Description of Work: I asked Joe for a bid/quote on some remodeling/decorating and internal painting for my condominium. He provided me with a written quote for the work I described to him. That written quote was much higher than the verbal estimate he gave me before that. There may have been some confusion on my part and Joe's between the verbal estimate and the written quote. So far I have signed nothing. No work has been done at this time as I have several other contractors that must complete, or tell me when they will be able to do their work BEFORE I can have Joe confirm his written quote is the same as it was originally submitted, and then start HIS work. Joe has done many projects in my area and I have heard nothing bad about him, or his work, other than some folks think he is rather expensive. But I still have not had him do work for me. We are still in the planning stage with Joe. Overall Rating is a C due to the big difference between the verbal estimate and the written quote.

+ -1 moreJoe was an old world craftsman and he was the best in my opinion. He does things like people used to do them. He was not in a hurry and he was a very mellow person. He was very cooperative when it came to trying different colors and showing the samples. We gave him the keys to the house; he let himself in and out. He was good with the dogs, he kept in mind where they were and did not let them out. He had one helper and he was very patient. They spent a lot of time prepping the stucco and fixing the water damage. The wood took them for ever as it had not been painted or touched for 20 years. The real work was getting things ready and they spent a lot of time in it.
Description of Work: I hired them to paint the complete exterior and 5 interior rooms of my house.
