Dependable Heating & Air Conditioning

Dependable Heating and Air served as the HVAC contractor for the builder of my home and has provided HVAC annual maintenance and repair services for several years. However, I feel compelled to express my dissatisfaction. During the extremely hot month of July, a critical A/C component failed, revealing that Dependable did not adhere to the builder’s mechanical floor plan and installed a mismatched A/C evaporator and condenser. After independent verification of this issue, I reached out to Dependable management multiple times seeking a satisfactory explanation. Initially, they were dismissive of my concerns, subsequently making several unsubstantiated claims. When I requested credible validation to support their statements, including the purported work order change they claimed to have submitted and had approved by the builder, they refused to provide it. My experience with this matter has been highly disappointing! As a result, I cannot recommend Dependable Heating and Air.

It went fine. They were on time, professional, and I plan to stay with them as-long as I'm alive.

For heating and air conditioning I found the company called Dependable out of Dixon, California. I would highly recommend them. They were excellent in everything. They have excellent service and excellent pricing. I would rate them an 'A' for all of the categories on the grading scale.

It went very well. He didn't come on time, but 10 min late is ok with me. He did all the work and checked and made sure everything was fine. He was friendly and got the job done. Good!

It was just fine. The technician was quick, knowledgeable and he was courteous. I would recommend using them again. If we needed some kind of service on our heating system, I would definitely call them. Their pricing seems reasonable and good for me. He did a good job as far as I can tell.

They showed up on time. Went right to work. Problem getting new air conditioning unit passed my fence. They took down some boards to make opening big enough to pass the air conditioning unit then replaced the boards. They installed a new air inlet and a new outlet vent in my kitchen area which will make it more comfortable when cooking. They leak checked the duck works when done. Checked the pressures on the air conditioning unit. Then cleaned up the house after they finished. They even worked through there lunch break to finish the job in one day. I am now setting in a cool house in comfort. I would recommend Dependable Heating and Air to anyone needing this kind of service.

Saw their ad on the newspaper and said they did free estimates so I thought...why not? These guys were 1 of 4 companies we asked to come by. The pricing was actually the lowest of the 4 major companies. Don did our estimate and took somes notes about issues we wanted solved with and what we planed to do with the house in the near and long term. He offered some ideas that we hadn't thought of that actually brought the price down. We got 3 estimates from him, kind of a lower, middle of the road, and high end super efficient system. My work schedule is pretty crazy and I have ever changing hours. Don was GREAT to work with via email. We ended up going with with the middle system as a balance between cost/return and environmental efficiency. His install team was busy so we scheduled an date about 3 weeks out. They showed up on time and ready to go 3 weeks later. Guys were all very polite. My wife was home during the install and she felt very comfortable being around them and having them in the house. Origionally they through it would take two days but they knocked it out all in one day. I got home towards the end of the install and asked the installer to 'take me on a tour' of the new system. He walked me through everything they had done outside and in the attic. I asked them to add a couple straps to help hold up some of the ducting which the did promptly and without extra charge. THe new system has worked better than I through it would so pretty happy about that. Warrenty was impressive to with 10 parts/labor and the A/C and 20 years on the furnace. Only minor issue we've had was the upstairs thermostat was defective, but a new one is one the way. All-n-all good experience and I'd use them again.

Dependable was not the lowest quote when comparing the same systems. They had a three man crew on site the day of install, and one of the installers was particularly sloppy and performed sub-standard work. However, with no argument whatsoever, they were willing to follow-up timely to ensure the work was performed to my standard. They had to come back twice to make it right, which was inconvenient, but they stand behind their work. I was also satisfied with tthe extra effort they exerted in order to ensure enough air was getting upstairs (which was a big reason for this upgrade, which I made clear to them at the time of the bid). This involved installation of a new 12" line, and a reconfiguration of the ducting upstairs, which was not entirely expected at the time of bid based on the information they had, but they performed the extra work without increasing the price (I guess sometimes it pays to not select the low bidder). They were always on time and courteous, and did everything they said they would do. The only dissappointment was with the initial quality of work performed (again - they were happy to correct it to make sure I was happy). Also, getting the permit signed off by the City is a pain, but this is not the fault of the contractor - messed up CA regulations in my opinion.

