DAN TOLSON CONSTRUCTION

Dan did an excellent job, especially considering that I live out of state and was unable to be on the job-site for consultation. He quickly understood our needs and provided useful assistance in planning and selection of materials, his communication was always professional and to the point, and the completed project was within budget and exceeded our expectations. Although the fact that the house was unoccupied and the owners were not readily available resulted in some unexpected delays, the work was completed as quickly as could be expected. I plan to use Dan's services next time the need arises.

Dan was great discussing all the options with my mother. I can't say enough about that part of it. It was a very positive experience at an especially stressful time for my mother. On the day he and his crew came to the house to do the work, they were on time, friendly, and very respectful of my family (including the dogs) and our house. They engaged in humorous banter with my mother and made her feel very comfortable. I think it is safe to say that Dan and his crew are not typical construction workers. The bottom line is that they did an excellent job making all of the changes and installing the fan. The result couldn't have been better. It looks perfect, and the price was very good. The next time I have any construction or remodeling work, Dan Tolson will be the first person I call.

Dan Tolson and his team started and finished the work on time, cleaned up when they were done so that there was no mess left behind, were respectful of us and the rest of our property, and did excellent work at a very fair price. I am very pleased with the work and the company, and I will do business with Dan Tolson the next time I need a handyman or construction project done.

Dan was very professional, very thoughtful about the work, timely in his response, punctual, provided a written estimate with a reasonable price, was very pleasant to deal with, did excellent high quality work, went to great lengths to accommodate our schedule, and was very conscientious about following up to make sure we were completely happy. I wish I had other jobs on which I could use Dan. I highly recommend him.

I thought everything he did was absolutely superb. He did things when he said he was going to do. He gave a very fair bid which was neither high nor low. His workmanship was absolutely excellent. He showed up when he said he was going to. He exactly what he was going to do and guaranteed the work. Some of the work he did was misunderstood by us. The building inspector accepted that he has messed up the thing and Dan came and fixed it up. He did a very good job.

We scheduled at least 4 different time for Dan to come to our place to take a look at some electrical and roof repair. Each time he cancelled. The last time he didn't even call back. This included 2 weekend days where each time we had a scheduled appt and made sure we were home. I understand we're all busy but this was pretty rediculous. He seems like a very nice guy but not very considerate of his clients time...

He is a very skilled carpenter. He is equipped with details and that?s why I have him do small construction job. I really liked the work he did. I would definitely have him work again. His price is not cheap. You have to pay for skilled labor. They know their business he really does a fine job. He is a true craftsman. You get what you pay for. You will get a really professional job. You will be pleased to show it off. He did a very professional job. He does a good finish job. His skills are good for finish work and too expensive for rough work. He is very busy. Sometimes when you need immediate response, you will not get it. He will get back to you in a timely fashion. When I used him five years ago, he was setting up his business and he did have the system of returning calls.

We got to know of him from Angie's List. He had called to tell us that he would be late. He was really courteous and clean. He was very fair, honest, and reliable. He was also on time and professional. He was really nice when my kids were here. It was a great experience overall. He was very helpful as far as recommending a couple of places to buy titles for a backsplash. He also referred us to a tiler. If I ever need any plumbing or know anyone else that needs it I would recommend him in a heartbeat. He was fabulous.

I contacted Dan who came over and discussed the scope of work with me. I wanted to do some of the demo, framing, and electrical myself. He provided me a quote for each step that I was unsure if I wanted to complete and told me he would do any portion of the work. He and his crew came out the following week after I had completed the demo of the ceiling and relocated the plumbing for me. They also replaced the HVAC ducting to allow for recessed lighting and to fit it into a smaller soffit. At that point I wanted to reframe the soffit myself and install can lights and pendent boxes myself. He agreed to come back the following week after I did my portion and continue with the installation of the new drywall. The next week rolled around and I had run out of time to relocate the range vent, he jumped right in and finished for me. After talking to him that morning, I also decided to insulate the ceiling, he told me what to buy and I headed to the hardware store while he was installing the vent. He then installed the insulation for me without a complaint. He and his crew installed the new drywall, finished, and painted everything I wanted. It was a pleasure to work with Dan and his crew, they did an excellent job. I would not hesitate to call them again.

The overall experience of working with Dan & his crew was very good.

It went well as far as speaking with Dan. he seem to know what he was talking about. I really was pleased with Dan. In the end I didn't hired Dan, to do the job only because I chose someone I knew and knew the kind of work this person does. The cost also play a factor in who I chose.

Dan was prompt, knowledgeable, efficient, thoughtful, cooperative,... His team worked intelligently and with respect for my needs. It was a good experience despite the stress of the damage. I heartily recommend this contractor.

It went extremely well. The leak was fixed (no trace of water for 2 months). You would not be able to find out that work had been done by looking at the ceiling. Throughout this work, Dan and his crew kept informing us about the status of the job. They also were very good at keeping the place clean, even draping the place with plastic sheets to avoid the spread of dust or paint.

I found Dan on the list and we made an appointment to meet on a Saturday morning. He met me at the house on time, we reviewed the work to be done, Dan had additional comments and thoughts about the work that gave me the confidence that: #1. He knew what he was doing and #2. He knew what I expected for a finished product. Dan had the work complete on the date agreed and it looked as I expected. I would give Dan an A rating in everything, but if I did he would not have the motivation to do as good a job as he currently is doing. We are working on a new list work that will be done later in the year.

Dan & his assistant took on a somewhat difficult project and completed it efficiently and neatly and at the cost quoted, despite the need for additional parts. For plumbing work, a very positive experience. No leaks!

Dan's work was outstanding. He listened to what we needed, performed the work very efficiently, pointed out issues with the house or structure that we would need to know, did not damage any of our existing wall/trim/paint and taught us a lot about what he was doing. He returned to our house (no charge) to ensure our sink was set properly and our plumbing was not leaking. He was extremely thorough and the finished work was high quality. I felt so lucky that he could help us with all the 'big items' on our remodel.

Called this guy to schedule an initial estimate for handyman work. He called me back last Friday after 4 days leaving a message that he had been busy but could get to me either today or tomorrow. I called him back Friday night and left a message that any time on Monday woudl be great but to confirm he had received the msg. Never heard from the guy again. Very unprofessional.

He was great. Came by one day to give me an estimate on installing a cover to my patio, which we discussed in some detail and then I asked him if he could install a GFCI outlet and we made an appointment for that work to be done (the patio cover is on hold while I decide what I want to do). I am thrilled to finally find someone who can help me with all the little and big problems that pop up around the house.

He did a very fine job overall. He installed the smoke detectors and wired them properly so they are connected to one another, then tested them to insure they all worked properly. He filled the holes in the doors, sanded them and primed them. They look great. All of the work was done on time and within budget, plus he was very clean and cleaned up after himself. He has all of his own tools and equipment and was very prepared for the job.
