Giovanni returned on February 23rd with Dennis and performed the work per the estimate (see above for description).
Very nice job - great "old school" family business. I will trust
Continental appliance for any future repair/refurbishment of my beloved
old Wedgewood.

I left a voice message and heard back from the company within one hour. After explaining the problem, I was able to get an appointment in an hour with a two hour window of time. I received a call from the technician giving me an approximate arrival time. When he arrived, I explained the problem and the technician was able to assess the probable cause. While taking the machine apart, he explained to me what can cause the lid switch to malfunction. The technician also answered questions I had about my washer. My experience with the company was positive and I would recommend them.

They replaced the electronic panel which was very difficult, and did not charge for the extra labor. for the burner, the original estimate assumed replacement only of the lighter fuse, but upon implementation, the part had "frozen" in place and the entire burner needed replacing requiring order of part and another service call. Minor error, and only reason for non-perfect score, so assume an A if you think i am too picky!

Two repair persons came out on 6/16, during the window of time given when I set up the appointment. They took everything apart and determined that there was a hole in the pump. They checked to see if they had a spare pump in the truck, and since they didn't, one of the men went back to the shop to see if there was one in their inventory. Unfortunately, there was not, so they had to order the pump which only took a day and their assistant called to set up an appointment to come over and install the pump, and gave us a window and they arrived, installed the new pump, gave me the old one and we settled up on the invoice and they left. They did ask for the $75 for the service call, and the $89 for the new pump on the first day, which seemed fair to me. Then at the completion of the repair, I paid them the balance of $177.46. They were pleasant, and seemed to be knowledgeable and worked quickly and were careful in moving some things in the basement that were in the way. Overall, I was very pleased.
