Scott Hayes came by on the day scheduled. His written estimate was at the wrong address on Wagstaff Road instead of Diamond Ave., where the house is located. He also misspelled my last name. His "estimate" went into absolutely NO detail as to what services he was going to provide for $1900.00! I quote him here: "pressure wash - scrape/caulk - prime 1 coat - paint 1 coat - $1900". He did acknowledge that I was to furnish the Paint / Primer, however. The estimate was unsigned. I was not impressed with his ability to write an estimate, which reflects upon his future work performed.

Recently, I bought a fixer upper,summer of 2009.Prior to the work Scott did on my house, I had another local contractor that did several projects for me....roof, dry rot repair, sub flooring etc. The first contractor worked for 4 hours a day, communication was difficult, took months to complete work and left unfinished work. After I got the house liveable, I then needed to have the whole house fitted for gutters and the exterior painted. I did not want to work with my prior contractor and I was hesitant to find another contractor because of the previous experience. Scott Hayes, licensed contractor, was reffered to me through a friend of mine. I can't say enough great things . . I am so happy with the experience. He was extremely professional, easy to communicate with, very reliable, he worked very quickly and efficently and always showed up on time. He pressure washed the house, painted several coats in places (the house hadn't been painted for 48 years), painted my new front door and trim, hung shudders, installed gutters for the whole house and finished several uncompleted jobs from my last contractor. I would highly recommend Hayes Construction .
