They were not responsive. It took forever for them to get to return my phone call in the first place. He finally called back and came out for an appointment. He was supposed to get back to me with an estimate, but I never heard from him. I called repeatedly, but no one ever returned my call.

Advance solutions completed my Kitchen remodel (refer to report submitted November 18, 2011). I was anticipating painting some of the interior of my home and had discussed some color options with Ray Foster. Due to the upcoming Christmas holiday and other budget constraints, I was planning on doing the painting myself. During my discussion with Ray, he made me an offer that was difficult to refuse. He offered to use his best painter to paint my living room, family room, dining room, entry way and hallways, including all ceilings, for $1500.00 plus the cost of the paint and supplies (total of $2100). Since I was very pleased with the kitchen remodel project and the quality of Ray's painter, I had enough sense to know there was no way that I could do the job myself, at the same level of quality, and complete it before the Christmas holidays. Due to my schedule, I could not commit to a start date until some time in December, but he assured me that the job would be completed before December 15th. The painter came in on December 5th and completed the project in only three days. He did all of the necessary repair work on the walls, and masked off areas prior to painting. The ceiling was painted a semi-gloss white and the walls were painted a semi-gloss baked brie. Both paints were the ultra premium quality Behr paint. The painter worked very efficiently and was very neat. He cleaned up on a daily basis so we could continue to function in the household. There was plenty of paint leftover at the end so Ray had his painter come back the following week to paint my laundry room and the main bathroom. I was very happy to have virtually all of the interior of my home painted. Needless to say the project was beautiful. I had family come in for the Christmas holiday from out of town. They were all very impressed with both the Kitchen remodel project and the interior paint project. I would highly recommend Ray Foster and Advance Solutions to anyone who is interested in having quality work done in their home by a professional, friendly, and neat staff for a very fair price.

