spent most of the day on site. Offered us a great price and solved our problem during a an emergency. Would definitely use them again.

Tried the least invasive way at my request, but we both determined that that way wasn't going to work,so we switched to the standard cut open the wall method. I appreciated that he was willing to try my suggestion first even though we both knew that it wasn't likely to work. It was a far more complex job than I first thought it would be, but I watched pretty much the entire job being done and was truly surprised at how complicated and difficult it was. Very glad I didn't try to do it myself. Eric, the plumber who did the work did an excellent job and was friendly, gave complete and detailed answers to all my questions and enjoyable to talk with. I wouldn't hesitate to use Anderson again and recommend them ti my friends. They installed my heating and air conditioning system many years ago and I had the same excellent experience.

Went excellent. II had to have a corroded, 26 yr old shut off valve replaced behind the refrigertor. He explained, he would work on it to see if he could get it to budge...It was really corroded and soldered on. He did explain, if he couldnt get it to come off, he would have to cut into the wall to get to the water line. But it finally starting turning evening though the threads were all corroded. He got it off and got a new one on. He made sure air was out of pipes and even check the water pressure. He was friendly, polite, cleaned up nicely. I recommend highly. My plumber/technician was Ken Slater.
Description of Work: Replaced shut off valve behind refrigerator. When I originally got the hous, I had all the valves replaced but i guess we all forgot about that one, as it sits behind the frig and is used for the ice maker...I don't think many people remember that one.

The person who answered the initial phone call was very friendly and was able to schedule the appointment for the next day. On the scheduled day two representatives arrived promptly and proceeded to evaluate the task at hand. They were very professional and very well dressed for plumbers. After a few minutes, the spokesperson of the two showed me a standard form including their pricing for various plumbing tasks. Based on previous quotes that I had received, their pricing was two to three times higher. I declined their services and thanked them for their time. They were very gracious in applying the waiver of the $42.00 normally charged for an estimate which was offered through Angie's List.
Description of Work: Two representatives came to my house and provided an estimate to install two bathroom sink faucets and one toilet, all three pre-purchased by me.

We have touched on this before but feel it is necessary to share again what is involved in our pricing. From the beginning of the hiring process, we drug test and perform a thorough felony background investigation. This allows us to weed out the employees who would not meet our standards of safety and ethics. Our technicians receive extensive training and are all licensed through the State of California. The invoices we use are in 100% state compliance and we carry well over the required amount of liability insurance. We hire the best and are priced to stay in business today, tomorrow and the future. Our technicians price by the job, this has proven to be an ethical and responsible way to do business as the technicians cannot set their own pricing and “milk a job”. They present the price upfront and thereby gives the customer the opportunity to move forward with our estimate or obtain other estimates. It appears we were not a fit but do thank you for your positive comments.

All went well. Service man was punctual, professional, all good. Price of $175.00 was a little high for installation of old style thermostat, retailing for $14.95. That was only problem, took less than 15 minutes to install. Well use again if emergency, as they seem to know what they are doing ( Only used once) but pricey.

We do show we provided service to you under the name and address as displayed here. However, our records for the name and location in this post indicate we provided service on January 2nd 2009 (over 6 years ago). The price paid at that time was $115.00 for a thermostat. We also responded two other times, January 12th 2009 for a full house plumbing inspection with a zero cost to you. The 3rd and final visit was on January 15th 2014 for a minor drain issue with a cost of $141.00. There is no record of us going to this address or name on September 14, 2014. Perhaps it was another company or even another property you may own. Would you be able to review your records and verify the accuracy of this post? Excellent. I had used this same company to repair a leak under my floor tiles. I was impressed with quality, knowledge, cleanliness and professionalism. So when it came time to replace my furnace and install new air conditioning, I never looked anywhere else or got any other bids. Very impressed and have told many people about them. Love that it's a woman-owned business too.

The tech ,Bernard Bonner, was patient and kind and explained his findings and the necessary work clearly. As I am 79 yrs old I appreciate being treated respectfully and as if I still have a brain. He was great. He estimated the cost and finished quickly and neatly. It was a good experience and I would use Anderson again without hesitation.

The answering service was courteous and tried to be helpful. The technician was calm but I am suspicious of his excuses since he never called me back the first two times. I can't remember if I've ever spoken to the owner or not, but I vaguely remember someone who was professional and trying to get me service right away.
Description of Work: To make sure I have the right company, it is the one where the ad shows a picture of a female and next to it is her name, Mary Jean Anderson. I called for emergency service, their ad says they do that, and the answering service said they would contact their technician, Omar. No one called me back. I called the answering service a second time and they said that he must have fallen asleep and they would call again. I waited. Again, no one called me back. I called the answering service a third time and they patched me through to him. He told me that although I was a repeat customer, if they had not installed something, I did not qualify as a repeat customer or for emergency service. I told him that doesn't help me solve my problem and why didn't one of them at least call me back? He said he had been on other emergency service calls until after midnight. I told him I'm sorry for his having to work that late but that doesn't help me. I told him I don't like getting the brush off and not at least getting a call back. Then I reported him to the answering service.

