Accurate Irrigation and Lighting Service

Having used Tom before and been very happy with his work, we asked him to help us out with our new succulent, low water garden. He was so knowledgeable about the best drip system to use and made simple suggestions that will be such a help for the future (photographing the drip lines before we mulch so we can easily locate them in the future, for example). Each plant has it's own circle of drip pipe around it with the ability to expand as they grow bigger. He also capped off the old spray heads and installed a part to reduce the water pressure. Tom is the man for the job - so professional ad knowledgeable about the wisest approach to each step of the process. he would call the day before to tell us what time he would arrive and exactly what he hoped to achieve each day and was always on time. I am so pleased with the results and how much water I will be saving now. On top of all this, Tom is a friendly guy who is a pleasure to work with.

Tom sized up the problem very quickly and discovered the impact on the valve box where we couldn't figure out why some sprinklers were not sprinkling well over the covered area. Tom pointed out that the parts expense was relatively small, but considerable labor in digging up the valves and associated riser piping and relocating them would be labor intensive. Tom did an excellent and efficient job to get the best results at the end. He offered to come back the next day after the work to ensure the results were working properly - and did so to arrive at this accurate sizing up of his own work.

Tom is very professional and is diligent about communication. He checks his messages regularly and returns phone calls promptly. Once we agreed upon a time to determine the problem, he came out to rake a look at the irrigation valves.There was a leak and water was everywhere in the front planter box.He suggested that a plumber come out and replace a water valve which was not functioning. He told me exactly what to tell the plumber. After that he valve was repaired, Tom returned to assess and repair. His prices are reasonable and he is very experienced. He explained everything he planned to do, and was able to problem solve efficiently. He ended up having to replace some valves, solenoids etc. He will return in a week to follow up with the system to make sure all is functioning well. I have future irrigation and lighting plans, and I will definitely be calling Tom for the job.

.Due to excellent reviews on Angies list, I gave Tom a call. He was very timely with calling me back and setting up an appointment. I had several area with my irrigation which weren't working properly. The first time he came by he methodically went through my entire system. He found the problem areas and repaired them. I also wanted some help with my lighting. He was very helpful in this area too and added a few to areas I felt were missed in the initial landscape process. Not only is Tom fantastic with the services he provided but he's also very customer oriented and calls the night before to confirm. I wish all businesses would operate in the professional manner that Tom does!! Thanks for a great job!

Tom has been taking care of my irrigation for several years now and has been great! I have a lot of valuable plants and I honestly think he cares about them as much as I do. He's even willing to check up on the system when we're out of town when he's worried about things working properly. He's always punctual, gives reasonable quotes, works fast and knows the best way to set up the system for the particular space. I recommend him highly!

Tom kept me up to date on the day and time he was coming. We discussed what could be causing the problem since it wasn't the valve . At first he was going to dig up and replace all the sprinkler bodies...but he knew that would be4 expensive and take time what with the birch tree roots all over the yard. So he suggested leaving the body in place and just replacing the inside parts and new sprinkler heads. Most of the sprinklers pop up now but some not fully near the birch tree. There still seems to be a water pressure issue that may have something to do with the tree roots, but there isn't a wet area to indicate a broken pipe. Tom said to call if there were still problems. The sprinkler heads need some adjusting so when he comes back we may continue brainstorming as to what could be the pressure problem. There is no charge for the adjustments. He wants customer satisfaction. He and his son were easy to talk to, considered my suggestions and patiently answered my questions.

From the moment I called Tom to the moment he completed his work, he was professional, knowledgable, courteous and patient. He arrived last week to assess the yard and system and we made an appointment for him to come back to complete the work. He called the day before to confirm his time frame and arrived exactly as promised. My wife was home with my sick child, and he made sure to explain to my wife what he was doing and called me as well. He did find an area with excessive wet dirt, so he inspected it further, removed the water and clearly explained to us how we should monitor the area. He offered to return in a few days to personally inspect the potential problem area. I cannot recommend Tom enough to any potential customers. I know I will refer him to any of my friends. Jay

Returned call within minutes. Extremely professional. Unable to provide exact time for appointment, but agreed to contact me the day before, which was just fine with me. I subsequently opted to use the services of another contractor and left a message to cancel the appointment. He called back and said to please consider him again in the future for either or both irrigation and lighting needs and he wished me the best with our recovery from the fire. How nice is that? Definitely will consider him for future needs and recommend to family and friends.