The technician was friendly and knowledgeable. I would use them again....

Furnace expert quickly diagnosed the problem with the ignitor, had a replacement part in his van, and had my furnace working again in one hour. Very good service.

Working with Dependable Heating and Air Conditioning was an excellent experience. The sales staff was very responsive. The installer got the job done within scheduled time. We contacted Dependable the day after we lost our AC (the hottest day of the year). Dependable installed our new system the next day. Absolutely fantastic company, great to work with.

It's going good again. The company called and explained that I had fallen through the cracks in their system. They are coming over to assess the situation and go from there. I probably should have called them when no one came back after three weeks.

I was very happy with Dependable Heating & Air Conditioning. I appreciated the attention to details both in explaining the intricacies of the jobs as well as doing great work. They were honest, straight forward and above board with everything.

They are on time. They do their job. They had to put a new stack portion in the roof. It didn't leak. They are good with everything they do as far as the gas lines and everything else. They are excellent with your property and make sure that nothing gets damaged.

I had an excellent experience with them. They gave me a rebate as well. I rate them high overall.

The service was great and they checked the A/C service.

It wasn’t a totally good experience with them. It seemed to me that they screwed something up because when the sun was beating in, the air conditioning unit did not shut off. The air conditioning was not coming out but it was just air that was coming out. So we had to have them come back a couple of times to finally fix the problem, which they did. They could have got it done the first time itself. My overall experience with them was fair. They were probably within the price range of other people that we’d called. They had to come back out twice to fix the problem. They were good with responsiveness and punctuality. The mess up that they did was probably due to the inexperience of the service man. So we called the manager and they were right on, and came out here and fixed it. It was probably due to that one technician because they do well around this area. We will probably use their services again in the future.

John could see my ductwork by shining his flashlight in my crawlspace. He said all the ducts were strapped up. The few tears on the plastic covering the ducts would not be an issue as the house is 22 years old. Since none were sagging, water couldn't have gotten inside the aluma-flex ducting. The plumbers had strapped it up earlier. He assured me that mold does not grow on the insulation which is between the ducts and the plastic covering. And since I have good airflow, I don't have a problem, which was a huge relief! He did not try to sell me something that I did not need, which is quite the exception nowdays. He did not even charge for a service call!

They have been wonderful. They are reasonable on price and are very straightforward. For instance, they won’t charge me if there isn’t anything wrong with the unit. They followed up on all their work.

The service man was very friendly and helpful. He seemed honest and didn't try to sell me anything or do more than check out my system and let me know what I needed. I'm not sure if the price is standard or not. It seemed high to me.

THEY DID A FINE JOB. THEY DID WHAT THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND GOT THE JOB DONE VERY QUICKLY. THEY WERE VERY NICE AND POLITE. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMPANY.

THE EXPERIENCE WAS FINE. THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY TO HAVE WORK FOR YOU. THEY ARE RESPONSIVE TO THE NEEDS OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. THEY LEAVE THE JOB SITE VERY CLEAN WHEN THEY FINISH A JOB.

IT WAS GREAT. I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMPANY AT ALL. THEY CAME AND DID THE WORK THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO DO. THEY GOT IT ALL DONE IN ONE DAY. THEIR SERVICE CAN'T GET ANY BETTER.

THEY DID A GOOD JOB CLEANING MY DUCTS. THEY COME OUT AT SCHEDULED TIMES AND THEY ARE PUNCTUAL AND PROFESSIONAL. ANOTHER THING I LIKED, IS THAT THEY OFFERED A BETTER DEAL WITH OUR CONTRACT (THREE YEARS OF SERVICE AT A LOWER PRICE). I RECOMMEND THEM.
