After working with GDA in the past, we contacted them about another landscape trimming job at our office. They were very professional in our initial conversations and said the job could be completed in the week following our conversation and that someone would be in touch to come by and give an estimate. We were on a time crunch and really counting on the promised visit from one of the employees. We received no contact from anyone at GDA on the day we were told to expect a phone call and visit. We reached out to the employee who was supposed to stop by, as well as Greg himself and heard nothing. We then emailed again the next day and heard nothing back until our second email, in which we let GDA know we decided to go with another company. We were disappointed in the number of attempts it took to get in touch with GDA after we were promised a visit that never happened. They also never acknowledged their failure to reach out on the day they were supposed to.

We seldom write a review, but feel compelled to do so now as every day when we come home and see unfinished business per our landscaping improvements, we think of how Greg took off refusing to do a walk through with us to address our issues. For the price Greg charges, we would have hoped he would have been concerned that we were satisfied rather than refusing to do a walk through with us, only wanting his final payment and then disappearing. While Greg is talented, his bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. It is his way or no way, and then when he gets upset if you try to stand up to him, watch out! Greg made some fundamental errors, like not advising us that a gopher problem should have been addressed before starting the landscaping. While he claims there was no problem when the project started, this is untenable given the property is in the hills of Encino. He should have known this. Correcting the problem cost us three times as much as it would have cost us if it would have been addressed prior to the inception of the landscaping process. Of course, Greg refused to take responsibility, a theme we found throughout our relationship with him. While Greg's people do good work, it is baffling how Greg can become so unglued, and virtually threaten people for payment, without really caring that there are so many loose ends. We now need to find another landscaper to walk our property to finish up little things to complete our project. We have no problem paying someone, but after you have put so much money into a project you would hope that the landscaper would not take a "hissy fit", and take his ball and go home. We expected a little more professionalism from a professional.

I phoned and spoke with a very nice gentleman and described the scale of our project and was told Gregory would be calling us back in the next day or so to schedule a consultation appointment. We never received a return call. Our's is a large job and we were quite surprised there was no return communication from the company. Hopefully others have a better first impression.

I'm sorry to say I never had the pleasure of working or doing business with Mr. Davis due to his attitude and crappy customer service. Here is what happened, judge for yourself: I contacted Mr.Davis via Angie's List describing my project and my main fear about it (after reviewing his website I was concerned that he might consider my project "too small". I told him this from the get go in an effort to not waste anyone's time). He responded with this: Hello, Please give me a call to discuss your landscape project. Which is fine, except that unlike all the other angie's list requests I've sent, for some reason his response ended up in my spam folder and I did not find it for another week. At that point, feeling horrible about the whole thing, I responded with this: Hello Greg! I'm sorry-- I only just found your email--it was shunted into my spam folder by accident. As I mentioned in my initial email I have a very small space (approx 17 x 13) that I'm looking to have redesigned. I am avail over the weekend and also during the morning a few days next week. Maybe I can't call from my job. Maybe I prefer face to face instead of a useless phone call (since it's about seeing the space anyway) Or maybe I'm just the customer who is looking to you know, HIRE you ..... the mind reels at all the possibilities as to why I didn't understand his response wasn't casual but an ACTUAL COMMAND Yeah, soooooo I'm not saying he's an XXXXXXX...I'm just saying YOU MUST ONLY CALL HIM! DON'T EVER USE EMAIL BECAUSE IT APPARENTLY OFFENDS HIS DELICATE SENSIBILITIES.

I got what I needed.

Greg's team came out a few days later and completely cleaned up our out of control current plants and put in beautiful new succulents and stones. The work turned out to be better then we expected. They even took some old planters that we had in our back parking lot and put plants in them for us. They really went the extra mile! It's really nice to have some green back there that we see everyday!

I contacted this company in regard to a landscape planning project and Greg responded to my email the same day. He also followed up with a call the following day of my response to his initial email. I was very impressed with his prompt response and courtesy. Although we have not used his services yet, I would definitely consider his firm for our project in the future.

They are expensive, but great to work with. They provide good follow up, and I would recommend them to others.

I thought their price was very reasonable for the work that they did. However, I think their prices for actual physical landscaping work seemed a little high. Therefore, I'll probably go with a different company for that service.

Gregory Davis & Associates have been doing our landscaping for over 15 years. We are extremely pleased with their promptness and quality of work. They never disappoint.

Went great. They made everything happen seamlessly and kept us involved and informed along the way. My husband is quite a perfectionist and hard to please, but we are very happy. People stop by our house and comment on the yard all the time - even random strangers!

Was pleased with the work and would use them again and/or recommend them to someone else.

Greg is very knowledgeable, gave us good suggestions and a plan. The work was done thoroughly and quickly. We are pleased with the results. The price is on the high side but it is worth it.
