hardwood floor
 + -1 moreThis was an insurance claim because of plumbing leak. Work began on April 5, 2006, & concluded on May 3, 2006. In 2 more days, on May 5, floor should be dry enough to walk on. That is one full month of repair time! I chose Dublin Carpet because my State Farm uses them as part of their "Premier Service". Also Angie's list had good reports on them. I would rate the first job as an F, the second time around I give them a B- because the hardwood patch is still not flush with the rest of the floor. Also one month with no dining room & our living room also made unusable since it was full of dining room cabinets, buffet, etc. I will, however give Paul a high mark for him honestly & openly admitting that poor work had been performed. Dublin Carpets is a reputable company that, fortunately for me, did stand behind their work. Still I think a smart customer would closely question who is going to do the actual work- & don't pay until the job is completed.
Description of Work: Please read carefully as this was a mixed bag of work. Also see tile floor report. Description: Hardwood dining room floor. Repaired water damaged 3" & 5" boards, sanded, stained, & topcoated with urethane. First a young man named Sean was sent out. He ripped out the damaged boards, put in new boards, sanded, stained, & topcoated with urethane. LOUSY JOB! Rough finish & poor wood patch job. He did not clean between top coats & coated over paint chips, dog hair, etc. Floor felt like 80 grit sandpaper. After Paul from Dublin Carpet inspected this job, he contacted Top Floors & they sent out 2 polite young Mexican guys who tried to repair Sean's job. They hand sanded, buffed, puttied, & put a new top coat of urethane.

 + -1 moreMY EXPERIENCE WITH DUBLIN CARPET WAS GREAT, THEIR INSTALLERS WERE ON TIME, COURTEOUS, AND VERY SKILLED IN THEIR CRAFT. THEY CLEAN UP AFTER, AND THE END RESULT WAS EXCELLENT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DUBLIN CARPETS.
Description of Work: PAUL FROM DUBLIN CARPETS CAME TO OUR HOUSE, AND MEASURED THE FLOOR AREA TO BE CARPETED. HE GAVE US A QUOTE FOR FOUR ROOMS, AND HALL. WE WERE ABLE TO DO ONE ROOM AT A TIME.