I had several contracters come out to quote remodeling the kitchen and master bath in my newly purchased home. As an after thought I checked Angie’s list one more time and found Advance Solutions, I somehow had missed them. Ray came out to meet me and offered to walk me around Arizona Tile to discuss what I should look for in materials when working with any contractor. I took him up on his offer and found that he has a strong design background that really helps someone like me that could use someone to hold their hands while trying to get the materials to match and complement each other. While of course this was a good sales pitch, it does build the confidence that someone needs when selecting a contractor. Ray also only quotes the labor involved in the job. Materials will be purchased by yourself, but he does help you get contractor prices. (price above was complete job with materials and applicances). I wasn’t sure what to think about this at first, but this really is the way to go if you want to know exactly what you’re paying. Other contractors give you an allowance, so you never know the true cost of the materials. Anyway, the job turned out great. The most impressive part about his team was that no matter how messy a job might have been, they always cleaned up after themselves. This was even more impressive since I held off moving into the house until the job was done, and they could have just as easily left the messy for the next day’s work. The only issue I could recommend is being sure that you know exactly how the materials are going to be used and how edges will be handled. These are questions that you must ask while purchasing the materials. Ask if the edges of the tiles with need trim piece or will they be covered another way? Its small details like this that will help prevent having to go back to make changes. Ray was willing to make any changes; it’s just one of those items that unless you ask, something might get missed.
Description of Work: Remodeled kitchen with granite on all countertops (including a large island), tiled backsplash with decorative tile section over the range-top. New appliances were also installed. Master bath shower and separate tub were retiled, and all three baths also had the countertops replaced with granite.
Over a month long period I had contacted numerous granite vendors and cabinet makers to obtain estimates. I conducted background checks, read reviews, checked referrals and contractors' licenses. I was still undecided as to my selection, but went to select the granite slabs at Arizona Tile. Advance Solutions had a booth set up in the parking lot of the vendor to advertise their services and provide complimentary tacos and gifts. We contacted Ray Foster who provided advice on the selection of granite and backsplash. My first impression of Ray was he was knowledgeable, extremely respectful and professional. I contacted Ray's assistant to schedule a meeting at my house to obtain an estimate. Ray arrived at my home in the High Desert and spent over an hour with me to discuss options. He e-mailed an estimate which was at the high end of all the estimates I had received. I checked Advance Solutions referrals, complaints and contractor's license which they passed. Ray came back to the house to take me to Home Depot and Lowes to look at pre-fab cabinet boxes in an attempt to reduce expenses. Ray spent over two hours with me as we discussed ideas and further options. I met with Ray one more time as we continued to discuss ideas. At this point Ray had spent 8 hours with me and I still had not hired him yet. Ray was extremely patient, professional and had great ideas. Based on my experience with him and the fact that he would be able to do all of the work I needed instead of having to deal with multiple contractors, I decided to hire Advance Solutions. My final contract price was almost twice the original estimate amount, but much more extensive and included some custom cabinets. The work started on 10/17/11 with demolition of the tile counterfort and removal of the cabinets. The cabinets were stripped, sanded, restained, and finished. The work continued daily at the house with the exception of cabinet building and staining/finishing at the workshop. There were some issues which arose along the way. The cabinet stain sample was misplaced and we could not confirm the color. I gave the approval to add another coat, but then it appeared to be darker with an orange tint. The stain sample was located and it did not match the cabinets. Work was halted that day and removing all of the stain from the cabinets was offered by Ray and his cabinet stainer. The next day, the top of one cabinet box was stripped and restained, then all of the cabinets were completed in a satin finish. The look was much better than the color we originally chose. The behind the range glass tile that was ordered was out of stock and not available for 6 weeks. We met with Ray again to select a mosaic tile. We then realized our desire for a framed area behind the range would not fit because of the short vertical height. We then changed the design to a horizontal accent strip along the entire backsplash with an antique white pencil border around the backsplash. The pencil border was too thick and had to be recut. An electrical outlet box had to be repositioned to be in proper horizontal alignment with the mosaic tile accent line. Any major remodeling project will have issues come up along the way. My wife and I had a tendency to be perfectionists, especially with our first major kitchen renovation in 19 years, but Ray and his staff were very patient and worked diligently to resolve the issues to our COMPLETE SATISFACTION. The final completion date was later than expected, but I told Ray all along, "I was not in a hurry and would rather wait to have the project completed as expected." The completed project looks absolutely beautiful. We love the granite, backsplash, new cabinet doors/boxes, and color of the cabinets. The under cabinet xenon lights highlight the backsplash and granite countertops beautifully. The color of the kitchen walls match our decor perfectly. Ray Foster is a top notch designer and is a perfectionist. He is passionate about his job and the quality of work he expects from his staff is as if it were his own home being remodeled. My first impression of Ray as knowledgeable, respectful and professional was spot on. He has a very low key demeanor, which enhances his ability to deal with the stressful world of home remodeling. I have already agreed with Ray to have Advance Solutions paint the interior of my home next month. With all of the expenditures, we may not be able to buy any Christmas presents, but we will have the best looking home in the neighborhood! I would highly recommend Ray and Advance Solutions to anyone who is interested in a top notch, quality, home remodel project.
Description of Work: Kitchen Remodel Project included new granite counter tops with natural stone back splash and mosaic tile accent, new stainless steel sink, garbage disposal and electronic faucet, partial demolition of cabinets including removal of 24" wall oven and microwave oven, and build 4 new cabinet boxes with draws and 4 pull-out shelves to accommodate new gas convection oven/range and over the range microwave / vented hood. Complete refinish of kitchen cabinets, which included stripping of old lacquer and stain, new cabinets doors with hidden self-closing hinges, new stain and satin finish, installation of under cabinet xenon lights, new ceiling lights panels and painting of entire kitchen walls and ceiling. Replace all electrical outlets, switches, and plates.