Tom was the best. There is a reason he has good reviews on Angie's List! He has a good book of business going but is really good about fitting you in ASAP to visit and see what needs to be done. He then scheduled the a time to come back and do the work once he had an assessment and knew what parts he needed to get. I had conflicts in my schedule so we scheduled something about 2 weeks later. And we turned off the system in the mean time so I wouldn't waste water. Day of appointment - he called and verified day before - he came on time - got the work done in a really efficient manner and I was 100% pleased with the "fix ups" he did. He took me around and showed me the improvements and it was obvious he knew a good amount about plants. Overall he had commented that my landscaping all looked good so there weren't any obvious missed spots - mostly what he did was put in higher posts to allow the system to work more efficiently. We had discussed ahead of time and he had brought a handful of these parts which were inexpensive. He told me he does not mark up parts and only charges actual cost. I felt 100% comfortable giving him a free hand to do what he felt was needed to make the most of the current irrigation system. You can tell that Tom is a person that treats every job as he were doing it for his own house - do a good job and don't waste money or do things that aren't needed. I would 100% use Accurate Irrigation and Lighting Service again - and actually plan to when I do some backyard improvements in the next year.

When I put a shovel through a section of irrigation PVC pipe trying to plant a jasmine vine, I checked Angie's List and on the strength of the recommendations called Tom asking for service either that afternoon or the following morning. When he called back, he said he could make it the following morning and asked lots of good questions indicating he was planning to hit the ground running. When he was running a little late the following morning, he called me to let me know, showed up, and in 20 minutes had the repair made. He called me that evening to remind me to let him know if there were any problems (there weren't). So--fast, thoughtful service at a fair price.

Tom really came to my rescue. I had a sprinkler valve go, and the only way to stop the flood was to turn off the water as it came in from the street, meaning we had no water in the house at all. I called Tom in the morning, and he made a special trip out that afternoon to stop the leak, and then the next day to complete the repair. Tom's responsiveness, combined with his quality workmanship, are the reasons he'll be the one I call any time I need help with any lawn irrigation needs. I can't recommend him highly enough.

They were prompt and had some good recommendations about our sprinkler system. I ended up fixing the other issue myself. But, I am happy that they caught the other problem as well.

Neighbor's gardening crew rolled a wheelbarrow over our adjoining sprinkler head, shearing it off at ground level. We marked the spot with construction flagging, and Tom of Accurate Irrigation agreed to come out. He arrived exactly when he said he would, replaced the sprinkler head, and restored the sprinkler system to service.

Tom Jara is one heck of a nice guy in addition to being extremely knowledgeable about all things irrigation and lighting. The missing valve was buriedo a foot down under a flagstone patio, so it took awhile to find it. My gardeners had been looking for it for a month without success. Tom is very honest and concerned about saving money by doing things in the most expedient manner He explained all of the options to me prior to performing the work. From now on I will always call Tom for irrigation issues. The lighting now works great and all corroded "guts" have been replaced.

Tom and helper Chelsea arrived on time and ready to work. After excavating the lines where leaks were suspected, the lines were capped off and tapped to drive a low-pressure emitter network in the garden to replace a high-pressure aging sprinkler network. Excavation was not easy, as tree roots complicated the dig, and added another layer of complexity on how to run the replacement lines. The remainder of the higher-pressure lawn network was provided with some new pop-up sprinkler heads which provided more efficient and more accurately directed irrigation. A large sprinkler head at one end of the garden which had been a frequent victim of bumpings and trippings was replaced with a pop-up head, which actually works better. Tom and Chelsea replaced the dirt in the excavations as the work wrapped up, and even replaced sod on top of the diggings. The yard was in great shape when they finished.

My front and back yard lights were not all working because they were not hard wired initially or had wiring damage. Tom corrected all and they are all working now.

Tom showed up on time to estimate the work and was very thorough in his explanation of what needed to be done. He then showed up on time to do the work, which he accomplished quickly and neatly. His price was very fair. I would not hesitate to use him again or to recommend him to others.

Tom did an excellent job. After he was done we decided we need the bigger model and he replaced it free of charge except for the minor difference in cost of the units (his cost).