Thank you Angie’s List for allowing both sides to each situation and we thank you [Member name removed] for acknowledging one of the employees here who attempted to assist you in a professional manner. We are sorry you had this experience as we do work very hard to provide quality service to each and every one of our valued customers. It is true, we offer after hour’s emergency services and use an answering service after a specific time. Our technicians are familiar with the process of being available after hours and providing emergency services based on need and availability. These past weeks we have had record heat temperatures and the HVAC technicians have been authorized to assess and triage calls that come in (in one weekend alone our answering service received requests for approximately 100 calls for air conditioning services). This particular day the technician had worked all day and was still working on emergency calls well past midnight. As stated here, he did receive several calls from the answering service between near the approximate hour of 2:45am and 3:30am. He also acknowledges falling back asleep after receiving these two calls. At approximately 3:45am he did speak to you and he was of the understanding the system was currently working (though it had experienced problems earlier). His understanding was that the line felt cold and had been functioning but was working at the time of the call. He has apologized for falling asleep, and I am under the impression hopefully, that he apologized to you as well. The technician states that he did his best to explain that at this hour of the morning; it would need to be an emergency situation for him to respond and that this particular situation would be referred to the office the next morning so contact could be made for service when the office opened up. I apologize if he did not communicate well or if we misunderstood the situation. Under normal conditions, it is highly unlikely that the technician would have fallen asleep and at least returned your calls in a timelier manner. Again, these past few weeks we have experienced record high temperatures resulting in our technicians working extremely long hours in the attempt to provide service to our customers. We do offer after hours and weekend appointments as well as we realize our customers are not always available during regular business hours. We of course expect our technicians to respond within a reasonable time to the answering service and our customers. I do believe this was more of an anomaly and was due to the unique heat wave that hit San Diego. I am very sorry that we were not able to provide you with after hour’s service and thereby created disappointment and unnecessary frustration.

Great! Anderson Plumbing definitely made me smile today. Shower was out of commission and definitely desired to have ffixed ASAP. Called one company locally off Angie's, but they couldn't have someone out till Monday. Called Anderson and was able to get service today! Dave Grollman arrived right on schedule and knew right away what to do after I told him what my problem was. Got the proper tools and relived the problem in no time. Dave was very professional and explained every step of the way. He easily accomplished what I couldn't do last night after 3 hours of aggravation and $30 of new tools from hardware store. Definitely will call on them again for my next difficulty plumbing adventure!

Called these guys to install a widespread faucet. Very responsive and professional over the phone. When the guy showed up, he quoted me over $982. When I gasped at the price, he had mistakenly thought I wanted the vanity installed too. I told him that i wanted just the faucet hooked up. After clearing that up, he quoted me $551 to install the faucet. I supplied all of the parts, down to the water lines. We agreed not to move forward and he says it will be $42 for coming out. Ridiculous amount of money for doing nothing more than giving me a ridiculous quote. This company works by the job, not by the hour. No actual work performed but I would not use them in the future.

On 8/1/15 at 4:30p, an elderly neighbor asked for help with her blocked drain. We called Anderson Plumbing because they are located in the same city and listed their hours listed on Angie's List as 7a-7p Mon-Sun. The person who answered said the office closed at 3pm and the only thing she could do was book an appointment for Monday. We did not book an appointment and called another company that provided service to our neighbor within an hour. My complaint is that their Angie's List posting is somewhat misleading. After the disappointing call to Anderson, I checked Anderson's own web site and discovered they have a 24/7 emergency service link posted on their website that directs customers to another company. So it's pretty clear they are either not able or interested in assisting customers with emergency situations, even during their stated hours of operation. Their Angie's List post should reflect their actual office hours and include an advisory that they direct emergency plumbing issues to another company.

We would like to take this opportunity Angie’s List has provided us to respond to this review and provide clarification to our customers or potential customers. This is one of those reviews that is missing some very important information that we feel is a misunderstanding of the dynamics of our company. The hours listed on Angie’s List are correct. We schedule appointments 7 days a week with available appointment timeframes that vary between the hours of 7am-7pm. Each day and time frame has an allotted amount of spots for routine or emergency calls. Once this limit has been met we offer after hours appointments by our very own technicians who are on call through the night and into the next morning. Our office is fully staffed with over 40 office personal Monday through Friday. However we run a skeleton crew on Saturday and Sunday. We have a live answering service who answers all our phones once the office has closed. They have the capability of paging the on call technician in the event of an emergency. In the 25 years we have been working with our answering service, they are well trained to provide our customers with a couple options. The first option is to send the customer’s information to the on call Technician. In the event of a true emergency most people go with this option. The second is to take the caller’s information and forward a message to the office in which we respond first thing the next morning. Our answering service cannot book appointments, they can only send messages to our office and as stated a Customer Service Representative from our office will call the next morning and book the appointment. We do provide true 24 hour service 7 days a week, we respond quickly to our customers and do not field out our calls to another company. I would also like to make sure our readers understand our website has an emergency phone number listed in several places which if called will direct the caller to a live person who can assist them, especially in the event of an emergency. In no way does our website direct traffic to another company. From what this Angie’s List customer is stating it sounds like they did speak with our answering service. We are unsure where the lines of communication got crossed and encourage this reviewer to reach out to us so we can find out. Our first instinct is to reach out on our end but unfortunately we were left with no information to do so. We would like to learn if it was a failure on our end to properly explain how our services work. We do apologize for whatever misunderstanding or confusion occurred and can appreciate this Angie’s List customer looking out for their elderly neighbor and saw to their needs that day.

They were very quick and flexible with their scheduling, and came out during a convenient time. Ricardo was the drain inspector, and was very professional and friendly the whole time. He was very friendly and good with my pets as well. The video inspection of the main line did not take a long time at all, and we spent a good amount of time looking into a smell that I have noticed in the wall. He offered a theory on what he thinks the caused the problem, and offered a very easy fix to the situation. It was overall a very good and educational experience, and I am very happy with the results. I wish that the price for the video inspection didn't cost so much, and I was hoping to get more than the main line. However, I did end the appointment with more knowledge on my home's plumbing lines and lessened my worries.