The first meeting my husband and I had with Ray went very well. He was very knowledgeable about remodeling our kitchen and bathrooms. As this is our first remodeling project, he gave us insight into how other contractors would bid. When we met with other contractors, 90% of what they said was true to Ray's warning. Advance Solutions bid came in slightly under our budget and we felt at ease and confident with Ray. Our second meeting was a design session. Collaborating with Ray was easy and he never pushed his ideas over our own. My husband and I were able to describe our vision for our remodel to Ray and he was able to give us a variety of materials to choose from. We were able to save $$$$ because Ray let us use his contractor's discount. We were able to see the savings from his suppliers who were able to show us retail prices versus the contractor's price. When the projects began Advance Solutions was always on-time. Their workers were polite, respectful, knowledgeable, and very clean. When mold was found because of an unknown slow leak under the kitchen sink, it was immediately brought to our attention. They were able to fix the leak and sealed the kitchen so they could begin removing the mold from the kitchen. The workers always wore protective clothing and masks, and our safety was their main concern. Since I was home during the remodeling, they were able to explain the steps they were taking and had me away from the kitchen as much as possible. They completely removed all of the mold and cleaned the entire kitchen before any remodeling started. They completed our projects in a timely manner and lived up to everything they said they would do. Several of our neighbors even came by during the remodel and have contacted Ray and his team for upcoming projects. I will definitely used Advance Solutions for any future remodeling projects and would recommend them to my family and friends.
Description of Work: We remodeled our kitchen, guest bathroom, and master bathroom. Advance Solutions removed and replaced all of the counter tops, vanities, flooring, surrounding tile, tub, put in Craft Made cabinets, and installed new appliances. Advance Solutions also found a slow leak under the kitchen sink where mold had grown. This was the first priority before any of the remodeling.
Design assistance and structural recommendations were provided by Ray Foster. He met me at the Tile company and Home Depot to purchase building supplies and was helpful but accepting of my personal choices. All supplies and building materials were delivered to my home by Advance Solutions. The contractor's crew were all respectful and very accommodating. Cleanup was done on a daily basis during the entire project. The crew always ensured that all work areas were left clean and orderly. Once the project was completed, all debris, paint, paste, etc., were cleaned up and removed. All excess supplies or building materials were returned and a prompt credit was provided. The design of the tile is a work of art. The best part, it's actually in my bathrooms and kitchen. All of the crew were experienced and very skilled. I plan to use this company in the future and have already referred them to other friends and relatives.
Description of Work: I initially requested an estimate from Advance Solutions for remodel of my bathrooms and re-tiling of my kitchen floor. Removal of acoustic ceiling and the addition of crown molding were later completed.
I have to start by saying that Ray is absolutely fantastic to work with. If you are looking for someone who cares about the quality of their work to every detail, then look no further. We first met Ray for an estimate, and he came out and immediately gave us some good ideas. His quote was better than some of the other ones I had obtained. We then signed a contract detailing all of the work that was to be done. Ray then met us at the various places to buy the materials: fixtures, tile, granite, and vanities. Ray is a designer and it showed as we were putting the pieces together. He has a great eye and was able to pick out items that fit well at a lower price point as he wanted to make sure we kept within our budget. On top of this, he was able to get us a contractor?s discount which also helped. I want to emphasize again that every step of the way he would focus on the budget so we would be satisfied with the cost. One other thing that is important to mention is that my wife and I both work, so Ray and his assistant, Alvina, were always able to accommodate our schedules even though we had to meet in the evenings and on weekends. As the project started, there were some things that had to be addressed (no crawl space for the wiring, problems with the existing plumbing, lights had no place to be mounted) because of the current bathroom. However, Ray was able to come up with reasonable solutions and did not charge us for a lot of the extra work they did (such as retexturing the walls or re-routing the plumbing). His crew was professional, worked hard, and did a good job keeping things clean. Everything looked great at the end of the job, and he walked through it with us to make sure we were completely satisfied. Ray is not only an excellent contractor and designer, he is a really nice guy. Advance Solutions does quality work and truly cares about their customers. Will I use them again? Absolutely.
Description of Work: Full remodel of the bathroom. Everything was demoed. We had new fixtures, lights, granite countertops, bathtub, toilets, vanities, and sinks installed. They tiled the shower walls and the floor and also retextured and painted the room.
Fantastic company. Very professional. They do not subcontract so all of the people work for Advance Solution. Never left a mess. If there was a problem we never had to deal with it, Ray took care of everything. We highly recommend Ray Foster and Advance Solution co. We will use them again.
Description of Work: Granite counters, tile floors, refinished cabinets, Helped us with ideas and getting discounts for fixtures, appliances, and furniture. Ray met us at the tile company, granite company and furniture store to give his input.
This was our first remodel project in our 17 year old house. We wanted to start on our master bathroom because of suspicions that there might be a water leak stemming from the shower. After researching on Angie's list I interviewed 5 bathroom/kitchen remodel companies. Advance Solutions was the 1st company I interviewed and I was impressed with Ray's highly professional and personable manner. The biggest seller that distinguished his company from the others is that Ray had a design background and was willing to go with me to each tile/facet/bathroom/cabinet reseller and help me make design decisions for our bathroom. No other company was willing to do this and since my husband and I were a little shaky on bathroom design and needed a bit of hand holding, this was a key factor in our decision making. The crew arrived right on time to start the job and continued to be timely throughout the entire bathroom remodel. The 2nd day in, we unfortunately found a water leak and had to put the remodel on hold until we could completely assess the damage. Luckily Ray's crew could repair the leak and after a bit of time and extra cost we continued on with the remodel. The rest ran fairly smoothly with the few normal bumps all projects run into. In our case, one of the bumps was the wall faucet mounts. They needed to be placed right where the wall beams stood. With a bit of tweaking the faucets are now centered nicely over the sinks. I found Ray and his crew to be generous with their time in answering question and phone calls. They were willing to make design changes, and even seemed to expect them, and were willing to redo work so I would be completely satisfied with the result. On a couple of occasions Ray even went out of his way to stop by after hours to answer questions or issues I had. We had an initial budget in mind and Advanced Solutions worked with this figure. Eventually this was exceeded, but this was due to the materials we chose (and the unexpected water damage repair) but there were no surprises as we were kept informed each step of the way. I was very happy with the end result and would use Advance Solutions again.
Description of Work: Full master bath remodel; new wall tile and border, new floor tile, granite vanity top, new wall mounted faucets, new tub with tile step, new tile shower with pebble base, lighting, mirror medicine cabinet installation, new toilet, painting. Quote of labor, $6,000 plus materials - wall mounted faucets were added later at an additional labor cost of $250. Also done - water damage repair consisting of new drain piping for bath and shower installed under foundation, concrete tear out and repair, new moister barrier paper installed at the foundation level on the outside wall of the bathroom and ditch dig out and repair. Total cost of water repair, $5,500. The remaining costs were for materials.

