The Greener Plumber

Chris Layton is The Greener Plumber. I viewed ALL the Yelp comments about the various plumbers recommended on the NextDoor Ocean Park Santa Monica site and on the basis of The Greener Plumber's good reviews and no negative reviews decided to hire him for work in a rental apartment I own in Venice. I was very pleased. He did three projects in one visit: replaced the inside "guts" on a toilet tank that was leaking, removed old leaking corroded metal pipes (2) and replaced with new non-metal pipes under the kitchen sink (a better quality sure to last), and removed a bathroom faucet and replaced it with a new one that I provided and had pre-purchased. He spent about 1 hour 45 minutes to do the entire job - worked quickly, spotlessly and came with all the supplies he needed already in hand. Fee was $365 for parts and labor, which I felt was fair for such good quality work. I would recommend him and use him again.

Chris sent a camera down the line, cleared it with his hydro jet machine, then checked to make sure it was clear. This was very useful -- I've been having it snaked periodically, but with the camera we were able to visualize the problem and locate it. Chris is smart, skilled and respectful. His service includes a free return visit to reassess and see if roots are coming back. I would hire him again without hesitation.

He's great. I got him from Angie's List. It is all expensive for hydro. The best thing is he comes back 6 months later for free, re-inspects the line to make sure it is clear, if it's not, he'll hit it again for free. He actually had one of the lower prices.

Chris is responsive and organized, and did an excellent job efficiently at a reasonable cost. He is honest and a pleasure to deal with. We could use him again, as well as recommend him to friends and neighbors without hesitation. Chris is a true professional.

Chris was prompt, courteous, and highly skilled. He brings his own pristine white cloth to wipe up any spills as he works. He is meticulous about leaving the work area clean. Even though he was really busy, he managed to fit us in for a quick service call. He is a gem and I highly recommend him!

He is a good plumber. He is hard to get in to but that is because he is good.

The water leak was fixed and the work was completed in a timely and professional manner. I would like to note here that I had used Chris before when he owned American Drain Works Plumbing Co. I was thrilled to know he started another company. Chris continues to provide exceptional service and professional work which I had experienced in the past. Not only did he fixed the problem leak, he also solved another problem with a water issue I was dealing with. Chris is an all around Go To Plumber and I highly recommend him. I'm so glad I found him!

We called the Greener Plumber last night to help us out with a little plumbing emergency. It was after hours, but Chris was happy to help. He let us know what time he would be here and even followed up with a text message to let us know when he was on his way. Chris quickly diagnosed and solved the problem. I would highly recommend him for any plumbing work and/or repair. Certainly nobody WANTS to have to call a plumber, but if you need one, Chris is your guy.

We have old plumbing in our house and I have used Chris several times over the year. He has always been great. A gem of a plumber and I would contract him for any plumbing job on our house. He installed a new toilet for us a few years ago, was very helpful in advising a water efficient model, and did the work promptly and carefully. Today he unclogged a sink in our bathroom. He was on time, very easy to communicate with, responsive, and reasonably priced.

chris is the ultimate professional. he's treated me and my with respect, provided site specific options at an affordable price and did not compromise on quality. i can't write enough good things about chris and the greener plumber.

Summary: Property manager for 15 years. My experience with Chris was excellent. He is efficient, knowledgeable, fair and honest. He correctly diagnosed everything we threw at him and we were blown away. He will be my go to guy from now on. Thank you! I am a building owner and I recently had a backup at one of my properties. I called Chris and he came over immediately. I have had extensive experience with plumbers over the last 15 years, enough to know what to watch for, and Chris is truly exceptional. He sent a camera down the main and quickly diagnosed the problem. He showed me the roots which I suspected were there, but I appreciated the integrity he showed in first looking for them and then showing me. He had the main cleared in no time. I then told him I had a couple other problems I'd like him to look at while he was there. When we went into the units which were occupied by tenants at the time, Chris was courteous and polite. A lot of plumbers will throw stuff out from under sinks and leave a mess when they're done, not Chris. He was respectful of all my tenant's spaces and he left everything in better condition than he found them. He was also mindful of their pets and made sure they didn't get out which really impressed me as I didn't feel like running after any of them. Having had so much experience with contractors, and knowing a little about plumbing myself, I knew that Chris had ample opportunities to recommend I do things that really don't need to be done but he didn't do that. Instead he gave me a very fair price on all the work he did, looked me in the eye and shook my hand. Chris is obviously a master plumber and a man with integrity. Just before the Christmas holiday, our gardner discovered what turned out to have been a slow leak that had become much larger. I called Chris Layton, the Greener Plumber, because I knew he would respond quickly to an emergency and would take care of it professionally and thoroughly. We also knew we could rely on him to be ethical and not jack up prices -- some do when it's an urgency, especially during major holidays. We have had the same consistent level of service from him over the years. In this case, he had to dig a trench in our front yard from the city meter to the point where the piping meets the house. He, as always, was careful to make sure he showed us what he found, described what had been happening and why, and what he proposed to do. We are very pleased with his work and would absolutely recommend his services.

Perfectly! I have not had an issue with the pipes since. And, as always, Chris was thorough, professional and more than fair on the price.
