Rick showed up early and was already inspecting the outside of the house when we arrived. He was friendly, energetic, and explained things to us clearly and patiently. Our realtor said he gave the most thorough summary she'd ever seen. My only (sort of) complaint is that the company's follow-up emails mention they keep a list of recommended service providers. When I called about this, they had no idea what I was talking about.

The person they sent was awful because he actually told the buyer about so many things that we need to do, and then when we had second opinion though the buyer brought his guy along, it was totally upset and that we didn't to buy the roof. We were talking to the roof people because we thought we got to put a new roof on, but the roof could go other at least 15 years. He missed a few really basic points which were not good to the customer. Where the main drain was, they hooked another one. They didn't pick up on the sump pump to the house which was pretty basic. They got the roof wrong. The term they used was short, and then we had two other roofing people in and both of them said that it was not short and it was high, but it was just possible, which was bad. We never use to inspect a 70 plus year-old house like ours because if we try to apply current quotes to it, obviously it doesn't work. I think they have to just be a little bit circumspect. He wasn't at all flexible about anything. He measured every single step to make sure the steps were all of the same height. It was kind of like he just came out of school; he was older than that, but it was like this was his first inspection, everything has to be just speck. We had to have it all done because the buyer wouldn't be satisfied though it cost us a lot of money. It was not the company, but the wrong man that came. I would rather have had the president of the company come because he would have known a little bit better.
