+ -1 moreBernadette met with me when I was trying to sell my husband on the idea of a solution to the drainage problems in our back yard. The basement in our 1930s era house has flooded too many times because of drainage problems in the back yard. Also, I was hoping to figure out a way to improve access to the house, especially for persons with limited mobility. And, I wanted to preserve as much of our small back yard as possible. All of the ideas Bernadette suggested we incorporated or will be incorporated into the final project. Her ideas also gave me a basis for negotiating with the contractor on specific points of the design. Bernadette also gave us a referral to a qualified contractor when it became clear that the project was beyond what we could do on our own. I hope I will have the opportunity to use her services again in the future, and for something that is more remunerative for her!
Description of Work: I was not able to use Bernadette for the final construction phase of my project, because it was beyond the scope of her resources. However, I would not have been able to accomplish the project, which ultimately was a $12,000 project by a licensed contractor, without her very good advice. I chose Bernadette and her business Ecological Landscape Design because I had heard her speak and knew she would give me appropriate advice that was grounded in current knowledge about ecological choices in land scape materials and plants.