They said they could do granite counters and remove the greenhouse window. They also said they would repaint the whole kitchen for me. The initial over the phone estimate was $5000 and then they raised it to $6200 when they came out to take measurements. I will not be using them because their price is much higher than anywhere else.

Response from Advance Solutions Co
In our initial phone conversation Member stated that her budget is $5000 for granite countertops including the granite. Ray’s exact words to her over the phone were ”‘I’ll try to keep our price around your budget as close as I can.” When Ray came out to do measurements, Member stated that she wanted granite countertops, a full backslash, and a pony wall to raise her countertops to make a bar area. She also wanted to lower one of her cabinets that has a butcher block on it that her husband installed incorrectly, and she wanted a garden bay window removed, and a new window installed. She stated to Ray that Costco can do all that work for $3300. Our original estimate was about $7100.00. Because Member is a senior, and she said she was on a fixed income, we thought we would help her out by deducting $1,000 for all this job. If you price the materials for 2 slabs of granite, a tile backsplash, wood dry wall, and a new window, the materials would run right around the $4,000-5,000 mark. If anyone ever remodeled a kitchen, they would say our price is beyond fair. If you were to find someone to do all that work including the materials for $3,300, you would be more then skeptical of that person or company.

Overall, while Ray was talking about his quality and reputation all the time, he did not stand behind his promises.
Description of Work: I am sorry to spoil a perfect record for Advance Solutions Co. Ray Foster impressed our family during his first visit by speaking softly, sounding knowledgeable about remodeling and promising a pretty comparable pricing, etc. We did not even mind that he came an hour early in the morning, when we had just woken up. Then, a few days later, he came again with his designer and a counter-top guy and spent 2 more hours going through all details and confirming what we had previously discussed. Everything looked so good. He promised us a quote in about 3-5 days. Then, I called him a week later and asked if I should have ordered the appliances. He said: "Go ahead", so I did. He promised me a quote any minute. We send him a photo from one of the magazines showing the cabinet color we liked. Then, the bad part started. The quote did not come in a week or two weeks. I called him. He said, he was driving to the office and would call me in one hour. Nope. I called again in two days - nope, not ready yet, but coming up. Then a week later, after some chasing he passed me to his office lady, who really tried to help. She called next day and said that Ray had so many orders that he was too busy to quote and do our job (and it's not a small job - full kitchen+bathroom+some extras). Our conclusion is that while Ray is very nice and personable, his responsiveness and punctuality are terrible. We lost ~5 hrs on meetings, then did not sign up another vendor for a while, lost a lot of time chasing, etc.

