Warranty Companies - Non-Home
The extended warranty earns a D. My stainless steel Bosch dishwasher started rusting out at about 3 months. Lowe's Extended Service Program claimed it was a cosmetic problem and not covered under the warranty, which is just for mechanical issues. I can understand that if that's the policy, but I spoke to 3-4 people, and without knowing what I used to clean it, they all blamed me for causing the rust. I followed Bosch's instructions for cleaning and Bosch verified that what I used was acceptable. If you search online about this product, you'll find the manufacturer is having issues with the rusting of their stainless steel.
I asked for a refund of the warranty, since I didn't like their attitude of blaming the customer without even having full information. Even though it was less than 4 months, they charged me for 5 months and said I first had to speak with a manager before I could get a refund. I tried to reach a manager but my attempts were unsuccessful. Finally they agreed I'd get a refund in a week or so. That was on January 12. Today (February 4) I got an email saying they finally approved my refund.
It was just really bad. There's a negative attitude with the extended warranty organization. It also just seems like a waste of money. If it was a good warranty, I'd give it an A for price ($109.97 for 5 years), but this isn't worth anything.

The shades are very good and I took advantage of their special installation. It took 2 weeks to get it installed which was really slow but the shades came out very well.
