They were courteous, prompt, punctual, and came the same day that I called. They were very co-operative and worked with my handyman. Their pricing was reasonable and the quality of their work was good.

Both visits they sent out very knowledgeable, polite young men. They gave me estimates, good advice on replacing an old handle vs waiting till we remodel the bath, they were fast and clean.

They came out at the time they said and I had no reason to suspect that they wouldn't follow through. They took measurements and said they would give me a quote but they never called. I finally called a few weeks later and they didn't see my name on record.

Our tenant's restroom backed up on a Friday night and we tried clearing it out but were unsuccessful. The next morning I called them thinking it may be too early so I would leave a message on their answering machine, but actually got a person to answer. They immediately relayed my message to one of the employees and was called back within ten minutes. They were at the property at the scheduled time and quickly unloaded their equipment and got right to work. Their work was very thorough and double checked all their work. I would definitely call them again. If you would like to have a good plumber with reasonable prices for the long term, these are your guys. They're the real deal.

I attempted to replace a 15-year-old kitchen wall faucet that was leaking. It had become frozen to the pipes, and in attempting to remove it, I bent the copper pipe that was feeding it, causing a rupture. This was mid-afternoon on a Saturday, so yes -- I had the dreaded weekend plumbing emergency. Angie's list to the rescue! I found Downey Plumbing, and explained the situation to their very pleasant dispatcher. Their workman, Santiago, called me within minutes, and told me he would be at my house within the hour. He explained succinctly what he would do and what it would cost. The repair involved opening the stucco to access the plumbing. He showed me the damage, explained how he would repair it, and proceeded to do so quickly and efficiently. He even handled my, "Oh, by the way, my wife wants you to install our new faucet when you're done" with grace. He tested everything thoroughly, cleaned up meticulously, and, in the end, wrote up a very reasonable fee for a short-notice weekend plumbing repair.

We were very careful when we did a walk-through to make sure we were all talking about when/ where/ what and how much. During the walk-through, the rep (Jeff) pointed out some non-permitted electrical work and warned us that the inspector might not sign off on HIS job until the electrical was fixed. We had to wait a week to schedule, but the crew of 6 showed up on-time (except the site supervisor, who was an hour late) and started work right after I oriented them on what to do. First day I wandered by the several areas of activity every hour or so, but it was clear these guys knew what they were doing and that every person was doing their job. I peeked into their toolboxes and confirmed they were indeed using silver solder not lead (which some plumbers still try to get away with.) From start of work (digging a trench for the main line) to inspection was four days, and the water was off for only about three hours total. Last minute, I asked them to raise a shower head 6 inches (for my tall hubby) and for new faucets in three sinks (which they did for free). Wall patching was complete at end of day 4 except one spot they missed...which they came back and completed day 5. Wall patch was very smooth. Work was very dust-free and they cleaned up every evening. My one quibble was the choice of shower controller on one bathroom - I would have picked a different one.