Our first initial appointment was scheduled for between the hours of 10a and 11am. We arrived at 10:05am. The member is absolutely right, our first meeting went very well. From the first meeting, the thing that had us a little skeptical was that the member continued to insist that we remove a load-baring wall, and the member kept insisting that other contractors have been up there and have said that they can remove the wall. But when Ray told him that he would feel more comfortable going down to the city to check all plans of the house, the member informed Ray that the city did not have plans to his house. Ray thought about it, and just let it pass- even though that should of been a red flag. Then the second meeting was scheduled for designers to come out and start the design process of the member's bathroom and kitchen. At the time of the second meeting/design session, the member started to insist that we remove the load-baring wall, and continued to insist that the load-baring wall becomes removed. So Ray got onto a ladder to take a peak inside the attic where the member said that other contractors have climbed inside. When Ray took a peak inside the attic, he noticed there was a huge furnace in crawl space. Then it clicked in Ray's head that the member was not telling the truth about other contractors going into the attic. The space was so small that a small child would not be able to fit. So at this time Ray became very skeptical of what the member's plans and thoughts were, and the ethics of the member. Ray started to insist that he needed to get the plans and permits for this job. The member was against getting permits for this type of work, and refused to let us get permits. Ray told the member over and over that permits would have to be pulled for this job. The member told Ray many times that he didn't want to work with permits. At this time, Ray had to make an executive decision to let this job pass us by. To any consumers out there, we would like you to make your own judgment. Do you want to have a company put your family's life in jeopardy just to make a few dollars? Or do you want a company that will insure the safety of you and your family, and make sure everything is done professionally and ethically. The member's job was worth $75,000. But we walked away from it. For a company to walk away from this $75,000 says a lot about a company and their ethics. We are not willing to jeopardize the safety of your family, the quality of our work, and our company reputation for no dollar amount of money in the world.
From the beginning, Ray was professional, knowledgeable and he and his employees were very courteous. Ray took the time to explain in detail the materials available, the best way to use them and the benefits and disadvantages to us. They were concerned about whether we liked what they were doing, and the foreman would take care of anything that we needed. There weren't just a bunch of strange people in and out and they worked around us so that we weren't? too inconvenienced. They did an excellent job. We had a bridal shower three days after they finished and my guests couldn't believe it was the same house. They are not the cheapest but they aren't the most expensive either. They worked to get us the best quality for the dollars that we were working with. I don?t think we could have gotten this sort of work from anyone else that we spoke to. We gave them free range in a lot of things and they were willing to work with us and keep things at a good cost. I would definitely call them for another project. We developed a sense of trust and open dialog. Ray and his company made the transition of changing our house a very smooth process.
Description of Work: Advance Solutions gutted the kitchen, removed old flooring, installed new kitchen cabinets, put new appliances in, installed backsplash and granite countertops, installed track lighting, installed a brand new window in the kitchen and dining room, put in a new patio door, installed new travertine flooring through the den and hallways, refaced the fireplace with veneer stone and installed new base boards throughout the house. They also painted all of those rooms.

They charged $5600 for labor plus materials. The material came to about $2700. They did an excellent job. I liked the attentiveness of the owner. He was transparent with what was going on. He returned phone calls and was easily accessible. The workers were timely, professional, and clean. They did a very quality job. I am very very happy. Everything went very well. I didn’t have any complaints with this company. They were here when they said they were going to be, and they are a very clean company. They always cleaned up after themselves after each day, and I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.
Description of Work: They came out to install new vinyl windows, remodeled our kitchen, bathroom, and flooring. They also hung new doors and installed a patio. They also installed a new roof on our patio enclosure.
Advanced Solutions came out to give us an estimate, we worked with Ray. Ray was very professional & was very helpful in giving my wife & I some excellent ideas. He came back a couple days later after our initial visit with him to give us an estimate. He explained everything in detail & was able to work within our budget. The work was professionally done & were on time everyday. The workers treated our house like it was their own. We never had to worry about coming home to a dirty house. They cleaned everyday after they were done for the day. We had heard other stories from our friends about some of their remodeling nightmares. We are so glad we went with Advance Solutions for our remodeling & we would recommend them to anyone. It was just a great experience. We would definitely use them again for any future work.

My experience with Advanced Solutions was excellent from start to finish. They were easy to work with, paid attention to detail and were very clean and courteous at all times. The work was done on time and my bathroom looks better than I imagined. I highly recommend Advanced Solutions and will use them again.
Description of Work: Advanced Solutions did a complete demolition and remodel of my bathroom, installing travertine tile on the floors and tub surround, installed a granite countertop, did plumbing, painting, refinishing and rebuilt and installed all other components. This was a complete bathroom remodel and they did everything themselves, they did not subcontract out pieces of the work. Advanced Solutions helped with the design, personally accompanied us to to pick out the tile and granite and even passed on their contractors discount to us when we purchased these items.

I really liked how involved the contractor was! He helped us lay everything out according to our needs. We picked out the materials and if we didn't like anything he would change it immediately. All of his workers were here early each day and worked very hard. Everything we asked for he would help us out with. His workers did a great job and we are not disappointed at all. I would recommend them to anyone!
Description of Work: They came out to remodel our 3 bathrooms and laundry room.

They put in new cabinets, counters, and flooring in both. They did an awesome job. I have never had an experience like this. They were very prompt and concise. They came in, were very clean, finished the project on time, and left both looking amazing.
Description of Work: They did a kitchen and bath remodel for me.
